Basically I want this thread to be for general matchup discussion for kenshi players. I'll go back and edit this post to make it prettier but for now I'll ask a question that I don't know the answer to. Are there any matchups where one variation stands out above the other two? Also which variation is best in the mirror?

Did Kenshi not have an MU Discussion thread? Huh. Anyways, Balanced does better vs GM than other variations because GM can't hide behind the clone ever under any circumstance except knockdown, and Balanced can punish a few on block clones with a raw rising karma into a combo.

I'm pretty sure balanced does best in the mirror but I never play the Kenshi mirror like ever lol

No? Possessed can punish clone cancels and can ignore the clone just as well. Plus possessed has actual offense so.. better MU.

The thing with Possessed is you have a chance of falling on top of the clone when you tele and you can't reflect the ice balls, you are right that he ignores clone just as well, but what I mean is that he gets the most out of his clone ignoring

He doesn't, because Balanced doesn't have any offense. SZ without the clone has better offense than Balanced.

Kenshi beats FF LK IMO. Totally negates windmill punch followups even Parry, 3/4 screen both have equal zoning, Kenshi can Parry/shoulder charge flying kick if LK wants to get in quick.

Maybe not a huge amount of OP options but Kenshi definitely makes FF play a very different way while Kenshi doesn't need to worry about too much.

I think this matchup is really about 5-5. Kang can keep pressure and can easily break armor which makes things difficult for kenshi. However, kenshi can deal with kangs zoning with reflect and he has fast pokes and armor to break pressure. I think this mu just depends on the players.

Balanced vs FF is probably even.

Balanced vs Dragon's fire is a 3-7.
He has access to a fullscreen mb flying kick that starts offense and is safe, and can't be parried. Kenshi has to respect that every time, combined with his low projectiles that dodge teleflurry. Moreover, Kenshi simply can't wakeup vs Liu. This is one of the worst matchups for Balanced. He loses everywhere on the screen.

About Cage vs Balanced, I think Fisticuffs does slightly better than the others in this matchup. Pretty ironic.

I strongly disagree with War God doing better vs Kenshi than Tarkatan.

Kenshi can punish all of War God's stuff. Tarkatan pushes his shit in.
