So I know Cyusstrike beat iChokeonKUSH who was the Gatekeeper. Then you beat Clint and Skunked Reno. So the list SHOULD look like this.

Then you SKUNKED 5-0 Reno. When you Skunk someone they fall 2 places

Beating someone who is a lower ranking then you does nothing to them whether you skunk them or not. You are the higher ranking player so you should of beaten him.

I thought when a skunk happens, you switch places with that person? If the person is only one spot above, then wouldn't it just be a swap between the two places? If it were a two place difference, then the higher place would drop two if he was challenged and skunked. Correct?

I have no idea lol all i know is I'm in 6th place I though if you won period you swapped places so the guy in between the two wasn't punished for anything. And if u got skunked i thought you moved down one place unless your were challenged and got skunked

When you beat someone you take their rank and they move down 1 rank pushing everyone else down as well. When you skunk someone you take their rank and they move down 2 ranks. I should of rephrased that before Pig copied and pasted it. I'll get him to edit his post later.

After the first challenge you already moved up in rank. He then rechallenged you when he was lower and you beat him which was expected so nothing happens to Clint.

So clint is off the list? This is getting confusing or does he not move anywhere because he challenged me and got skunked? Do you move down 2 regardless of the situation if you're skunked?

If you get skunked you drop 2 ranks if you are a higher rank PERIOD. Tre beat Tyler last night and Tyler didn't drop rank. If a higher rank guy beats you nothing happens to you if you are a lower ranked guy.

We're about to implement something regarding the skunk rule. As of right now, it only goes in one direction. Higher can move down if loses but lower does not if he gets skunked.

We're about to do that if you're the lower person and you get skunked, then you also move down two places.

Not to ruin the fun for people...But maybe we should have a discussion for the rules of the entire system and then work forward from there to help with the confusion because it seems different groups want different rules.

If you guys want to do that with YOUR system then that's up to you. We will not be doing that here in ATL. I think it's silly. Higher ranked guys should beat lower ranked guys. Seeing a higher ranking guy 5-0 someone who lower is expected. Punishing a lower ranking guy or getting his shit pushed in is overkill and will hurt morale and make them lose interest in the ranking system.

Question about the wording of this.

"This also applies to the unranked guys as well. You may only challenge the Gatekeeper once a week. If you beat him and become #10 then they can turn around and challenge you as well but after that you two can't play another ranked battle for a week."

Should that say that they can't make another challenge for the week because for #10 as the gatekeeper, can't unranked players who haven't challenged yet keep going after him for that #10 spot?

Yea other unranked players can still challenge the gatekeeper but if they lose then they can't challenge for a week aswell. But I have a question can the former gatekeeper keep challenging if the gatekeeping is switched. Say for instance player a b c and d player a is gatekeeper and loses to player b can player a challenge player b and lose and then player b loses to player c and then player a turns around and challenges player c and so on?

You may issue one challenge to each player you are ABLE to play. Perfect example of this is what happened with Reayon and Clint. Reayon challenged Clint and beat him 5-1. Clint then turned around and challenged him back. This is when Reayon beat him 5-0. Clint and Reayon can't challenge each other for a week now.

Reason I'm asking is we just started this week and we already have people arguing about it. Namely about unranked people getting to play the Gatekeeper. We have 3 to 4 sessions a week and he goes to at least one of them per week. But someone was like well what if I want to challenge the Gatekeeper and he's not at the session I'm attending? Some of the other guys want to punish that guy because he wasn't at the particular session so they could challenge him. Others want to say that if the Gatekeeper isn't there, then an unranked player should be able to challenge the lowest ranked person in attendance even if it's not the Gatekeeper which I see huge problems with this.

Have you guys had this situation come up yet?

As of right now this is what our weekly schedule looks like.

Tuesday - Winners Sports Bar (Mainly Injustice players, some AE, Marvel)
Friday - My place (generally the largest Injustice session of the week, but it's a bit farther for some who attend the Tuesday session; also host to other games)
Saturday - My place again (sometimes)
Sunday - Replays (usually has the least amount of Injustice players and is the farthest location for everyone)

We do ours once a week
