Are we sure that Catwoman is a tough match-up? I've played this matchup a ton against a great player. Shadow Raven makes INSANE amounts of meter. In demon mode you need some carefulness zoning because pillars can be stuffed with MB Catdash.

Yeah I feel you can catch her on her b3 easily and punish her attacks on block with D1~Singularity

Don't get me wrong, Raven/Hawkgirl isn't a horrible match-up, IMO. I just think it's in Hawkgirl's favor. 5.5-4.5, maybe 6-4 at worst.

I think Hawkgirl is one of the characters that's been slept on the most in this game. I can't speak to how she plays against other characters, but of the few decent Hawkgirl's I've played, I've seen lots of potential to eat Raven up.

And regards to Catwoman, I think that's a match that's even, possibly slightly in Raven's favor. Just gotta watch out for that b3 and cat-dash.

Its even vs HG, both have tools and both enough options to put up a fight.

I agree about hg, both her and raven are very slept on and i can them blowing people up at evo. Would be pretty awesome to see them bodying people on stream :)

I'm very tempted to say that this match up is in Ravens favor... The fact that Raven can abuse Hawkgirls trait rather easily and multiple ways. Pillars, Teleports, Dashes.

However, if Hawkgirl gets Raven in a corner it can be extremely hard for Raven to get out. It seems like all of Hawkgirls normals are better than Ravens, but for that hawk girl still has to get in. Which can be very hard task against an vigilant raven player.

To clarify, most of Raven's match-ups consist of her being at an advantage at range and being at disadvantage close up. The x:x score for Raven can be summed up as describing how easy it is for Raven to keep the opponent from getting/staying in compared how fucked Raven is if she fails at doing this.

6 frame D1 is her main tool for escaping pressure (and what a tool it is), but against some characters who can comfortably fight outside of this range (Aquaman, staff Nightwing, etc) you have that horrible situation where your best way of getting out of melee pressure requires you to get closer to your opponent.

To further add, Catwoman has an easy way in with MB Catdash. Since Raven doesnt have any multi-hitting projectiles, catdash blows through it. And since it is safe at Fullscreen, I can throw it out and you can't punish it and I will be in your face.

Once catwoman has you up close it becomes bad for raven as every 50/50 leads to a HKD which sets up another 50/50. Add in the MB Catdash crossup shenanigans and you have a tough time up close. Wakeup lift is asking to be punished, as is wakeup teleport. If Raven gets cornered in this matchup it is pretty much over.

It isn't unwinnable by any means, but it is definitely in Catwoman's favor in my experience(I play Catwoman and have played it against Catwoman, so I have been on both sides :p)

This whole forum got blown up on that podcast because no one listens to Blind_warrior. Seriously listen to him. I've always agreed with that shit, Raven can fight any character in this game (post-nerfed Scorpion of course). She is not a pocket character, she is for specialists, if you sub her, you might just be ass. @Blind_warrior, I'm in NorCal as well, I'm coming for best Raven, let's level up!

I'm also intrigued to see what we got blown up for, as pretty much any "she needs this/that/etc" post gets slapped down with "no she doesn't". Personally, I didn't even care for the AA buff. Not complaining we got it, but it certainly wasn't "needed". Air dash was a pretty good tactic to get past Raven's horizontal zoning (as opposed to vertical via demon pillars), and now it's a free d2 into highly-damage-scaled combo.

Same here. No one ever asked for buffs in our subforum. Neither I see who's not listening Blind_Man. By the way, once the stream gets up I'd like to show you guys how the South American Raven looks like :)

I tried contributing when the game came but no one really gave a shit, which is why pig was blowing up the forum. Also what have you contributed? Just curious. And have you played me? To my knowledge no. I've played some top players who all have said I have the best Raven and I think I do.

Well first off, I didn't mean to sound disrespectful, sorry if I did.

And I saw you play on Stream a couple weeks, back and from there I could tell, that I am ahead of you.

I haven't contributed that much, because most of the stuff I learned on my own, but maybe I'll make some vids some day.

The two most helpful people on this forum are Sprint and Mr.Mileena.

Sprint has bestowed upon some of the nasty BNB setups that Raven has, and Mr.Mileena gave us our first reset.
