Cheers. The 4~hat spin is very inconsistent but 1~hat spin works well!It's a little tricky, but I believe dive kick, b12-spin, run into 4-hat spin, 21 works. You could probably replace the 4-hat spin for 1-hat spin to make it easier. This should build the best meter and give you the option of a safe hat spin instead of automatically ending with it.

Tempest or Buzzsaw. Neither have a legitimate wake up, neither have mix ups that are comparable to a big chunk of the cast. There's no way a character can be top 10 when they factually lack the tools that other characters have. A 7 frame poke is cool, others have 6. A good jump 3 is cool, others have busted jump punches that can lead into their launching 50/50s or better mix ups.U are talking about tempest, u need to be precise now since buzzsaw is legit. Ex teleport is great wakeup because it gives him free get out of pressure. U dont have to always go for a throw, just do 3. And if someone wants to start punish it (which isnt easy) then start throwing him. Spin is great aa now. Spin also got more usefull because ppl are much scared to press ur opponent because of launching armors nerfs. U can predict stagger and spin even in very tight frames situation. If u dont feel like risking, just do d1/d4. He fits the new meta very well.

I would suggest to wait a little with the judgment. The patch just dropped, You dropped Alien and picked Kung Lao and you think You know everything and You are KL specialist Know. Frizen plays KL since MK9, through the entire MKX live so how about you give some time, learn the game (its not Alien anymore) and perhaps you might end up a fine Kung Lao player.

Pick a top tier character if you don't feel like playing him and if you want 50/50 to fight fire with fire there are plenty of characters to do thatI don't think Lao will end up being a debatable top ten. His wake up game was handled extremely poorly. EX teleport is the greatest wake up ever, until you run into someone who will just move forward or do an advancing string once they've knocked you down, rendering teleport completely useless. You'll just whiff as they whiff, and due to Lao's recovery, it will be their turn, or they'll just punish you for being correct.
Lao also still has shitty mix ups in comparison to a lot of the cast. Sure the mix ups have been toned down, but there are still characters like Quan Chi, Ermac, Reptile, Kano, Jacqui, Cassie, etc, who have way better mix ups than Lao, even in Buzzsaw.
People will lose 50-3 or whatever score to Foxy, and won't be able to admit that it's just that he's that good. Foxy could make this community think that any character is top 5, however, in Lao's current state, he's just not IMO. Hit or throw, D4 conditioning, etc, is not reasonable when there are still 50/50 monsters lingering. No consistent armor is not reasonable when there is consistent and even safe armor left hanging around.
Lao is better than before, don't get me wrong. The quality of life buffs helped. I just expected a much better character than what we have, with all of these top 5 rumblings.

Like I'll do b2 xx hat spin, 44, rc, b321 xx spin, jk dk and then the 21 will usually whiff midscreen. Been trying to do a slight run after landing and it kind of works I'm just wondering if there is something else I should be doing gravity wise or whatever.

Kung Lao is garbage at wake up , until his tele starts to track players , it's useless , if u tele and does noting , you are at -gazillion and that's no wake up at all , all the other cast wake up is reversal .. We need a better armor move and a faster mid to compete ...@Tweedy
