Last Dance / Overall Impression of MK11 Beta

Over all it’s ok, im having more fun then I did in injustice 2 (mk11 looks nice as well!)

But it’s alright...idk something feels off like it’s missing something..and I’m still 50/50 ( no pun intended) on the pacing of the game...and sound fx need a buff it doesn’t feel meaty enough at the moment (and this is the 2nd game in a row with NO freaky TOASTY....a staple of the series...)

Beta wise I agree with the 7/10 and I’m very curious as to how the community will go hand in hand with the longevity of the game since ppl “wanted mk9 back” etc.
As far customes are concerned for MK 9 they said they would bring back classic customes maybe MK 9 pack lol

Aside from Kabal, I couldn't really feel myself gelling with the characters, but that's just a personal opinion on the other 4 characters, probably because I haven't had any real experience with Jade and Baraka in MK9, and I didn't get enough free time to delve into Skarlet (the price you pay for a full-time job, but I digress). Aside from that, I really can't complain, I'm really looking forward to getting to play the full version.
 
Amazing game. Took a little bit to get used to the changes but it’s extremely fun and game speed will be faster in the final build which is great. My only concern is some fighters need more depth like Ive noticed on quite a few combos that stop too soon after a couple hits and the only way to continue is doing a krushing blow. I think they just need to open the game up more to have more variety.

Some of the charcters do have one niche of strings so yea

The game is more focused now on the footsies aspect rather than long combos. And even the long combos that can come from Krushing Blows have been made so that they can only be done once per game.

Might be premature to say this, but I already think this is my favourite MK. Visuals and character models are outstanding, I love the customisation and it's handled better than IJ2 in every way IMO, roster is (or will be) faaaaar better than MKX's, Fatal Blows >>> X-Rays even though they need a bit of work, and even the music's a bit better.

It's also the first time ever where I've thought NRS truly have something great in the gameplay department. I'm already hoping MK12 doesn't throw a bunch of it out the window, even though that'll probably be the case.

this feels like a next gen fighting game, the improvement from the last game is obvious. MK2 was my favorite but this is even better

I had a lot of fun. It was frustrating learning the game at first, as the pace is so slow and methodical, button presses need to be precise. Once i got into the frequency it was awesome.

Netcode i gotta give like 9/10. Even against wifi warriors with yellow bars lag was minimal. Most matches were smooth and passed without incident.

Kustomisation of cosmetics I'll give 8/10. I'm excited to see what the full game has in store, but seeing the re used mask for skarlet and jade makes me wonder if most options will be non unique and shared designs between characters. Also seems like each character has at least 1 cosmetic customisation option you'll never notice in game. Kabals gas, Scarlet's vial from the beta and subbies shuriken are barely noticeable.

Ability customising is a solid 9/10. Promises hundreds of hours of potential labbing.

Balance I'd give 10/10. At least between the 5 characters available, everything seemed fair movelist wise. Jade lacks strong combos but her keep away makes up for it well, which is difficult to get right.

As a beta experience I'd say 9/10. Really excited for 23rd now.

Those 2 characters specifically are heavy zoner style characters. Giving them too many combo options would make them OP. I agree jade could use maybe 1 more string she can apply up close, but Skarlet's pokes and specials are good enough as is
