Question - Tempest How would you nerf Tempest?

best nurff would be to take Foxy, King and Slayer into the back room and break their fingers.

In all seriousness.. J2 and Spin are the only things that arguably might need adjustment, but imo he is pretty fine as is... so I go with the breaking fingers nurff.

it annoys me that tempest can ex spin and spin in the same combo but the other variations can't. make it so you can only spin once in a combo ex or not.

Reduce jump 2 hitbox and decrease cancel advantage on b321 so every character can punish him for doing ex orbiting hat.

Normalized j2
Less hit advantage on throw so he can't get meaty armor break in the corner
Less pushback on EX tornado

That's really all he needs changed. Would still be S tier
he cant armour break after a throw. Unless you have a booty armour like SR Takeda or D'vorah

"Why nerf Lao why not just buff everyone else"

Because everyone else sits pretty squarely at a level that only about 2 characters are significantly (even if only slightly, still significantly) higher than, and that's Quan and Lao, and possibly Liu.

Instead of buffing 26 characters and balancing 4 new ones to be at this level, why not just bring the outliers SLIGHTLY down to the level of the rest of the cast. Yes there is always going to be a top tier, but honestly after Quan and Lao it gets SUPER debatable, this is a good thing, why not make the difference between them as tight as possible?


All Lao needs in Tempest is some extra scaling on his Hat Spin to tone his damage down a bit, and his J2 hitbox to be trimmed, it's still an amazing Hitbox just off the animation extension, it doesn't need a ghost hitbox on top of that. And maybe nerf the cancel window of 112124 (not 11212) and I think he's back on point.

His other two variations need buffs though, at the very least both should get double spin combo's like Tempest does.
 
this is a serious question why is there so much hate for kung lao. Honesty he is so over hyped.If people had their way they would cut his dick off and still say nerf.meanwhile we have the tanya ,cassie,lui kang,and mother fucking qui chi who are 10 times better.

Actually Lao can open people up "traditionally", that's his main way of opening people up. 50/50's are not a traditional thing, MKX just has a shitload of them. Don't overrate the OH/Low mix ups, Only being able to press a button against a character at -3 is a big mix-up game in itself, and Lao isn't a safe character to just sit away and block against.

Are we playing the same game here?First tell me how kung lao is op i want to know other then top playes telling you their opinion. Because i can you tell 100 ways his is not.kung lao does only one thing and that punishes for mistakes that you make.kung lao doesn't have 50/50 or unbreakable setup,or kills you while you block or vortex. Kung lao is one of the few footies base character that punishes for mistakes you make but only when he has meter.where is KL win button at?opairting hat ?you mean the move you can armor through for a full punishes.
so Kung Lao is better then Lui Kang a character doesn't care if he opens you up he kill you while you block?What about Qui Chi who only needs to hit you once to kill you?What about Tanya who can lock you down without meter?Whats about Jax or Tremor or Cassie.wait there Predator Subzero and Shinnkok .let me not start about his bad matchup.plz tell me wwhats does kung lao do that is so godlike he needs to be nerfed?
side note Mk X meta right now is all about high pressures and 50/50
