I think you would be surprised. At my university, I had a professor who told the class that you cannot be racist towards white people because the people who were in power in the country were white; therefore, only white people could be racist. He said the same thing regarding men, women, and sexism. It wasn't a small independent university either. This is what thousands of people are being taught in places meant for higher learning. These are strange times we're living in.

Prisons absolutely have a place in society. Perhaps there should be change on how prisons function, but the core concept of prisons needs to stick around. For every criminal that is rehabbed, there's another who goes out and re-offends.

Look at New York as of late. Bunch of inmates released early due to COVID. Surprise - crime rates in NY have gone up significantly. Garbage on the streets everywhere, crimes happening, used drugs and condoms all over the place, residents leaving, etc...

I'll give you #4. I love my LGBT friends to literal death, but to me, being non-binary and being transgender are two completely seperate and distinct things. Like the police who investigate crimes and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders in Law & Order.

That's the thing, I mostly agree with the fact that the US has a sistemic racism problem, that blacks and other people of color have and still endure lost of bad things, that white privilege is a thing no matter how much others want to deny it, and lots of other stuff. And I only say mostly as, not being from the US, there's a disconnection that I'll always have not being able to see it or live it myself. You're absolutely right on all counts.
I took a few pages to say it because I had to put properly in words how I feel about it, and I added that "but" on the end of it because people need to understand that if there's any kind of anger that can go deeper than prejudice and bigotry, it's the anger that's held against the bigots themselves, not only over their actions but over the irreparable damage those actions have left behind.
I make no bones about the things I say or why I say them. People should take notes. I don't mean you, though, and I appreciate the statement giving me a chance to clear myself up.

It also goes toward the point I've been making for months that keeps never being elaborated on by certain individuals, about how there's no way in God's green Earth that the left in America is as dangerous or toxic as the right.
