I think she is at least A+ tier, quite possibly S tier
Her F1 is a 9 frame advancing high that's zero on block. Her B1 reaches right after she resets neutral with F1 and it's a 10f mid
A 15f advancing mid that goes into an overhead
Tick throws in her strings and a CMD Grab and strings to condition it. A safe OH that is borderline Kabal range
I don't see how she could be a bad character. I predict she will be in S tier on pros lists soon and I'm willing to bet she will place in the top 16
I just came in to see what people were saying about f1. It can actually be +1. I guess they are expecting people to blow it up if people keep doing it, but it and d3 both have good range and a stray hit nets you a lot of plus frames either way. So you could just fish for plus frames alternating them as pokes. I don't know how that fits with the rest of what she does, she is kind of odd feeling to get going with.

I already have some killer looks, so I may just keep messing around with her for a bit and see how I feel in a few days. Speaking of which, two single fight towers are up. Do them both and the brutal difficulties and you walk away with four skins in only a few min.

if you get predictable they can jump on ya but still its neat

range on her moves is poopy, I miss b12 mkx mileena

I feel like Mileena is meant to basically play full on range and counterzone, and be all the way in with zero room for footsies cause she doesn't got any past d3.

Yeah her custom options are almost as bad as Shao. Her having to waste slots on staple air attacks while Scorpion and Liu still have their air fireball/air teleport bothers me.
It's things like this and how certain characters like Kitana and Kabal have free stuns with fan lift and spin dash. I never understood why some characters get all these cool base tools while some suffer from lack of a base kit.
If someone knows if there is some genius balance reason for devs doing this than please explain it to me.

It's the same with certain kustoms being extended strings, like I get that it's supposed to be a feature of MK11 to have Kustom moves and all but putting string extensions behind a slot wall never felt right with me.
I do hope they think about changing this and give characters either a more fleshed out base kit for greater fun factor or add more kustom moves later down the line.

I really feel like regular sais are much better than low sais. The pushback, chip, and general annoyance is fantastic. I’m currently running the extended strings, air sai, and command grab and enjoying it so far.

(Being able to pluck people out of the air with an enhancing air sai ala Kitana into a full combo feels fantastic.)

That being said... it’s day one. Mileena is negative as fuck on a lot of her moves and we’re all probably getting away with murder. Time will tell though.

Mileena and Smoke were my go to sweat characters in MK9. I reserved my hype for Mileena in MK11 because I hated using her in MKX...but dude. I am sitting here playing her with a goofy ass smile on my face. She is perfect. Accept me, Mileena Hyenas. Accept me on your grand bandwagon. She is back and better than ever.

EDIT: Been seeing a lot of comments around the internet saying she is bad. If it turns out she is actually bad, I am having fun with her and sticking with her for that reason alone. More fun than any other character I have used day 1 in this game, and I can barely do a decent combo yet.

It's hyperbole she isn't bad, she is good. She does have a ton of negative strings but so does joker and he seems to win tournaments.im sure we will see with Foxy, Deoxys and others picking her up.

She has really good mix decent zoning and decent buttons. I like her, I do think Rain is better maybe Rambo but I haven't used him yet.

I have a strong feeling in my gut that her command grab is gonna be a staple of her game plan before long. If you're able to consistently jail into her B1 afterwards, it opens up mind games up the ass. Being able to enforce a mid with pretty abysmal range like that can't be underestimated.

EDIT: Also, out of all of Mileena's brutalities, I'm so happy that the one attached to her command grab is my second favorite after her UMK3 callback, if only because of the disrespect.

Omg that is perfection. I have her command grab, the move with the extended strings and low sai on my girl currently. I've got 2 brutalities for 2 of the extended strings so far, about to get the command grab Brutality. Gonna be brutalizing tf outta ppl when I take her online lmao. I think almost every special has a brutality attached to it.

I need some sleep though, but after Day 1, I gotta say, I'm really happy right now. It could be because I'm in that "Honeymoon" phase and I'm looking at her through rose-tinted glasses (Or maybe it's blood tinted? Who knows.) But I'm so satisfied with how she feels.

She's not MKX Mileena, but anyone with a clear head would've known that she wasn't going to be that character. I think that's where a lot of the disappointment comes from. Because she's far from a bad character imo. I'm having a lot of fun and watching people play her on Twitch, they're dominating. I'm slowly getting familiar with her strings and there are a couple ez little combos I've figured out. She's got everything it feels like. Zoning, anti-zoning, rushdown. She's just got an answer for a lot of things. But again, I haven't gone online yet so idk how well this translates to actual gameplay outside of AI towers.

