I'm talking about all communties, not just capcom. We have Ryan heart, Kuruso, Koichi, Tokido, Kanq, Floe, Mike Z etc.
LBSH there are only 2 communities that matter.
MK community & Capcom community, in the end nobody gives a fuck about things like P4A or KOF, even Tekken. None of them have the heart for their games like we do.

Without the Capcom community tournaments would just shrink and fail, and the MK community has made itself into something worthy through being shat on by everybody else and still standing strong.

I severely doubt that. Most of the fundamentals that fighting game players develop come from SF. It would't surprise me if a top SF player took the first tournament.
This is absolutely 100% untrue. Most of the CAPCOM players have developed their fundamentals from SF. MK players can't develop fundamentals from a game that's fundamentally different.

People who have the fundamentals that you speak of will just completely trash injustice like they did with MK, because it's automatically bad if it's not fundamentally the same as street fighter.

Our local scene has a marvel player that won FF a couple years ago, and a few AE players that have beaten some really big names. Guess what happened when they played MK? Their capcom fundamentals didn't transfer over.

QFT, the only fundamental I think is universal amongst all fighters is spacing.
'Fundamentals' vary from game to game.

I wouldn't say 100 percent untrue. Things like AA, and spacing originated from SF and are universal to almost all fighting games. Your comment is a bit over exaggerated, but I see where your coming from. Nonetheless, I'd still bet that an SF (well known player) would win the first tourney.

A side note - Justin and Chris G did pretty well in a couple of the first few MK9 tournaments if I remember right.

This is real easy for any MK fans.

More people playing IGAU, means more success for NRS. More people to buy, critique and promote IGAU means more money for NRS, more experience for the developers and overall a better footing for NRS in the fighting game community.

Even if you hate IGAU, don't wish it to fail or have a smaller fan base as this will only hurt the chances for MK10.

Pathetic how defensive this community is. FC gets mentioned so that the capcom player base is appealed to. NRS already has the MK9 player base convinced which is why they don't need special attention.

Also, I wouldn't be so confident MK players. When you get blown up by cross ups and wake up tactics, we'll see who has an easier time transitioning into this game.

I don't know why everyone is bitching about this.People who usually play other games and are considered a top player in their community wants to be involved in this game.Wether you love or hate them it is going to bring more support and i for one think this is awesome! Fchamp is le douche, but i think it will help the hype also considering Jwong and PR Balrog have also shown interest. It's going to help this game grow isn't that the whole piont? This game belongs to not one group, community, or scene.I'm sure some one care and others don't either way it should be good news come on people. They are getting these threads because its saying "Look people this game is bringing in well known people from other FGCs and its going to be beautiful.Injustice hasn't come out and its already seemingly bringing communities together."

I'm 99% sure that Las Vegas is one of if not the easiest place to get to/stay at in all of the US.

It's a city based almost entirely on tourism. The hotels are cheaper there than anywhere else that I have ever been, and you can always find a room considering there are so many hotels. There are also a lot of flights there, considering how huge of a tourist/vacation destination it is.
Imagine all the pokerplayers for the world series of poker not finding a room in las vegas lol

Well, maybe 100% untrue was exaggerated, but anyway, here's a few examples.

I disagree that spacing is the same. Try throwing out wiffed normals while you're jockying for position in MK. Tell me how many times you try it before you completely stop because it's getting you babied.

People have a misconception that a block button means there are no cross overs, and therefore MK players will not know how to deal with deep cross overs and such. This is not true. You need to know about the fundamental differences with the games. Capcom games don't have AA that lead to devistating 30 - 40% combos. MK does. MK also has chip damage on normals and terrible throw teching mechanics. What this means is that in AE, defene of a cross over is just blocking the right direction, blocking the norals afterwards, and reading a throw. In MK, you need to react in a way that lets you hit your opponent out of the air rather than block it. It's not in your best interest to block a cross over because it's almost a guaranteed throw, or eating chip from frame traps / 0 on block strings.

MK has wakeups, that aspect isn't really any different at all, so I can only assume the guy that mentioned MK players dealing with wakeups probably has never played MK.

Don't care...i don't underestimate the champions of our community.

We have top quality players, they're not mainstream but we have great players.

LOL @ the cross up ambiguity ideas.

