I never said gays shouldn't im saying that the whole being born gay thing requires some research on my part until them im not buying that simply being born your gay or straight there has to be more to it
You miss my point; why does it even matter if its a choice or you're born that way? What difference would that make?

Have you ever sat and discussed with someone who is well educated in theology and what not and asked them about these contradictions. If you want answers then look for them in the right place not on TYM, then cast your judgment
Yes, and ultimately the answer is always "we just have to have faith."

Going to catholic school doesn't mean that you will fully understand the Bible
The same way being in a garage doesn't make you a car, being in church doesn't make you a Christian.
Oh silly me, I thought I could read it myself, but apparently I need someone to explain it to me because its too complex for layman to understand.

A vote is not imposing your beliefs, you're basically being asked your opinion by means of ballot. The popular opinion gets the nod.
This doesn't make any sense; its not the popular opinion "gets the nod," its "the popular opinion becomes the law and directly interferes with the lives of those who do not share the popular opinion."

How do you know its not an act, and that they are lying about remembering?
I don't, there is no way of knowing.
As far as lying goes, why would people lie to themselves when it comes to that.
if people lied to themselves that would kind of prove that there is no such thing as god.

Probably cognitive dissidence. They might believe the reason they are compelled to do so by god and accept that as proof. That's my problem with religious belief in general, it usually end in a circular argument that isn't rational.

Now before I ask this question, I would like to say that this isn't an attack on any religion. I don't want to spark any religious debates. This is for my curiosity only. I will not reveal what my beliefs are, in order to stay unbiased. Every Christian I've asked this question, hasn't been able to provide me with a solid answer.
Please be civilized.

Ok here's the question:

Christians believe that as long as they believe Jesus died for their sins, they're going to heaven, no matter what. So if this is true, why don't every Christian, gather up their family, and all kill themselves? As long as you are all Christian, won't you all go to heaven? Why waste your time on this earth, when you can kill yourself now and go to heaven?

Answer seems simple enough, Jesus died for them. Why waste his sacrifice? Also there's good to be done in the world. Also also God frowns upon suicide last I checked. Some combination of those

What's the point of staying alive and doing good? They're all going to heaven eventually..... so why not go now?

Reiterating the "don't waste the sacrifice and God doesn't like it" bit.

Not every denomination believes in all that. Some of them honestly believe you need to work hard to get in.

This is a pretty silly question. And Christians don't believe you'll go to Heaven "no matter what."
Well if you believe in Jesus as your savior, you will go to heaven no matter what. That's what they believe.

And can you give me an answer since it's silly?

Why does it matter if it's bad? You're going to heaven anyway. Why does it matter if God doesn't like it? You're going to heaven.

And which denomination says, "you have to believe in Jesus and work hard". Christians always say they are promised/guaranteed heaven.

Lots of denominations believe it.

As far as "free pass" goes, only people who don't understand the religion will claim such a thing. Real Christians know they have to earn forgiveness because not everyone goes to heaven.

So what do those denominations believe will happen to people that believe in Jesus, yet they are bad?

because life is a gift god gave, and it is not to be wasted before achieving peace, or something liek that.
Yes I understand that it's a waste of life, but I'm asking: Why does it matter if you're going to go to heaven anyway? Heaven is eternal and life on earth doesn't even compare. What's the worth of sticking around for another couple years?