Also, I think I changed her outfits back and forth at least 35 times because I can't choose just one. I ended up making 4 variations all with the same abilities but with 4 different outfits lmao. They're all so good. She has a black and red version of her default that I'm absolutely obsessed with. Her side-cut skin and Kitana bun skins are also fckn incredible and I've started liking the Shao Kahn helmet a little bit more. I'm just shocked at how happy I am with this character. Well worth the wait and I'm really happy with her.

alright quick little guide for the people that don't know were to start for her because she is a little weird. equip command grab and the extra strings and keep standing sai. spam sais and backdash hella, her backdash is broke as hell and sais are an insanely good projectile with their pushback and chip. spam command grab a lot, it's stupid fast. use amp sai on block to keep yourself safe, this is really good with the extra strings because you can make f43 safe. f43 is also a really good shimmy. if you stick to a zoning game and use amp sais on block to maintain pressure then sooner or later your throw kb will be up and then shit gets really dirty. also spam d3

But I can't make up my mind on her abilities.
I like low sai but I also like normal sai because of the mad pushback and speed.
Air said is good cuz it's super plus on instant airs
But I run CMD Grab + Extra Strings + Low Sai/Vanish but there are legit reasons to use air sai, sliding sai(up sai)

But I legit can't see Mileena being below A+ tier with all she has. Definitely better characters than her and that's what I wanted. Good but not so stupid she gets nerfed. Couldn't be more happy. At worse I have a secondary Rain cuz he looks amazing. Rambo has some dirt as well

I seriously can’t get over how damn good she looks. This & the Tasty brutality are my favourites, but it’s a shame I’ll never be using the slide; ball roll is just too valuable.

The Slide is actually pretty good. It has a cancel, it makes combos 20% unbreakable and adds so many mixes. You can cancel the slide into a CMD Grab/button/throw after you condition them to be ck the low. And basically swap every overhead with the slide.

I just see the potential

One variation I use:
CMD Grab + Added strings + Kahnum Dash(Slide)

The other variation I use
Low sai + CMD Grab + Extra strings

Both have their uses. The regular sai adds pushback and saftey and a good amount of chip and unbreakable damage if you choose.

Low sai adds a KB and a slower projectile that has the benefit of going under highs. But Ball Roll/Slide does that itself.

air sais are lowkey really fucking good in the corner

for example if you have extended strings you can apply her 11 grab mixup after her f1 on hit or do instant air sais, if they jump they get full comboed, if they block you're +6, if they hit them standing they won't get knocked down and your +20 so you can do whatever you want.

you can also combo with her air sai from full screen if your opponent gets hit while jumping if your wavedash is good enough. the closer you are to fullscreen the more damage you can get out. from midscreen distance you can do ia sais,f1,34 amp roll,f431+3 for example.

 
How is 34 death on block it's -8 with pushback, it's a just frame punish for those with 7f starters
Please read what you're responding to. Kahnum Dash is -11 on block.

And defensive input buffer is 5f, they have a 6f window to punish.

If you delay any other one of them fuzzy block doesn't work
You cannot delay the strings... Are you seriously suggesting your mix is 34 but you sometimes stop at 3 and go into b3? There is an enormous pause there.

I think she has better mix than Terminator
Terminator's/Sub's whole point is that they have overhead/low starters to their strings. Mileena does not, her overheads come later.

Guessing between extended 111+3 grab and 11 xx roll is a more valid mix, being a 3f fuzzy, but both of those are really unsafe, so if the opponent does it right even 1/3 of time, you're just breaking even.

Hey guys, i haven’t used a character with a command grab in MK11 yet (and barely ever use them tbh), but i see a lot of you praising hers. I understand its use as an armor break and juggle combo ender, but are you using it in neutral too? I’m having a hard time seeing its use there as it doesnt grab enemies in hit/block-stun or crouch-blockers (which her regular throw do). Her regular throw seems to have like a pixel less range, but also does more damage than the meterless command grab.

Mileena is NOT BAD.

Two of her specials are safe because of the pushback and make all of her strings, no matter how negative, safe on block. That shit is amazing in MK11. (ground sai and straight sai)

She has good damage, a good and easy armor breaker to use, overhead starter that travels slightly, lows you can't hit confirm but you can yolo into full combo above 20%. If you read the breakaway that's a big RIP to them.

D3, F2, jail into straight sai and that's amazing to have in neutral.

She has an advancing string that is 0 on block, another easy hit confirmable one that is +1. Another that is -8 but again with that pushback you ain't getting punished (b112).

An easy to input CG to use in neutral, on rolls, that's also her armor breaker and it's good to end combos with AND it switches sides.

Not to mention she has so many moves that switches side: Ball roll if you don't amp, F231+3, command grab, tele kick if you amp.

She has a teleport as well.

You can literally shimmy and footsie your opponent to death along with crazy good neutral moves and every single utility you could ever want in MK11. She is S tier material. The only thing keeping her from being that good is her shitty ass mid.