Obviously nobody knows how this game plays until day 1. But Injustice will have damaging AA combos to discourage jumping so much, dont really see that in things like SF4. Since NRS is taking the buff everything nerf nothing approach, I can definitely see there being some disgusting AAs.

Anti cross overs & Armour are an MK9 thing, that players have nothing against as a gameplay mechanic, highly doubt they will be out of Injustice.

Does anybody know anything about the wakeup system? Because any similarities to MK9 and the whole SF4 knockdown jump setup is destroyed. None of these fundamental SF things worked in MK9, and not because we have a block button. So why is everybody all of a sudden thinking they'll work in IGAU when history has shown us that NRS dont roll that way.

I'm not a DC fan, but I'm a major supporter of the MK9 community (I owe them alot) and NRS. So I for one aint gonna let a load of Capcom people come in and think they'll be the shit, just because.

Not a single MK player should have the bow down attitude about this.

MK9 players won't get blown up by crossups. Know why? Because MK9 combo strings are spammable. Applying crossups means getting to a precise distance from your opponent and having that opponent be stationary long enough to jump over them. This will be very tricky with string spamming. Also, most crossups in a game like SF4 come after a knockdown. MK9 doesn't allow you to pressure people on knockdown like that. Plus, with projectile spam that doesn't trade it will be even harder to get to your crossup positions. The strongest characters in Injustice will be what strong characters have always been in a 2d MKteam system, where projectiles don't trade: whoever has strong tools from a distance, anti air move or special anti air from mid range, and broken pressure tools up close that leads back into mid range domination and or running away to the safety of far spamming. It's a circular logic of brokenness. MK2 Mileena, Liu Kang follow this. MK3 Usub, and Kabal follow this. Umk3 Kabal, and Human smoke follow this. And MK9 Kabal, Kenshi and others follow this. It's a result of non trading projectiles.
No trading projectiles wtf game lacks fundamentals I hate it.

Fact i there's tons of things that make this game obviously more favorable from people coming from a previous NRS game. That's not saying good players can't adapt.

People who are whining that people are bitching... uhh, yeah.. we're not bitching... we're discussing whether or not we think capcom players will have the upper hand off the bat. No one is trying to say people should or shouldn't play injustice.

Regarding adaptation, yo need to understand that the ability to adapt and willingness to adapt to something you don't like are not the same thing. Hence, another reason for the separation of communities. I don't want to adapt to ambiguous unblockable / way too many safe specials, jsut as capcom players don't want to adapt to some of the things that MK has.

STORMS, there's literally no justification for why being good at mvc3 would make him better than everyone at injustice. There are much closer parallels to mk.
Also, my thread neither broke rules nor was problematic for the game or community. Carl actually did say he'd be the champ with batman so it was also truthful. Honestly, since MK and IGAU are closer systems and DOA is back to block, i'd say carl is much more likely to be dominant than champ.
The point of my parody thread was to show how arbitrary it is to make threads for every top player who says they're going to play the game. You proved that by closing it, but your "recommendation" at the bottom of your post also shows that you're petty. Ban me if you want, but know that if you do it is not for any justifiable reason, and that you're getting rid of a part of the community for communing. #illuminati

This game needs the Capcom community, without it it'll will just be another secondary/third stream game that has its finals streamed at 9 AM, the fact that players like Champ, Wong, Chris, Fanatiq, RayRay, Moons ect are exited to play the game is a great sign

you've missed the entire point of this article. Since Ryan played the game and said that about Sinestro... it's about hyping up the game. That's all.

We saw the other community's players trying MK9, and they did okay for a moment. TBH most will side board IGAU for their primary game.

And given that, I would not mind seeing someone try to beat a MK regular champ at MK- And such I could derive the same amount of glee from seeing any one or all of the top MK players trying to beat F Champ, ChrigsG or whoever is big in the other games at their chosen games....

Boils down to who will really dedicate the time and effort.

IF these "other" scenes players really dedicate to IGAU, then they will likely do very well. They are after all solid players... it's not like their fingers will stumble over unfamiliar inputs for long.

IF they do, then they are a part of the IGAU scene, and that is good for this scene.

But I still they will take it to maybe one or 2 big tourneys and quit for their real passion, whatever game that may be.

I for one am to poor to ever EVER make it to any major further away than Seattle, and almost never am able to make the monthly/casuals... so W/E I just hope the online function works.
