So for example. Let's say MKX comes out and there is a character with both a low combo starter and an overhead combo starter that they can apply after you block a heavy jump attack. Let's also say that both of these starters are + on block. A new person might look at the data and complain saying "I have to guess high or low and if I guess wrong I eat a full combo and if I guess right I am at negative frames!" What they said is correct however they first need to look at why are they having to guess high or low in the first place. This is being applied because the heavy jump attack has enough block stun to put them in this situation. So that person should look into anti-airing, armoring, backdashing, etc. before they say how stupid something is.
Oh I never debated its success. I just personally was never able to get into James Bond movies, on the whole.

That's why only half a lashing :)

As a whole I can see people not getting into the entire series. But we must acknowledge there are some amazingly classic scenes/movies in the series.

I agree with that only so far -- because depending on the MU and the characters' tools, it might not actually take a lack of skill on your part to put you in that situation. In fact, you may actually be required to put yourself in that situation to have any chance at getting damage.

For example, (to take a case from GGA) how is say, CW supposed to maintain offense against Bane without putting herself in a situation where she can be knocked down for a 50/50? It's not really just a question of skill; she has to guess right at a range where Bane has superior length/hitboxes + armor, to even avoid the knockdown in the first place. If she gets lucky, then great; if not, then "those are the breaks" and she's on the ground.
Some points here.

1. The overhead or low 50/50s.
When Injustice first came out I was mad that there were a lot of those types of 50/50s in the game. It didn't make sense to me. But then my fighting game teacher Slips told me that the skill is about not being in a place where they can apply their 50/50. Then it made more sense to me. Before that knowledge I would get mad if there was an overhead or low and I guessed wrong. Then I realized that the skill of the MU is not letting yourself get put into a position where you have to guess a 50/50.

2. James Bond movies.
Coolwhip I will only give you half of a lashing about this subject. To say that the James Bond franchise has been a success would be an understatement of tremendous proportions. The only James Bond movies to not turn a profit in domestic gross are "License to Kill," "The World is Not Enough," and "Quantum of Solace." However every single movie when totaled with world wide gross has always turned a huge profit.

So you have a movie franchise from 1963 to present day that has never lost a dollar on any movie they have made and a franchise that does well world wide. This franchise has proven itself to be both timeless and successful in different cultures. You've got some amazing classics like "Goldfinger," "The Spy Who Loved Me," and "Casino Royale" to name just a few. Some of the movies are dated but most stand the test of time. Movies like Goldfinger influenced modern day classics like "Die Hard" where they took their villain who is usually supposed to be a terrorist and changed them into just being common thieves. You have "The Spy Who Loved Me" with its henchman Jaws who is very similar to current day horror super stars such as Jason and Michael Myers all three of whom never speak and are unkillable. I could go on and on but I'll wrap it up. You only receive a half of a lashing because Skyfall was absolutely horrible.
This is also the reason you can completely screw over an aggressive player when you play a character who can put you in a 50-50 the moment they're within proxmity. You can force people to play defensively when they might have a horrible defense

Meter drain glitch is not random. Its a consistent 1 frame window. Most MK9 bugs are not random, they are just consistently shite.

The watch of a false matchup cop never ends, and does not care how many drinks you've had.
Yeah I know how the meter drain glitch works (mainly because you explained it before lol), but what I was actually referring to initially was Scorpion's ex spear being inconsistent. That reminded me of Slips' set with you at UFGT so I just brought up the Meter drain glitch. Nevertheless, I will inform @GGA Saucy Jack to deduct a point from me next week due to my spreading false information.

My main point was more about the hypocrisy of the "Injustice is random" talk, when MK had a ton of glitches and some randomness (wouldn't the input bug clarify as random? If not, that's another point taken from me lol).

You know what, I'll actually give myself props for forcing you to put on the uniform once more and resume your false information policing duties. It was all a genius ploy.

It's really no different to asking how is Cage supposed to maintain offense against Kenshi without putting himself in a position to be armored out and sent 3/4 screen again. That's just a part of terrible match-ups.
But the difference being that, once you get through that, in Injustice you can be stuck in a 50/50 loop afterwards. At least Kenshi wants to keep Cage out. but Bane's perfectly happy with you being where you actually want/need to go.

I enjoy the modern take with Daniel Craig plus, Daniel Craig's Casio royal was by far my favorite of the James Bond movies.

They elevated the action to very high levels beyond other recent bonds.

I will agree that sky fall was the weakest this far of his films but it wasn't horrible.

I love the bond intros too (going to go find them all on u tube)

QoS over Skyfall really? I'm not a big fan of the Craig films & REALLLY hate the big twist in Skyfall but as a movie it was so much more complete & bettwer paced than QoS IMO

I thought Skyfall was wayyyyy better than QoS. But I enjoyed them all. Casino Royal is definitely the best and Craig is my favorite Bond.

Also new James Bond teaser get hype.
oh shit i missed it.

The quality of the story up till the twist in Skyfall was great. The music was great, the production was great etc...QoS was kind of the same except the story was weaker...but it was him going "rouge" which I liked.

