Scorp-Zero

I 100% agree with PL, everyone jumps on the bandwagon saying Scorp is broken... HOW!!! We all know that the teleport crosses up and is easy to predict as well as being easy to punish, all of his specials are incredibly punishable if you avoid/block them and most if not all of his BnB's are low damage when compared to most of the cast. You bitch and complain about saying his J3 is broken; so Batman's, Superman's, GA's, Harley Quin's Doomsday,s and DS's air-to-airs aren't incredible?!STFU, learn how to beat Scorpion, its much more satisfying than bitching for a patch to nerf him, he's had it bad enough as it is.

Thought experiment. Would PL be okay with it if Scorpion is not banned but he is not allowed to use him? Yeah... I know.

Considering I know your a scientific kinda guy perhaps its time for many of us on here to all just learn and experiment with the use of the Scorpsters. Perhaps its time we sit down give this character a very close analysis.

Fair point. I'm kind of on the fence about Scorpion and don't want to impose my opinion on the subject. Seeing I am Swiss I tend to act like one as well. I usually try to stay neutral if I'm not entirely convinced either way. However, if I see stupid and illogical statements made or ulterior motives at work I often can't stop myself from pointing them out. Calling four respected top players out on ulterior motives would be okay but not if the person picks the opposite side for himself while most certainly being a victim of the same bias. That's the classical logical fallacy known as "tu quoque".

Furthermore it seems apparent that this discussion is not a matter of substance but ideology. Everyone seems to agree (well, everyone that makes anything that resembles a rational argument) that Scorpion is at the very least problematic and not in line with the design of the game. The question now arises is if that's reason enough to warrant a ban.

In one corner we have the argument of evolution and adaption. This almost Darwinian approach is simple. The game will regulate itself. At the worst we will have 8 Scorpion in top 8 at Evo but why is that a problem? There only needs to be 1 other character than can reliably beat him and someone playing this other character well will then easily make top 8 the next tournament. This means people will then have to prepare an answer for this one other character which will probably be a third character. Over time an ecosystem will develop with several characters included. Granted Scorpion will still be the character of choice 7 out of 10 times and there won't be more than 4 or 5 characters ever but how is that different from other fighting games?

In the other corner we have the argument of balance and diversity. A fighting game is successful if many people are interested in it. To keep people interested a game needs to be varied and convey a sense of fairness and fun to people who not actively engage in tournaments. People who watch the stream, people who play online and people who casually play the game need to be intrigued and inspired. A game with a broad roster of viable characters is a necessity for that. At least for a game that still needs to make its way up to the top. You can get away with a stale roster if you already are the top dog of the fighting games because the numbers of players itself creates its own dynamic.

Both arguments are valid yet only the second approach will in my own personal opinion ensure the survival of Injustice as a prominent game in the scene. The first approach usually leads to a game with a few hardcore gamers attached to it that put up with the scenario explained. Most others will simply stop playing, watching and supporting a game they don't consider fun. People don't think Scorpion is fun so it almost doesn't matter if he is broken or not. The public opinion of top players and casual players alike will make or break the game however justified the argument may be.

I hope that if Scorpion is banned, that people don't auto jump to banning superman, KF, BA, etc... next. I feel like, if your argument is that Scorp breaks the rules, then you at least have to accept that Supes and KF don't. It would be great to achieve stability, such that people can know what they are investing in when they put time in the lab.

So, ban scorp, leave everyone else the hell alone.

I think what we need to is perform a study, we take a few top players have them battle it out in a series of matches and record the results to see how many times a top player using Scorpion can win, then you take a sample of average players using SCorpion vs. other averages players and record how many wins they come to, after is said and done then you pit the average players vs. the top players and record the win/lose ratio of Scorpion there, then you pit the average players against the non-scorpion users on both the top player and average scale. This data if collected properly could help come to find a final result on whether or not the character is actually broken or if the character playing by the rules of the game's mechanics.

I'm just saying that we have seen the pissing war go too far and now we need to gain results on the issue from an unbiased and logical standpoint, for that we need to perform an experiment which would help gain these results. The hardest part is determining how to differeintiate between a top player and an average player.

Well... I normally say it only as a joke, but here I legitimately can't tell: are you trolling or just posting from the back of the short bus?

Regardless, this attitude is fucking stupid. I love this idea that all the BEST Injustice players on the planet have collectively decided that they just don't want to "lvl uuuup n adaptzorz braaaah".

The strongest voice against Scorpion's ban comes from a guy who can't win in this game at high level with a legit character. REO, Tom Brady, Pig of the Hut, F0xy, etc have all posted extensive and good points as to why this character should be banned.

And who disagrees with them? A bunch of fucking scrub nobodies who say "adapt" and offer no solutions and one mid-level tournament player. The lot of them can just fuck all the way off.

The anti-ban dipshits are just that anyway. No one is suggesting the ban on Scorpion should be permanent. It's just until he's fixed in some fashion... which Ed Boon already said they were going to do. Scorpion will be unbanned when the ilk of dudes like "Scorps-Zero" can no longer win by being completely fucking random.

And just fuck anyone with the balls to say Scorpion is punishable. Though that is one of the funniest things I've heard since George Carlin died.

Perfect Legend talking about Scorpion - 'Reo knows I will be good with him.'

WTF? Nobody is 'good' with Scorpion.

I've seen both his and REOs versions of 'adapting' with that character, and do you know what that consists of?

Put simply - Do teleports at different times.

If you want to be considered 'good' at this game, learn to play a character that follows the rules, and win using the rules of the game.

WELP, PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Apparently we have an elite player here who knows things that even top players don't.

NOT ONE OF THE FUCKING PRO-SCORPION PEOPLE have shown ANY ACTUAL EVIDENCE that Scorpion is not a huge problem for this game. NOT ONE. And don't go posting some horseshit video of you beating your little sister who you taught to do J3 and teleport. Even a MID-LEVEL Scorpion is sooo hard to deal with. Why are people not seeing this?

It wouldnt be a problem if PL wouldnt be able to defeat scorpion with anyone but scorpion if scorpion was out longer than a few weeks. He shouldve been able to defeat a scorpion with characters he had been using freqeuntly before its release if he was right. Because if you told reo to beat kabal with another character he might have lost because thats just the character he put the most time in and because: kabal.

lol, placing imaginary "rules" on yourself. Isn't that against the whole "playing to win" mentality where the banning of Akuma or whoever came from?

I hope they put in more teleport characters just to piss you all off even more.

I don't really care one way or the other if they ban him. I don't main the guy. I'm not skilled enough to compete in this game no matter who I use. haha
