Like Dave said a lot of his mixups are actual bills, you don't have to hold a lot of the setups & his complete lack of a neutral game is to huge an issue for him to be high tier. In a game where footsies & neutral control is super important his slightly above average mixup & big damage ain't enough to be the Top when you characters like Adam, Manta, Supergirl, Deadshot, Fate, & others exist.

The only character for that cant doesnt really have to hold the mix is deadshot as its really hard for darkseid to get started with trait etc. I play both dave and tweedy and they both try to jump out and squirm out of my mixups and i stuff them for it, sure sometimes i mess up but more often then not they get mixed, Darkseid can control the neutral with lasers his footsies are bad. And its not slightly above average mixups lmao its like top 3 of a mix dami. Darkseid mu wise only has like 4 bad mus.

Yeah pre patch Deadshot is a losing match up. Darkseid is a weird animal. He loses a lot of match ups on paper but his mix is so good that you can overcome some bad match ups with a few correct choices. The only question is, how long can you keep guessing right?

His air teleport can be punished with a swift j1 AA or a good grounded anti air... or just walking backward. So, against a player that truly knows the match up you can only really teleport with trait out. Then Darkseid is forced to play footsies or keep someone out with beam until trait recovers. Many can roll through beam and just punish it for days. Some with long reaching MB F3 or B3s can go right though it and punish because of its long recovery. Instant air beams are a must because of the quicker recovery.

There are ways to land some knock downs and teleport in making it very difficult for your opponent to get out an attack before the teleport recovers, but some characters have great wake ups for that as well. Not to mention all the gaps in Darkseid's strings.

Darkseid has quite a few struggles but his damage out put can help you get out of certain situations.

I also agree he is just outside of that top 10 range.

I think it is good to see people in the community having such a mature conversation about the game. It sheds a good light on things and hopefully can be a positive example that is followed by others in the future.

He is absolutely saying it should be excused. This is not some case of people harping on one mistake in a library of accuracy. This is a case of Dave being wrong, a lot, and using 5 year old predictions to excuse them.

Lasers arent bad to control the neutral if ur up against a zoner its good and if u bait a mb roll they die, thats how he controls the neutral is the greatest neutral no but its not abysmal.

You're not an upplayer if you play Darkseid and have him outside of top 10. You're just not.
