If you closely watch the red indicator it actually gives you the parry window right there. Regardless of how fast/slow the attack is, right before it connects the red indicator actually flashes briefly, that is your parry window.
Okay but what do I do to execute said parry?

Alright! Someone give me the specific input for when you wanna parry.
Like are you asking how you parry?

If so, when you see an incoming attack, whichever stance they're attacking goes red. For some amount of frames, the red indicator will blink or be brighter, that's when you can parry. So when you see this indicator, while blocking on that stance, press your heavy attack button and you will parry it.

So essentially, block the attack correctly and press heavy when you see the brighter/flashing red indicator.

To be more clear, you don't block first then parry. But you have to match their stance as if you're regular blocking, and before impact you'll see the indicator and that's when you press heavy.

In the regular tutorial it doesn't even mention how to parry which is pretty dumb. In story mode it tells you how though.

Thank you, and now that I'm seeing it, man that window is big. After parry shield breaks are untechable for the most part yea?

Yes, guard break after a parry is untechable. Unless you run out of stamina I believe, which makes it slightly slower and allows them to tech.
After a parry a guard break is guaranteed HOWEVER, keep in mind some characters like the Kensei and the Nobushi have longer range than everyone else and if you parry them and go for guard break you may very well just miss and they get out of jail for free.

Yeah some characters can't guard break after a parry because they're out of reach, like wise on some characters it's harder to guard break after a parry. I'll probably make a list if I can get one of you guys to help me test who all can GB after a parry, and who all you can't GB after a parry.

AFAIK literally every character can guard break after a parry, but not every character has the same guard break ranges.

I will be making up a list soon though of what you can get after guardbreaks, cause there are big winners like Nobushi who gets top heavy which does like 30% life, and losers like Raider who at most can get a light attack :(

Okay, am I the only one who finds the fact everyone who has a unblockable mid-chain can do it off blocked attacks EXCEPT LB incredibly damn stupid?

I was playing him earlier. He has no block chains AT ALL and he's stupid slow. I need to be more defensive me thinks.

Is it just me or has the overall skill of the playerbase dropped dramatically since beta, I used to at least have interesting/fun matches back then, now it's tedium to the point of knowing exactly what someones about to do, but not giving enough of a shit to put up a fight.

Having a million people who never played the game before will do that. Just keep winning and you will get matched against better opponents.

I just started using him. He's easy to use and win with honestly. And he fits my play style and he's a badass Samurai with a Katana, lol
I started using him awhile back and I thought that as well. It's true for all the assassins they are easy to use and win with against bad players. The problem is (especially with orochi) they are very one dimensional and once you know how to beat them they are free wins. That's why I mainly stopped playing as them

Okay, after more practice duels and starting to come into my own as a LB with their gimmick, alright, if you have someone stupid enough to either A, get hit by a Heavy, or B, thrown into a wall and then heavied, they hold their own easily, but the likelyhood of that is... Yeah.

had some time playing this game, how do I combos in for honor?
commands say press L3 and R1 or L3 and R2 at the same time, but nothing special comes out?
The only poke that comes out is the same when I only press R1 or R2 on the PS4 pad.

Im confused.
