Me and Star used to play frequently, but he fell off the face of the earth for a quick minute, apparently he's back now. He was the first Catwoman I had ever played that was smart, so he would body me as we played. We need to play again, there's a LOT I've learned about the match through games with Bit and Rainbow. I look forward to it C:

Ok I'm going to ask, in a civil manner because I'm not trying to start anything here, that people stop misquoting others or deciding that the others are implying something else they've made up. This happens way too much on this site and for no reason. Ra is not saying, and has not said at all in the entirety of this thread, that the strategy for Catwoman is to let Bane hit you to build meter. That's just plain stupid and fabricated so you can make him sound stupid or blow him up, whether intentional or not I don't care, it needs to stop. Ra is saying that if you get hit by Bane, which is obviously going to happen at some point, you will build meter for it. That's all.

It's still a silly thing to bring up when you're saying the match-up isn't as bad as many say. He's literally saying: "Spend meter for extra damage in your combos because you'll get that meter back anyway when Bane hits you." Now, when you realize that you already get plenty of meterless damage, and the extra damage is 4% tops, and when Bane hits you, he's taking half your life, AND you need that meter for MB3's (probably Catwoman's best tool), how is it not stupid advice?

Yeah, he's not saying let Bane hit you on purpose so that you get meter, but what he's saying applies to literally every match-up ever (you get meter when you get hit), and in this match-up, spending meter for damage is not a good idea.

It only amounts to an extra 4% if the Bane player is traited up. If he's on debuff when you catch him in a combo it may very well be worth the extra meter to tack on as much damage as possible.

Everyone likes to take things out of context here, like suggesting he said to let Bane hit you as a strategy or I said to let him take the first lifebar when discussing the minimum amount of times per match he has to get in on Zod. It's beyond retarded to dumb down the arguments of others instead of strengthening one's own and it's all you'll ever see around here. The NRS community isn't the red headed stepchild of the FGC because of our games but because of US.

Again, building meter while being hit is universal and not match-up specific. Nobody's thinking "oh good, I'm building meter" as Bane takes half your life. You DO need that meter for MB3 and later, clash. She NEEDS meter against him, and not for damage. How is that debatable? Also, how often do you see Max eating a combo while being on debuff? A good Bane player will seldom get opened up at the worst possible moment.

Nobody's taking shit out of context and please, for fuck's sake, save me the self-loathing inferiority complex lecture of "oh, nobody takes us seriously. The NRS community is a joke, bla bla bla." Capcom guys don't care about the NRS community because we're not Capcom. Not because of TYM drama. Get real. And seriously, at this point, nobody cares. I'm pretty sure idiots get called idiots in every community. This isn't exclusive to us.

Jesus this place is dumb recently.

tl;dr Catwoman can theoretically win against Bane, but only if she makes a hell of a lot more right reads than he does, which realistically is not going to happen very often.

Sounds like a textbook 3-7 to me.
