Started out as Phoenix. It was the first name I used on Halo 2 when creating an account. I always loved the mythology around the Phoenix so I stuck with it for awhile.
I got the nickname “Juggernaut” from my friends. It was both a reference to the X-Men Juggernaut, but also the Juggernaut mechanic in Halo 2. In H2, Juggernaut meant you had an overshield, so essentially an additional shield.
I used to, and still do, play a game we call “slugs”. There’s different names for it, but this is what we call it. It’s where you take turns hitting each other in the arm as hard as you can, whoever gives up first loses. I always won, still win, and have never lost. You usually end up pretty badly brused after even just one game. One day, I went up against a friend who was huge. I’m talking huge muscle wise. No one expected me to win, all bets were placed on him. It was the longest “game” I’ve ever played of slugs, probably lasted 30 minutes or so. After going back and forth, he finally gave up. Calling me insane and everything. Lifted his sleeve, already a lot of bruising and damage. Lifted up mine, very minimal damage. That’s when one of my friends was like “damn, you’re like the Juggernaut!”. And that nickname stuck.
After rocking that name for awhile, people shortened it and started calling me “Juggs”. I liked it, so that’s what I go by now, lol. I know that was a long explanation but it’s kinda a cool story.
