That's the thing, I mostly agree with the fact that the US has a sistemic racism problem, that blacks and other people of color have and still endure lost of bad things, that white privilege is a thing no matter how much others want to deny it, and lots of other stuff. And I only say mostly as, not being from the US, there's a disconnection that I'll always have not being able to see it or live it myself. I'm just baffled with the fact that people in this thread can justify saying "fuck white people" is ok. And even you who said it was wrong, it took you a few pages to say it, and added a "but..." after it.
The whole thing is so counter productive, saying things like that will only generate hate and resentmen from the other side, and you can't win without them.
You're absolutely right on all counts.
I took a few pages to say it because I had to put properly in words how I feel about it, and I added that "but" on the end of it because people need to understand that if there's any kind of anger that can go deeper than prejudice and bigotry, it's the anger that's held against the bigots themselves, not only over their actions but over the irreparable damage those actions have left behind.
I make no bones about the things I say or why I say them. People should take notes. I don't mean you, though, and I appreciate the statement giving me a chance to clear myself up.
It also goes toward the point I've been making for months that keeps never being elaborated on by certain individuals, about how there's no way in God's green Earth that the left in America is as dangerous or toxic as the right.
Is either side completely innocent?
Absolutely not, which is why I don't take sides or pick teams.
But is one side, as documented by history itself, dominantly and decidedly worse than the other by every stretch of the imagination?
It would certainly appear so.
Also, off-topic, but if I have to hear this orange moron cry about Communism and Socialism one more fucking time at one of these dumb ass rallies, I'm going to rip out my damned ear drums.
Because whining about problems that don't actually exist while ignoring the ones that do worked so well in the 2018 midterms, when he and his party ignored the chance they had to campaign on the economic upswing and instead devoted all his attention to fear-mongering about how the caravan was going to cause anarchy and everyone was conspiring against him.
Which led to the House GOP losing the biggest midterm defeat in the history of modern elections.
Which led to him pitching a fit and shutting down the government over the fucking wall.
Who on the left, I ask for the thousandth time, is as dangerous as this man and the part of the political spectrum that supports and enables him?
I've been waiting since June for someone to answer this question, and I fear that answer will never come.
No one being innocent does nothing to change the fact that one group of people is decidedly and, at this point, shamelessly more responsible for the problems we face today than the other.
And it sure as shit isn't Antifa or the radical left.
If that bothers you, tough shit. You bothered guys are the ones who seem to be all about picking sides. Guess some of y'all picked the wrong one.
