F Champ Receives Lifetime Ban, Racism in the FGC/USA, and Other Prevalent Social Discussions

This wasn’t a response to your test; I’m just addressing the situation as a whole, and how silly it is that some people think you can fit the entire country into two categories.
How silly is it to fit the country into categories of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation?

At this point I’m just tired of it, and it’s a distraction in every social discussion from addressing the stuff we need to fix.
The stuff that needs to be fixed has been identified on numerous occasions in this 58 page thread. People disagree on the solutions, at least on the ones that have been shared thus far.

I see people talking about mentioning solutions. Here are some things I think would be beneficial to society as a whole. Don't count on me being very articulate.
At least you're posing solutions, that's always appreciated.

Ending or at least dramatically relaxing the war on drugs.
I totally agree. From a pure cost/benefit standpoint we spend a ton of money going after and locking people up, and don't have a lot to show for it. I'd rather they re-allocate those resources to treating addiction.

The welfare system needs to be replaced or reformed. Too many people are punished for trying to work their way out of poverty. Currently it promotes reliance. Some refer to this as the "welfare trap".
I agree some reforms would be good. Creating a national guaranteed income could be one interesting way to do it. I think fears of a "welfare trap" are overblown though. Typically I see Welfare Trap used as an excuse to simply remove social safety nets, and that's something I don't want.

We need more politicians that are actually concerned with the national debt.
Agreed, although politically this is very difficult. Taking care of the debt would involve long term solutions, and would likely mean both raising taxes and cutting spending for popular programs like Military, Healthcare, Social Security, and other large programs.

Would love me some low taxes lol.
You're in luck, America has very low taxes compared to most other developed countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_tax_revenue_to_GDP_ratio

...how else could you conceivably categorize a country? Height and weight? Their favorite Pokémon? Whether or not they have hands? Because minus sexual orientation, that's literally exactly how the Census works.

That might be the most perplexing thing I've read in this entire thread, and that's including Upside-Down Ben Shapiro.

Then do not complain about being labeled a collectivist or Marxist.
Bro, how does EVERY FUCKING THING with you lead back to labeling people and Marxism, but you still have NO answers when the people you label question you back?

A fat woman came into the shoe store today...
Labels are all over this thread.

-right wing
-black
-Trumpian
-trans
-authoritarian
-Nazi

Marxist isn't special.

I categorize a country by a set of principles and values and by a common culture and history. Whether someone is a man or a woman, black or white, native or foreign born, straight or gay is completely irrelevant to me.

Please practice what you preach or at least recognize your hypocrisy. You have done nothing but play identity politics in this thread for 59 pages, yet the moment someone labels you politically and ideologically, you complain.

I would think only to be offended by being called a Marxist because Dave clearly takes his definition of it from stunning morons like Jordan Peterson. Lol at thinking "identity politics" has anything to do with the concept.

Yes but even if you personally don’t like some of these identifiers they are necessary In some areas. There is a reason it’s on your drivers license/identification card. Now in terms of applying for a job, and certain other scenarios then yeah, I don’t see why you need to know that I’m black, 5’11, or that I’m straight. But it absolutely matters in other cases.

You are constantly talking about Marxism and the left and sticking labels on people nearly every post you make in this discussion while at the same time berating me, Crimson, Boi, and everyone else who's called bullshit. THAT'S playing identity politics.
I have not made a single post or statement here I am not willing or able to back up with facts or sense. Not one. Meanwhile, you have been ducking and dodging every single challenge I've made to you over being guilty of the exact thing you claim that they and I have been doing. You are taking your shots literally right out of the Karl Rove playbook.
But I'M the hypocrite. Even though I've said a dozen fucking times and even made a formal disclaimer saying that I am not and have never been a Marxist, nor do I swing nearly as far to the left as you would like to make others believe. I'm a hypocrite. Okay.

