Well, you can do it after non-EX lake mist as you emerge since there is a slight cool down on the regular versionSHIT. >=(
NoWhat I'm about to say is absolutely not constructive in a single way but I have to say it... Putting Jason in MKX (or ANY fighting game, really) is a lame idea. Jason isn't a fighter, he's a slasher. Freddy Kruger isn't a fighter either but at least he is nimble and has a more dynamic range of movement.
His run animation looks awkward and rigid, just completely unnatural. His jumping looks just as dumb. I know that there are many people that were excited about this character and who actually enjoy using Jason and that's fine. But if he ends up being top tier, enjoy winning while looking awkward and silly.
That said, his fatalities are still awesome and the horror cliches are a great touch but I can't get into attempting to play him high level when every combo makes me either cringe or laugh.
Predator will be better.
I can't check now, but I think in corner the squeeze whiffs always if b2 hits. So, given it's awesome recovery, can't we save a combo there? As you probably already know B2 into DBF 2 is a tick throw with Relentless and Unstoppable.
@karaokelove mentioned it connects when it hits are is block which is partially true.
Here is a list of who it works on, on hit.
B2 BDF2 on hit
Always works with.:
Kung Lao
Jax
Kenshi
Kitana
Scorpin
Subzero
Takeda
Cassie
Kung Jin
Kano
Johnny
Liu Kang
Reptile
Ferra Thor
Raiden
Quan Chi
Inconsistent or does not work
Goro : Does not work
D Vorah : max range only
Ermac : Works at Max range only
Erron Black : Works at Max range only
Kotal Kang : Works at Max Range only
Shinnok : Works does not work randomly
Gotta check that out....I can't check now, but I think in corner the squeeze whiffs always if b2 hits. So, given it's awesome recovery, can't we save a combo there?
And if so, is there anything for the midscreen whiff?
b2 tight squeeze whiffs in the corner.Gotta check that out....
It happened pre patch too. dbf1 has got to be one of the worst cmd grabs I've ever seen.Has anyone noticed that backbreaker (dbf 1) whiffs on both STANDING, blocking raiden and STANDING, blocking kung jin?
Try and land a back breaker on either of those two characters in practice mode, while they are standing and blocking. Did the last patch do this? I first noticed it on Sunday night but forgot to post about it. Really odd.
I'm just not understanding how it was intended to be used. It's ridiculously fast, but hits high, has mediocre range, and has way more recovery frames than Squeeze. When, exactly, is it advantageous to use back breaker over squeeze? I'm just not understanding the design. It happened pre patch too. dbf1 has got to be one of the worst cmd grabs I've ever seen.
Use it as a tick from down pokes against opponents who use normal attacks after they block.I'm gonna repost my question from the Unstoppable thread here:
Does anyone have any good uses for back-breaker (dbf 1), other than as a swaggy, damaging combo-ender? I want to use it more because it is so fast (10 frame start-up for a command grab is awesome), but the combination of it being a high as well as having very short range seems to make it whiff so often. And, even for the tick throws in which both command grabs will hit (several only connect with Squeeze), there seems to be no reason to ever use back-breaker because it has far more recovery frames, and therefore, is much easier to punish on whiff.
dbf1 and ex dbf1 could be a useful unbreakable 10f punish in some situations.Use it as a tick from down pokes against opponents who use normal attacks after they block.
ie: you face a quan that tends to use b3 after your poke (cause sometimes this move may crash down pokes) so you grab his demon neck
A gimmick: if you deal with spacing, whiff a dbf2 and follow up with dbf1.
I've played him only a few hours in casuals, so I'm sure we'll come up with more ideas, don't leave moves out, they are awesome. Even this crappy db1 might prove useful against certain aerial attacks... maybe
What is wrong with me, ofc.dbf1 and ex dbf1 could be a useful unbreakable 10f punish in some situations.
Good examples, although I believe they can neutral crouch, at least Jax can after dash punch. There is one use that seems rather consistent and thats as a pseudo-punish against a lot of moves that it can't punish. It doesn't actually punish as the opp can jump/backdash/armor but they generally can't crouch or hit buttons.
For example you can use dbf1 after blocking Jax's ex Dash punch, Goro's walk punch, Liu Kang Dragon Kick so it lets you play around with your options.
I'm not so sure . . . his air throw is pretty bad. It seems to get beat out by . . . EVERYTHING.I've played him only a few hours in casuals, so I'm sure we'll come up with more ideas, don't leave moves out, they are awesome. Lol that was awesome, is the audio delayed for anyone else in that vid? Loved the salt from saltface at the end. This was so hype on stream! xD
111 is -3 so it's safe. It is a gimmick but if they think you will do 111~squeeze and they try to jump, choke will catch them. Kush was doing alot of squeeze, so that might have put the fear into him. I feel like Saltface didn't know the matchup though because there's no way he should have got away with all those pursuit activations.Lol that was awesome, is the audio delayed for anyone else in that vid? Also why was he using 111 so much as pressure is there an actual reason? Also isn't choke unsafe on block? He was using it at the end of his string on block and it caught him a few times trying to press buttons but it seems too gimmicky.
I had no clue how to fight the match up with Mileena whatsoever. I fight & kill Jason players free with Cassie Cage because she punishes everything for free. I chose to use Mileena since I want to make her my full main character.111 is -3 so it's safe. It is a gimmick but if they think you will do 111~squeeze and they try to jump, choke will catch them. Mileena I found out in the middle of the set actually cannot punish that string or the choke on block at all. She has nothing fast enough.Lol that was awesome, is the audio delayed for anyone else in that vid? Loved the salt from saltface at the end.

This isn't a tick throw... unless you wrote it as something else I'm missingIt is a gimmick but if they think you will do 111~squeeze
Choke is -10. With Roll as reversal it's easy. If you do it 5 mins on practice, you'll never miss it.Mileena I found out in the middle of the set actually cannot punish that string or the choke on block at all. She has nothing fast enough.
Yeah, i meant to say 111, squeeze. As in after the string ends do a squeeze or mb squeeze. I like doing that alot, also 111 on hit sets up a regular squeeze (also not cancelled). I don't think roll punishes choke but b1 doesn't even hit a duck blocking mileena. This isn't a tick throw... unless you wrote it as something else I'm missing

Its animation stands out after a while and it's used in specific cancels
