Should Skarlet be banned @ Evo?

She should be banned. She has way too many glitches, and in my opinion, if OP. Her teleport is fast, dash can go into either slash, a slide, or even an x-ray, her x-ray has detection problems, and overall, needs to be patched. The tournament it huge, and adding a broken character would just add problems to EVO. Ban her.

If it's that serious why hasn't Phoenix been banned in MvC3?

All is fair in love and war. Just because a good amount of players in the fighting community have an insecurity issue, and want their chances to be more in their favor.
Doesn't mean she should be banned, yes I understand the time, but you also have to look at it from the standpoint of one who play's Skarlet. If they can't get muchfrom the community in the given amount of time, then unless they're really good or wise, they won't learn that much either.

Skarlet for EVO, all is fair.

Yes she should be banned. I for 1 will have not and will not buy her. I can barely afford to live at the moment lol. So me going to evo and playing vs a skarlet, who i will have never played before would suck.

As others have said you can get the compatibilty pack for free to play her. And if you can afford EVO u cant u affiord a 5$ character anyways?

Why don't we just take the easy route and say, if someone uses an infinite they are DQ'ed and instant lose? That sounds reasonable.

Alright, now I'm fully expecting Skarlet to be banned for EVO, simply because some of her fixes will take a full patch, and at this point it won't make the July 6th cutoff date, so as far as I'm concerned, that's it. Maybe next time.

Phoenix should be banned from MvC3 period, but since she has been playable since the game came out in February is a little different than just over 1 month. Not a real fair comparison imo.

No matter first and only Evo for MvC3 lol

I hope they do drop that game, and get back the real Marvel game in there. It may have been unbalanced but it was hella more hype and fun to watch than *insert witty MVC3 title joke here*. No fake hype generated by random stuff (X-Factor) or other BS (Phoenix)

yea exactly. Why could MvC2 last a decade, and longer, and MvC3 is a one time Evo game?

Sure, new Capcom titles are part of the reason, but the game is BAD and is a smack in the face to what MvC2 is, was and what the sequel couldnt be.

Good news tho is finally a spotlight on Third Strike again, which is one of the best 2d, hell best fighting of all time.

MvC3 was such a huge disappointment to me.

I miss my Guilty Gear:(...easily way better than BlazOtaku. BlazBlue just has too many annoying characters with annoying voices to me.

People trying to compare this to AE seem to forget that AE was released in Japan (where a number of EVO players play) in December, which was more than enough time for bugs, etc, to possibly be found out before ECT and EVO, which makes the comparison invalid.

I'd say she should be banned, make MK a level playing field, esp if they want to patch her because of issues. (I hadn't heard this before this thread, interesting).

You're not looking at the reasoning behind the potential ban. Evo isn't suggesting a ban on Skarlet because she's overpowered. The potential ban would be due to her recent availability. Algol was available from day 1 on Soul Calibur. Oni was available from day 1 on AE. Skarlet wasn't available until 2 months in and still isn't available in all parts of the world.

At this point, I'm assuming it's on purpose. A good way to "balance" her zoning ability.

I vote no on ban. If they are playing Mortal Kombat 9 on tournaments, they are playing Mortal Kombat 9. Kratos ban is ok but every other non console specific character should be allowed because that is the game being played. I don't believe requiring people to buy the dlc is really an issue. Every tournament player should take in account that they might face her and thus should know the match-up.

Little experience with or against Skarlet applies the same to everyone. The choice to pick Skarlet is free for everyone.

Being potentially broken shouldn't matter because Kabal has been broken with his block infinite and how many people still believe Kano is broken..? There might be no definite way of telling anyway. They might find out something for every other character that would make them broken at any time.

So if we allowed both Skarlet and Kenshi, anything found after July 6th would be allowed at Evo. Is everyone cool with that?

I would ban both.
Skarlet is kind of glitchy right now. NRS has said there would be a patch for that but we don't know when(unless I just didn't see a date?)
She's a little too new, and Kenshi would be way too new.

Something could go wrong with DLC again(people unable to buy her, etc)
There's too many "what if's " in banning or not banning. Kenshi could end up being a really incomplete character and need to be fixed, we simply don't know.
If something did happen you wouldn't want it to effect EVO in a negative way.

This is why I feel it's best to stay safe and ban them.
