I'm gonna reframe this slightly, since I think there's way too much discussion about whether Scorpion is balanced. I can think of characters in other fighters he reminds me of - Talbain in Darkstalkers comes to mind pretty readily, except Talbain was worse. Great jump (both arc and speed), same silly crossover bullshit that you really can't see and just have to read, every touch leads to a full combo - except everything he's going to do to you is safe without costing any meter, and pushblock was random as fuck in that game. He was still beatable, albeit incredibly obnoxious.

Just the same, there are answers for Scorpion, and matches where he's not going to do so hot. I don't think he's as amazing as he's cracked up to be and I don't think he's the best character in the game. There are, however, two immutable truths about Scorpion:

1) He forces you to play his game, and
2) His game is dogshit.

There is nothing fun about a Scorpion match for anybody. He's managing to outpace Deathstroke in terms of raw hatred turned in his direction, which is an achievement of mindboggling grandeur in itself. Even without thinking Scorpion is overpowered, I hope he gets nerfed into oblivion just because of the damaging effect he's having on the game and the community surrounding it. Video games are supposed to be enjoyable, which Scorpion wrecks wholesale. If his viability gets outright obliterated in a patch, it will be good for Injustice overall.

absolutely true. scorpion is the perfect thing for this game. a fast as fuck, nonsense mixup character that is fun for people to watch, and also fun to root against as the 'villain'. mvc3 had it with phoenix. umvc3 has it with morrigan. sf4 has it with seth/cammy/viper/whoever else people whine about. as much as the players dislike these characters, people love watching them, and watching players try and beat them. you ban scorpion, you take away that aspect. scorpion will do wonders for this games popularity.

They literally tried to patch Cyrax 3 times and it never worked. He literally broke the game.

Why the hell would Kabal's flash parry get blocked when it is Armored? He simply waits for you to do one string or poke, and then blows it up. There is no blocking that. He eliminates footsies because nothing is safe against him. Want to do a safe poke? Blown up by EX dash. Want to do a safe advancing special? Blown up by EX dash. And yes a ton of characters eliminated zoning, my point was that he kind of eliminated everything. And if I am so wrong, why did Kabal win 90% of majors in MK9?

As for KL, cant that argument also be used for Scorpion? Is it not your fault for letting Scorpion jump on you all day and teleport for free? His regular teleport is super punishable on whiff.

My concern is for the longevity of Injustice, and the viability of characters in the game. Keep Scorpion in, and a shit load of previously viable characters, go down the shitter.

All it means is that he blew up a broken character. If he blew him up why can't we?

Also how does Scorpion break the games engine? The fact that you can't use interactables? There are a ton of characters in this game who can punish all interactables very easily, including DS, Catwoman, Scorpion, Batgirl, Doomsday, etc.

There are a ton of characters who force you to play the game differently. There is no way I can play the Aquaman MU the same as the GA MU for example. Or better yet, I am never going to win if I do not play the game differently against KF.

I really am trying to understand where you guys are coming from. Regular teleport is largely punishable on whiff, his J1 or J3 whatever are pretty easily beaten by backdash(aka the universal AA) or any other AA moves. His hellfire is laugh out loud bad, his 50/50s require meter.

I mean really step back and look at this guys. He has been out for THREE WEEKS. Remember when Freddy came out and he "broke the game"(Ok he technically did but they fixed the obvious glitch and people still thought that), yet he eventually settled into top 10 but not broken.

All Im saying is it is way too early to be having a ban discussion.

1. I don't particularly care what the Capcom community thinks, I'm not a part of it, I accept the Capcom players that also play NRS games though.
2. Even if 'Bats,Supes,BA,KF,WW,NW,Aquaman' were the only viable characters (which isnt true), thats alot more viable characters than there would be if Scorpion stayed in.

I'm complaining, but not for selfish reasons, if Scorpion stayed it would probably make it a whole lot easier as a WW player, cause there would be no Batman players left to worry about

Then it becomes an option instead of the entire basis for his game.

Seems easy enough for them to do that.

I was thinking along these lines as well. Teleport/mb teleport would still be good, but no longer broken with the j3/j1 teleport on block and other air shenanigans.