I agree. I think QOS was probably one of the worst Bond movies ever made. It almost could have been a cut and paste Jason Statham action movie. Skyfall really picked it up.

Not hype at all for the new Bond, killing M the one & only woman who was constantly strong & replacing her with some dude rubs me the wrong way.

but she was so old!!!! and they introduced Moneypenny so the strong female role is just passed along not gone

What a day. What a lovely day.
I feel like "random" is the wrong word to use for INJ. When INJ first released a lot of people were thrown off by the volume of safe specials, and that led to be people doing seemingly "random" things and winning. Not random, per se, but very different (especially when you factor in the walk speed and sheer contrast to the system in MK). Now that people understand the neutral game of INJ more you see a lot less of this, but people are now focusing on 50/50's (most notably characters like Killer Frost, Batgirl, etc. who can loop you to death under the right circumstances) and still referring to this as random.

Personally, while I don't play INJ anymore (I'm honestly just not a big fan of the game) the only thing I feel is a bit random about the game is NRS's corner design. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I feel like all these corner-specific reversed inputs, crossups, etc. are pretty much NRS exclusive, and I can see how that may turn a lot of people off.

To me the issue in Injustice is the amount of "flowchart" characters you have. High level play gets away from that because the meta evolves to "flow chart disruption" and that is what injustice breaks down to.

I get mad at myself when I can't successfully break someone else's flow. Like the way Orochi zoned me out with flow chart GL vs NW or the way MMH may zone you out and overhead teleport rinse repeat. That to me is the struggle. Less random but more "Doomsday can just shoulder me for free and make me guess and reverse wakeups and no matter what he does jump over, dash over, mb shoulder, ES I can't win." When Doomsday gets his flow chart started the meta is how can you break his flow.

When he sends you full screen you're again stuck in the zoning loop until you're in again and you're stuck in the same guessing game. It's a different form of frustration.

Well, Kenshi wins at all ranges in the MU. The reason he is far away at most points in the match is

1. Most things he does send his opponent full screen including AA, comboing, successfully counter poking, etc.

2. Kenshi is more more advantageous full screen, so there is no reason to keep Cage close up where he has a few options, however few or limited they may be. At full screen he has pretty much no options, which is better for Kenshi.

P.S. the end of the podcast was great, Coolwhip was channeling Slips in storytelling skill. The ISIS comment made me nearly spit out my drink

Does anybody in the NRS scene have decent microphones and a recording space to make podcasts?
nope...this one was randomly bad for me. The first 3 I have been told were good in the sound department and sound levels were decent. I'll work to fix the issue for KTF 5.

Sorry this one was skipping some.

Other drink.

Long Island ice tea made with top shelf liquor and not that well trash.

Now if I have an option for a beer but a cider beer like angry orchid that over rides long island but most bars I go to want to give me the normal beers like Heineken, corona, stella, bud light and regular etc... those imo are shitty beers I want my cider.

actually....most bars will use their well for a long island unless specified they want top shelf liquors lol i guess it depends on the place. When i was bartender i always used our well trash (seriously it was low tier liquor lol).

So true . It sometimes depends on who is my bartender. I have paid $8.00 for premium long islands with top shelf liquor in times square nyc but if I ask for that with other bartenders they have hit me up.for over 40 bucks heh. Smfh but I understand why. Smfh

lol, someone just told me that I was bashing MK9 to "fit in."

OK let me be clear, I like MK9 more than I like Injustice. In fact, it is my favorite game of all time. I was NOT bashing MK9. But the game is glitchy. This is a fact. The point I was making is, due to the amount of glitches and inconsistencies, you actually have a bigger chance of losing to real bullshit that is out of your control in MK9 than you do in Injustice. For instance, there's no telling when the input bug might occur. If I'm playing against Cyrax and I try to D4 only to get a fucking 78 frame standing 4, guess what happens? Yeah, good games. (@GGA Dizzy is there a science behind the input bug or is it random? I've spent hours in practice mode trying to figure out a pattern and it just seems completely unpredictable).

The Scorpion ex spear is another example. I don't know if there's a science behind why it goes through the opponent's body sometimes, but let's just say that when you have two different reads to make before throwing it out (will my opponent press buttons? If he does, will the game screw me?), then there's a measure of randomness behind it.

And yeah, Dizzy's right. Technically, the meter drain glitch isn't random. If I understand correctly, it occurs if you input the move on the last frame before your opponent's move comes out. But, in the heat of battle, it's not like you're going to time it. If I get meter drained, I'm not thinking "my timing/execution sucks" (though maybe I should lol), I'm thinking "this is bullshit."

Meanwhile, in Injustice, if I block low and you go overhead, I'm going to get hit 100% of the time. If I block high and you go low, I'm going to get hit 100% of the time. There's nothing random about the outcome. You make a read/guess and deal with the results accordingly. Now, we can debate safe 50/50's, and how salty does it make someone feel to lose because they "guessed wrong" but that's a different topic.
