His best AA's d2, standing 2, mbb3 (probably the best option), and black magic. I reccomend doing Black magic from a bit of a distance though. Standing 1, d1 and d2 are going to be your best interrupts for getting out of pressure and trying to gain back advantage. His wake up lightning cage is good but use it with caution, because there are characters with safe jump options to stuff it, and if it whiffs it's really punishable.Random question out of the blue: what kind of defensive options(anti-airs, interrupts, wake-ups, etc) does Black Adam have?
It's a pretty good AA actually, and you can get 40%+ easily off of it raw. F3 works too but not quite as well. Lightning Cage does have a good bit of invincibility on startup, so it's a good wake up option that people will have to respect. It's safe on block and if you ex it you can get a combo on hit, and it's positive on block too.Huh, I hadn't considered MB b3 at all, actually. Probably because I kind of decided that BAs b3 sucked after comparing range to most other characters. D:
As for Lightning Cage, I wasn't aware that worked as a reversal. I take it actually has some invincibility, then?
Thanks for the reply. =)
You are right on just about all of that except that it's not so much that Black Adam is lacking up close as it is that he just needs to use frame traps/counter hit setups to open people up. B1 is good since it's +4 on block and has very little pushback. B1 into trait is also very good, on hit you can't combo or anything, but you have trait so it's not necessarily a bad thing lol. f2 and f23 are also pretty good, but you can't really do much after them on hit. However they are both positive on block. You should also most definitely be mixing in throws and lows to keep people in check who are just high blocking all day.I'm having a hard time in the neutral game, at like mid/close range. Maybe that's just where BlAdam is lacking? I feel like I can't really approach/poke with anything, because it jus gets beat. 22 seems too slow, 11 is of course a high, and is too short. B23 is okay, but once again pretty slow. (I do need to work on my spacing with this though.) In the past few games I've played I was trying to work on B1. I'm hoping this is the tool I need to be using more, but i'm not sure. I'm pretty much in need of a good mid, so hopefully this is the answer once I get better with spacing it.
Do you guys use this? If so, how? Do you bother using b1~trait? do you just do b1 ~ black magic or shock? (shock on green arrow/cat woman) What do you do after trait? (on block) Should I be mixing up throw/high/low?
I don't think it has invincibility. I got it to trade on the first few active frames with Catwoman's J2.In a Black Adam mirror I got hit a few times by a wake up Lightning Storm. It seemed to have some frames off invincibility to my surprise. But I haven't really tested it.
I've been saying this for weeks! Lol finally a response!Surprisingly, jumping 1 seems to be a good air to air attack allowing a small combo afterwards, if helps vs opponents you know will be jumping at you a lot.
Maybe everyone just thought you were joking .I've been saying this for weeks! Lol finally a response!
Back dash. Its one of his best things.Looking to pick up Black Adam.
Can any one give me his general strat and some tips? It'd be much appreciated.
He's great at punishing mistakes due to black magic, b2,3 and MB bootstomp, his combos are really damaging, and he has an extremely scary vortex due to his powerful cross-ups from d2 and MB bootstomp, as well as post-combo bomb setups. Thanks to his trait he's got some really good frame traps, and on top of that his zoning is decent.Looking to pick up Black Adam.

Go into training mode and work on it. When you see the words wake up appear on the screen is when you got it. You have to time it to start as he is getting up.How the fuck do you wake up with lightning cage. its so on and off.
I keep getting blown up because I expect it to fucking work.
I keep mashing the bloody think but Batman keeps throwing me, he keeps J2ing me. Its so annoying.Go into training mode and work on it. When you see the words wake up appear on the screen is when you got it. You have to time it to start as he is getting up.
That is something I like about this game tbh. You can't just mash and get full invincibility on a move. It's just a matter of practice really. Also, expect to get thrown out of wake ups a lot because for some reason they are hella meaty in this game lol.I keep mashing the bloody think but Batman keeps throwing me, he keeps J2ing me. In MK9 you could fart and get a wakeup attack.
Here, you have to be have the powers of Shazam to get one.
Its not like every wake up has invincibility. Its not like pulling off ANY wake up is automatic win, its some which are better than others. That is something I like about this game tbh. I know that, but you also shouldn't just be able to roll your face on the buttons and get a wake up either. Dude you make it sound like it's impossible to do a wake up. Just spend like 2 minutes in training mode with it and it's a breeze. Its not like every wake up has invincibility. And the stupid way you execute them is very stupid.
