Cetrion can punish Erron Black's AMP f4 with her f1...pretty huge since cowpokes love to just do that shit constantly.

I can’t get the amp geyser, teleport, 11, f13 geyser.

Fuuuuuuck.
It took me a good amount of practice. You have to wait a weird amount of time after the EX geyser, then do the tele, then quickly dash forward and 11. They have to have been at pretty much max height when you hit them with the 11 for the f13 to connect.
If you do AMP same side teleport the 11 lands directly under them for 11, F13 if you wanna take the easy way out and can spare the D Bar. I use it alot to keep my wall carry consistent.

It doesn’t take a genius to see it’s not a projectile. So erron is an earth realmer with magic bullets all of a sudden!? Like seriously NRS! Geyser is an immobilising special like vines so it should work in the same way and same applies to Jade’s purple glow being immune to it although I’m more inclined to let that slide cause she’s at least edenian with magic abilities lol.

as m2dave put it, it is probably even but needs to be treated like mk9 kung lao. i currently have at as an even matchup.

a few things to consider.

  • if you have a read on teleport jump back and punish.
  • don't be passive, do jump kick for no reason mid to full screen and cancel to away teleport or beam
  • try to play outside of scorps normal range.
  • check f34 with wall. if it hits you get a meaty dash up f1
  • practice the timing to punish normal and amp teleport. there is a timing that will punish both.
  • block scorp spear standing and reversal with geyser for a punish. much easier to do than from a duck making spear whiff
  • don't try and move after he hits u with a d4 bc he can check all movement
  • practice perfect blocking f34 stagger string

Thanks for the tips, I'll try them out.
One question tho, what's the point of flawless blcking f34? Last time I checked you couldn't get anything out of it, neither U2 neither U4, and if i recall correctly, frame advantage of that move did not change on flawless block. So, what's the point? What am I missing?

Even I can shoot water with my eyes closed, get better scrub

You have to learn how to time Ice Balls w/ vine (AMP it if you mistimed it) and eventually they'll respect you enough to not hc

Regarding your considerations:
  • Having a read requires you to condition the opponent and one wrong read and you eat 35%. Barely a viable option unless you completely have him read. One too late TP or Beam cancel and his sword dings you mid air and that's it.
  • Both of those options require meter to be viable which is too expensive just to get in.
  • That's fair, but even wall checking is a risk from far range because one read wall and you eat a full spear combo.
  • Most scorps don't just blindly F3 so wall checking is kinda pointless. They do is as mid string pressure usually post-knockdown once they have your getup patterns down. Flawless Blocking does nothing for F3,4 so basically baiting them to try to grab you is your only option. Press a button trying to punish the empty F3 and the 4 will KB you for full damage...
  • That's a must, but Reborn puts a dent because now if he conditions you to block on TP he gets his turn for free on cancel.
  • Best suggestion to condition them.. will be practicing that.
  • Cet doesn't really have limbs to disrespect him the way he does w/ his sword normals so giving him his turn back is his best bet until he burns out.
  • As said before, borderline useless as far as I know.
It's come to the point where I might have to pick up a pocket character. At least online, everyone and their mom has a pocket reborn scorpion and immediately reverts to him the second they lose a round/set. I really really hate mirror matches.. but better YOLO teleport war than have 80% of your options entirely shut down.
 
In combos 21 and f12 scale less than 11. That means we should be punishing with 21 or f12 when kB are not available.

Raw geyser, teleport, f12, f12 actually does more damage than the teleport, 11, f12 punish.

Also something else. If u use long input window and want to be able To cancel backdash to a f2 without getting high rock do bb, roll half moon forward and hit f2. U can almost instantly cancel the back dash to blow up poking.

How do you guys handle the Liu Kang MU? I've tried everything but I just can't do it. I can switch to Skarlet and dominate it, but with Cetrion it's the worst next to Scorpion. How do you guys play it?

Basically, up close I can't push anything because the F4 string mix-ups and the standing punch string mix-ups, mixed with grab. Too many options. Far away I struggle to zone because of all the fireballs and full screen kick that hits KB. I dunno how to play this one at all.

Close up it's a nightmare for Cetrion.
You need to practice the timing on flawless block his plus string, it's full combo punishable if u do it. If u time it good enough, u should be protected from the low fireball too, but you gotta really have that shit down.
The only way that worked for me with Liu Kang is conditioning him to not throw his flying kick via nature barrier. Once you have him scared, it should be relatively easy to outzone him, but you'll need a read here and there versus his flying kick, it allows him to close the space really fast, but if you are able to block it, it is full combo punishable too.
