Because it's true. Except it's even worse. Most of the high level discussion of the game happens in secret twitter chats and discord groups. There's literally no point in arguing about the tools a character has here because you get randos shitting on you. When someone like REO or Pig do something like this they ultimately get shat and blamed upon. I can't find any reason why REO would even open TYM at this point. Look at old MK9 threads and you have people who went on to become great tournament players sharing tech and discussing the actual gameplay. Now you come here and you find online people who have never played offline or anyone at a high level crying for buffs and nerfs. And no, you don't need to win any tournament or place top 8 at every major, you just need to show that you understand what you're talking about. When I google someone like Prim and I see someone with no neutral, someone who doesn't try to play footsies, do optimized combos, or mashes without understanding the frame data trying to tell us about how Kano's tools aren't that great, then it makes me want to just stick to the twitter chats and just ask Couch Esteban instead. But that doesn't help absolutely anyone but very few people. So who has this "elitist" mentality, TYM players who can never be wrong or top players who just got tired of arguing with people who get bopped in ranked?
