so i could use some help trying to deal with A-lists pressure, maybe its just because im not used to it yet, tho i know johnny can make just about all of his cancels into blockstrings.
i dunno, i was playing against an alist with jason and it just feels like the only chance i have to win is to make that 1 right guess in the neutral and then hang on to my momentum for dear life. Any tips? not just for jason but in general since i play more than just him.
Don't ever play his game. If he starts moving backwards and throwing forceballs to bait you into a F3 Spacing opportunity just zone yourself or use armor to take the forceball and get him.
If your in the corner, do not immediately just try to jump out. He will catch you with 11, 12 or a NJP. Treat him like a SZ wait for his pressure to end and then jump out or use your own pressure to leave.
If he is using 11 or 12(1) and going for an overhead after and its obvious, you can armor out. careful low pokes are extremely risky and don't low poke until he has no stamina left.
If cage ends his block string with f244 or messes up with f34 (-12) or any mistake in general you have to respect a cage will usually go for an ex-nut punch expecting counter-pressure. Practice punishing nutpunch with your character. Literally just punishing each blocked np with fulls combos will change the scores in sets. I think Jason b3 up1 might be good here.
Only a handful of cage players in the world will be able to jail F24 off 114 and there will be a gap even when playing against the best sometimes. If they are using 114 all the time let go of block after 11 and the 4 will launch you away giving you free spacing and f24 will whiff.
Don't block low all the time, Block overhead and fuzzy the low when you see 11. If they are using D4 as part of their pressure. Block it, its -6 and their pressure is over.
End the rounds. If he has 10% health and you have 60% you still in danger of just losing. Spend the bar/get the extra damage to just end it. He can kill you fast don't underestimate how quickly he can kill you.
As Lord Jenson, the MU is tough. You can whiff punish D4 and F3 with B122 so play at that range and go from there. D1 out of 11 staggers and a blocked d4 should be responded with a b3 meaty from you into either the overhead option or the command grab. If the cage is bad and he always thinks its his turn even when d4 is blocked, then b3 will catch him for the launcher version quite a bit.
