Grundy's 1.06 Patch Changes

The link goes to Harley's patch list. Grundy's notes claim that his pain chain cannot be parried. It doesn't say about being unclashable.

You would want to use at as a part two to the nasty corner reset game.

J2 112 ex swamp hands, ex grave rot, b1, f1 3/ f3 11 ex swamp hands, grave rot, b1 ~ grab

This set up is titled "lol"

Instead of F3 11 do another B1 then MB Swamphands which makes for a overhead low mixup that works on block. Don't do it too often or your opponent will know what you are doing.

Actually, you could. For some reason at least Batman could parry Pain Chain. Probably has something to do with being able to combo into it via juggles and specific hitstates but it also being a command grab. Glad they fixed it though, my friend would sometimes wakeup parry in the corner and I'd get my stick all salty cause you're not supposed to be able to parry grabs.

Not quite as good as I thought then. But frankly I'm glad they nerfed some bad mu's and left us alone. Grundy foreverz.

Be interested to see how we can all incorporate swamp hands into our game and increase damage further.

Gonna start trying it out in practice.

Now then, do we think BA dive kick is going to be unsafe enough to tick throw? And do we think superman laser changes mean we can scoot under him without needing to catch him in a mb SH? Or am I being too optimistic?

But yeah, not looking forward to that Nightwing match up now. I already found it difficult when playing someone who knows what they're doing with their Dick.

Dick just keeps getting harder and harder to deal with

I have trouble with him as well. What's his buffs which affect Grundy then? Sorry i'm on the move. Just interested!

laming people out is gonna be sooo fun now , chip trait on grave rots on block everything
is gonna be about 5% per tick
new reset combo ill be using
112 MB swamp hands , ji2 b1 MB rot d1 , damage trait
the trait does 43% pre patch when set up like this the first part does 30% or so
with the buffs this reset will be over 80% :)

only if u get hit u can block and they will take damage , every time i have them low on health i lame it out with this MB grave rot , grave rot , walk back , anti air throw to build meter , u will be surprised at how damaging it can be ,, also with damage trait on and this new buff the damage per tick should be around 6 or 7 % :tonyt
edit / this also teaches me some patience which as grundy i do not have

So now we can't have our pain chain wagered. - This is just excellent and it's not like they made them all like that. Seems fair does..

Damage buff to grave rot is fine. I don't use it much but it can only be a good thing. I'm thinking change the tredt slightly so. MB SH instead of j2 just do grave rot and then b1?

Eek I'm well chuffed. Particularly with the BA and superman nerfs.

The patch notes said "Parried"...NOT wagered. Ergo...Batman, Killer Frost, Zod and Joker can not parry it.
As far as more damage from the Swamp Gas goes, it's cool. Just means more than 52% with 1 meter now :D

I think Tyrant is going to have a ball with this.

IIRC d1->Trait is one of those setups you can't jump out of but it still resets the combo. Same basic concept as b1->MB Rot->Pause->Trait in that you're trying to land an unscaled Trait after Grave Rot for the damage.

Just tested it, d1 on hit can go into trait and they can't jump out. You can escape it, but the easy option of jumping out (Personally neutral jump is my go-to method for avoiding command grabs) doesn't work in this case. Thinking more about it, b1->MB Grave Rot might let you still get the inescapable Trait.

Not every player jumps out. I spent an entire weekend getting mb b3'd out of every set up.

And B1 mb grave rot does not get the inescapable trait. I tried that shit week one.

Grundy could have gotten better buffs. But these will do I guess.

I still don't understand:

Throw Immunity – Completely removed throw immunity from all projectile attacks. You can now throw opponents while they are throwing projectiles, regardless of character.

How does this help Grundy alot?
