A man with too many names.
I've been having so much fun with this beta. I also love that people are streaming it. I got my ass firmly removed, obliterated, and the tiny bits left of it handed to me by Scar. I played Maximillian in front of 5k people and didn't embarrass myself for the most part.

I'm going to hop on in a minute and stream a bit. Hope I run into some TYMers!

I mean guys, you know, KP2 is free in this beta, that`s kinda confusing...
I've been thinking about that as well ever since Thursday, and there's two possibilities that I can see:

1) They've included the Kombat Pack 2 characters to wet people's appetites, which will increase sales of the DLC upon launch.

2) They are going to include it for free with the XL update.

Personally I suspect the former, but both of these options are indeed possible.

I don't know anything about that, but I'm interested in things that make a "big difference"
I don't know if it will make the "big difference" you are looking for, but it will help with finding matches and being able to connect to them. It should also reduce the "game session no longer available" messages that occur(haven't seen any of these messages in the beta so far). I suggest people give it a try.

This guide will walk you through it all. You just need to know what kind of router you have.

I understand if you feel it's not worth your time or effort but just thought I would provide the information in case you wanted to try to see if it helps at all.

Also, you can skip the whole setting up static IP part as it is the trickiest part IMO. Just check your IP address every once in a while and when it changes just go back into your router settings and edit the port forwarding info to match your current IP..

Thanks. I literally just saw the alert after getting my static IP thing set up. I knew what a static IP was vs a dynamic one, I just didn't know making one was called Port Forwarding or that it might help make things better.

Anyway, going to try it out now.

**I know it won't save me from other people's bad connections, which I think there are a lot of.

For Stage Fatalities, can they be done anywhere on the stage, or do you need to be more near the centre?
I don't think it matters a whole lot. I haven't tried it at the extreme edges but it's pretty forgiving. I've certainly done it far off center before. Not tried on on the beta here to know if they are in.

Stage Fatalities are at least in the Beta on The Pit. I did a two match set against someone and did it in our first match. We were roughly centre of the arena. In the second match we were in the left corner and instead of doing the Stage Fatality, Kitana simply kicked him.

Of course, I could have done an input error, but I recall on the stream months back when they first revealed stage Fatalities that you needed to be closer to the centre...

I think I'm ready to join the "It's better than PS4" crowd.

Part of it may be that the competition isn't there to get me as nervous as I usually am, but I'm just not feeling near as far behind in some matches as with equal ping ones on PS4, and I don't seem to be dropping as much stuff as I do with PS4 online.

I'm also seeing more sub-100ms pings which is nice, but even the +100ms matches tend to feel much better than on PS4. Saying that and not having to pay a net access gate seems pretty nifty.

There are enough extra variables that make it hard to say for certain something isn't making it seem better when it's the same (like using different monitors) but it's certainly feeling like that. I guess I could swap monitors and turn on V-Sync, but I don't really want to and I've noticed a difference between PS4 on and offline. Here, I'm really struggling to see the difference between on and offline matches in some cases.

People need to remember that the percentage of wired users on PC is way higher than consoles. On PC only laptop users use wireless sometimes, and desktops are used way more than laptops for games. But on consoles I'm pretty sure there are more wireless people than wired.

That helps a lot in why online feels better on PC.

That's true, however, with deeper investigation the online in all platforms can be very able. In PC's case, lowering the PC Video settings can make the online stream smoothly in 60fps than the consoles' 30fps. And, of course, with no lag spikes.

If you get them wired, that makes the online very enjoyable without problems. Being wireless makes things so hard to deal with like in OmegaK's case as he mentioned earlier.

Because my PC is 1 step closer to being a beast, I had to lower the settings due of my GPU to make the online gameplay smooth.

I can't even record with Bandicam, because I fear that it might fuck up the MUs. So if any tourny happens, someone else needs to record.

The Military Sonya stage I do them in the middle, I tried near the corners won't work. The Pit can be done anywhere and the Dove also near the center. Unless this has changed for he PC version(which I doubt) but I always do it near the middle just to make sure :)

You can do the Stage Fatalities as long as you have your back against the corners. The opponent MUST be in the middle. Have done the Pit and the Dove Fatality near corners like this. They are programmed this way.

Consoles run on 60 fps as well.

On PC you have an FPS indicator when you connect to your opponent, if you see his FPS meter not on green it means he's not running at 60 fps because his PC is not strong enough, and you should decline playing against those people without even thinking about it.

Or we should inform everybody who's starting to play online to start thinking of lowering all this shit to make his FPS higher. Of course, if I see someone having shitty connection, I tend to decline him.

Oh ok, it's been a while since I've tried them but just remember trying them in the corners and not working lol but I'll try that back trick.

Might be worth noting that I'm using WiFi for the beta here and I'm saying it feels better than PS4 Wired for me. So there is at least one WiFi user in scenario B(beta) when I play with maybe two, and scenario A (PS4 wired) there is at most one WiFi user but potentially zero.

I've got my WiFi setup a bit better than I think a lot of people do, so math that out however you like.

I've not had a lot of trouble with low FPS beta users, but it was a stupid common occurrence on the PC version before now.

It's hard to say why people are willing to play that way. The game tells you it's not the greatest idea, but some people may not be able to turn off anything else. Others may not care. They want the game to look nice and running the game slow doesn't matter because that is the priority. Others may want to slow the game down because they think it's too fast. Who the hell knows what these people are thinking, but they aren't going to listen to anyone telling them anything I don't think.

I have another theory, and that's when you run low FPS you get used to the pacing. You force high FPS players to play at your tempo which they aren't really used to. I've met low FPS players that did seem to know what they were doing and it's very hard to adjust to the tempo change. Maybe that's paranoid, but given what people have shown they will do to fluff their stats, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody is doing that deliberately. Even if it was just to try and slow the game down so that the netcode could keep up better.

No matter the reason, I SHOULD be able to tell the game to pass the crap over those guys. If they just cant stand the idea of locking out low FPS online play, then at least let me hide from them. I want nothing to do with that anymore.

So MKXL on PC has been in the works for at least 4 months:
https://steamdb.info/sub/104265/history/

But apparently it's too difficult for NRS just to mention it. Instead we have Ed Boon trolling and making polls and making it sound like yeah we heard your opinions in the poll and we're listening.
Would it have killed NRS to send a simple tweet like "MKXL on PC currently in the works, estimated time: a few months. Might run into problems down the road, we'll keep you updated."

There you go. Proper communication with your customers, keep some wiggle room in case shit hits the fan, and handle it all way more gracefully than all the farcical circus that's been going on.
Exactly! I said the same thing earlier in this thread. Don't get me wrong, it's great that it's finally here, but it's taken with the biggest grain of salt ever. Seriously a stupid way to treat your customers. Why the fuck would you piss them off like that?!?!?
