Not really. It originally wasn't a skimpy bikini but a more acceptable gym leotard. THEN, later on, after each game, they made it more and more evident it was lingerie. And then they gave her full blown lingerie and high heels and a lapdance to complete it.

Well yeah. The only character I remember licking things suggestively was Mileena, and it was blood-covered Sai. (And then it's pretty gross). It would be pretty out of character for pretty much anyone else aside from a woman that tears people's faces off with her teeth.
Jade is far from cold. Her first meaningful action in the series is to NOT assasinate Kitana. They are lifelong friends and are both edenian (which shows in both of their dancer-like attires, the style of which they share with MKX Rain). What does her outfit show now? It's a robe, either a green one or a beige one. It has a hood. She looks like the middle eastern woman I usually see in the market. She has nothing Edenian in her design and neither does Kitana.
Why? I honestly don't understand that reasoning. The character can be shirtless, constantly look like he's covered in oil and flexing real hard, can have a perfect six pack and a nice face, cool ass and real neat broad shoulders, have an insanely deep voice and confident demeanor but for some weird reason people will stroll up and say he aint sexy unless he's out there doing Ricardo Milos dances straight into the camera. I wouldn't mind if we had a proper pretty boy lover character, but that spot is being ironically occupied by Johhny cage.
Shao Kahn has weird monster arm here, weird monster face, glowing red eyes, wears a skull above his face and looks dirty as hell for some reason. I think the only reason Cetrion is less sexy is because her skin is this weird greyish color and honestly blends in with her clothes. She looks like either a dead person or a living statue. She's also bland as hell tbh.
Why do you keep on mentioning high heels all the time? What did they ever do to you? Trust me, I'm not the kind of guy to look at someone's feet and go "damn, high heels, just broke the roof of my house with my ginormous boner" and I suspect the general population isn't either.
Sub-zero is canonically Chinese-american and is supposed to be mixed race. After the shift to 3d his race became significantly harder to tell and I'd argue the only games where he looked too white for this to be implausible are 3 and DA. There is nothing to get upset about because the character was always meant to be this way.

Unfortunately it's become a battle of one extreme vs the other. If I were NRS, I'd just put in 30 costumes. Put in the ones dressed from head to toe and the ones that show more skin. This way everyone's happy.

If it wasn't for boobs getting in the way, I'm sure they'd go shirtless like a guy. That's why they wear the next best thing in those shirts. Not everything is about sexualizing people.
Maybe I understood your initial post. It seemed to imply that MMA fighters wore a lot more. I personally thought the MK9 stripper costumes were ridiculous. That said a lot of these MK11 costumes are just as bad on the other end of the spectrum. Most of Cassie's gear looks bad and it has nothing to do with the amount of skin showing. Cassie never showed that much skin to begin with. They are overdesigned or extremely derivative of Sonya. The latter wouldn't be that bad if Cassie favored Sonya's personality but she doesn't she favors Johnny.
I know but some people are acting as if the girls are "real" even though they're not. A Karate Gii remember (one your size anyway) will not have anything to grab compared to something like Skarlet's wearing. lol But yeah at this point I think NRS should just have both kinds of costumes, this way everyone is pleased.
Have you seen the first ufc tournaments? Before MMA and it was style vs style? The people with clothes got wrecked. Besides Gracie but it almost cost him a few times. The gii didn’t stop him from making jujitsu an mma staple but it did hinder him many times.