Don't take the bait. The bait is to get us arguing over fancy buzzwords and not talking about the social issues. The issues are plain and simple:
  • Racism/classism
  • Institutionalized systems of discrimination
  • Inequality in the treatment of law enforcement/the criminal justice system/education/hiring/etc.
  • The lasting effects of slavery and post-slavery dehumanization in America
  • The balance of freedom of speech vs. social and ethical consequences for harassment and bigotry
Don't let people distract you into arguing semantics -- debate on the issues themselves. Because anything else doesn't get us anywhere useful.

Everyone should take this advice, for real. I yell about semantics because I've always been a guy who yells about the semantics, but you're very very right.
It just astounds me that I'm still having the same gaslit, go in circles until you're tired and give up, I'm doing exactly what I'm accusing you of except I'm right because your words mean nothing argument in 2020 that I was having in high school in 2003, except now instead of brown people and terrorism, it's black people and classism. Shit never changes and it makes me sad.

I was like this man is NOT having it today! Lmao
BRO I AM REALLY NOT. Lmao.
Got myself so mixed up that I tried to take the argument to bed instead of the debate stage. Not a good look for me.

Can anyone provide some more reliable info on Portland? Listening to Bill Barr try and defend sending in the armed clowns is turning my stomach, but I have very little idea of how it ended up becoming the focal point of all the protest tension, and I would feel remiss talking about it if I wasn't informed. I watched just about everything that unfolded from May until they broke up the CHAZ in Seattle, but I don't know how the bullseye actually landed on Oregon.

Kinda wanted to talk about Kanye a little bit. Its fun to meme him, but everyone talks about how mental illness should be treated seriously and the mentally ill should be treated with respect but nobody has any sympathy for Kanye. He obviously needs help and is clearly suffering, mental illness doesn't care if you're rich or successful. Not targeting anyone here in this thread, was just in my car listening to music and Graduation is still one of those albums with multiple songs in my weekly rotation.

It ends up being a bit of a rorschach test, IMO. Similar to other situations, I assume most protesters are peaceful and have good intentions. However, whenever you have these types of large groups charged with a lot of emotion, it can turn into a mob scene. And mob's are an ugly thing, even if born from good intentions.
The issue is trying to balance out letting people protest peacefully, while at the same time not letting things get too out of hand where federal buildings are being destroyed. Do you send in federal officers to try and protect the buildings? Or does sending in the federal officers actually make things worse by escalating things?

I’ve actually seen people talking about not giving him sympathy because he has the means to seek help but doesn’t. I’m not gonna insult him or shame him but if anybody has the ability to get the medication/therapy they need it should be him. I don’t know what the people in his camp are doing since they should also be trying to help the man. ALSO please keep in mind that these “outbursts” always seem to occur when an album of his is coming out, bad publicity is still publicity.

There's some validity to the publicity aspect but a person with a mental illnesses that affects their decision making doesnt have the same thought process as you may, like seeking help when you have access to it. A drug addict with access to rehab may not always take it unless prompted. A morbidly obese binge eater with access to a gym or healthier food options may not take it, a smoker may not stop smoking even after seeing scans of the damage done to their lungs. Those are all addicts obvioisly but if Kanye truly is bi polar like people like Kim Kardashian are claiming, especially if he is more on the manic side, he may not be thinking logically.

I can understand your point. Cuz although I’m saying he has the means to you can’t force the guy either

Also a huge fan of Kanye's old works. Honestly, I don't think he's suffering from any illnesses (well, to be fair, that's probably for a qualified psychiatrist to diagnose). I think he's just a smart guy staying relevant in the media and adding to his fortune in the process. He is managing to be relevant even without his music.

Kanye was never as wealthy until he start acting nuts, dating Kim, causing political stirs, and working in fashion. I don't recall him ever achieving this level of success when he was an old school backpack rapper.

My thinking is he just realized he had to do other stuff to stay relevant given how music sales have declined over the years.

I truly believe it was as a result of his mom dying, that’s when his mental health started deteriorating
