This thread is going nowhere because people on both sides of the fence are just going to continue to agree to disagree as emotions run high as this is a touchy subject for most. The hint about him being gay was so subtle most people wouldn't have even noticed.
Really, it all comes down to these two questions.. Were you interested in playing Kung Jin before the announcement of him being gay? Are you interested in playing him now?
Kung Jin being gay adds nothing to his character for me, personally. I always found him to be the least interesting new character in the game, whether that was because he was the last one to be revealed or not is irrelevant, but it's great that NRS gave their gay community some representation.
I just can't even bother to play him, because I find him bland and dry and as Liu Kang would say, "You are NOT Kung Lao!"
And he was irritating as fuuuucckk in the story mode! The insensitive remarks he made towards Jacqui and constantly bumping heads with Cassie over leadership.
He was seriously a bigger diva and Prima Donna than the entire female cast. Maybe that was the Dead Giveaway?
