Can I play this on Linux?
Do I need to already own mkx on pc to try the beta?

Right, and I intend to, just can't find it in the steam store or a DL link anywhere. Help a brother out?

EDIT nvm I found it, won't let me run on ubuntu. I'll play with workarounds this afternoon.

I have it in Win7, but here's the link.

Check the box with this following text:

"Note: Join the free MKXL Online Enhanced Beta to help us test improved online gameplay and more. Play the Beta now before it ends on Monday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. PDT!"

If you see it, then you can play it. Hope it helps.

EDIT nvm I found it, won't let me run on ubuntu. I'll play with workarounds this afternoon.

Try with Wine but im not sure if it will work didn't mess with it for ages.

played some time in beta and jax is very bad here... his damage was nerfed too mutch; for example: HW very difficult wall combo with 123 starter now gains 42% (!!!) from 48% in mkx !!! wtf is that ? i agree with nerf 11 corner spammers, agree with nerf damage of 1 bar ddp mid screen combo - it is right; but nerf a difficult combo... it is easy to drop, it has hard timing, and someone cant reproduce it in practice... i think, when i take those risks and try to do it - the reward should be better then 42% (!!!!!!!!!!!) coz it is not spamming 11 in the corner, it is very difficult... here is the combo that was i talking about

It's the beta edition. It's early to judge the game for now. We'll see when it gets finalized in the official release. For now I have noticed some wtf pass aroun d stuff here and there as GMSZ mainer.

I don't think it's been on consoles for months now. It's much worse, and I want to see how will it fare in the PC release date. I have never seen this many bugs at once as a GMSZ mainer. I know that it's the Beta edition, but... whatever. We'll see in the final game there. You need to expect that porting stuff to PC, and vice versa, has its limitations in the programming. Anything has different codes each other.

Yep, you used Assassin Kitana, for sure. I don't remember about which other characters you used. I'm mostly a Sub Zero mainer. If I had a good GPU and more RAM I would love to record the matches with Bandicam, but that's not an option due of my PC going kaput.

Just played a fun set against a player who's name I already forgot, he/she played Scorpion, BRC & Leatherface
GGS, it was a fun set despite the slowdown - horror matches ftw!!

AMD/NVIDA have their own recording software that barely makes an impact on performance.

Can't confirm about AMDs but with Nvidia's shadowplay you only lose like 1-2 frames lol.

Because they had HVS at that time and after he got fired they had no motivation to find another like QLoc to fix all this mess HVS left behind?

BTW, I'm waiting for a good offer for NVidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti and above for a solid 1080p/60fps.

980ti for 1080p/60fps is overkill. Especially for a game like MKX xD

980ti is a 1440p/60fps card.

Of course unless you are playing other games but if its only for MKX, just get something like a rx470/460

I want for all games. I happen to play even hardcore games like Outlast, The Witcher, etc.

I'm waiting for the best deal for any 980 and more GPU to finally get rid of my 550 Ti.

Highly overclocked 980ti was enough for MK X at 4K resolution and rock solid 60 fps. Was using 2 of those back then (thou MK X doesnt support SLI so only one was used).

MKX isnt really that demanding. I can run it at 60fps on a 765m @ 1080p medium settings lol.
