Yes, they technically received patches through arcade revisions but the updates were much less frequent then they are now. And despite these changes, these games are still broken.
I agree with your second point to an extent. But it becomes a question of what was and was not intended, which only NRS knows. Christ, there were people on this forum demanding that Flash and Ares get to keep their resets. The same went for Cyrax and Smoke players early in MK's life.
How is Scorpion's tele obviously supposed to be a mid? He was not supposed to be released until today, and notice, the hotfix that came with him made the move into a high.Glaring things such as batgirl being able to meterburn without meter and block infinites are things that should be patched. Things like doomsday's hit box is questionable. Scorpions teleport was pretty obviously intended to hit mid thats something even boon can't miss. Leave alone until after evo. It's really frustrating to try and learn a character only to have him/her change especially when you're doing it in prep for a major tournament.

It's not wise try to punish a whiffed teleport when he has meter. Now, you have yo block standing to get a punish and therefore you need to block it on reaction which is nearly impossible. Right, and my point is that none of the changes implemented so far have changed the game that much.
See the above. I am a tournament player that travels and spends money on the game and I don't feel like I have had to relearn the game because of these changes. Honestly, the thing that has changed the game are the DLC characters because I am forced to learn more MUs.

You aren't playing a character who was made less capable/able to compete as a result of the changes. The outcry regarding changes tends to be a direct result of reducing a characters viability, not enhancing it.

Scorpion was fixed. He was released before ready and what we played was an unfinished 'beta test' of him.I have no issues with patching the game, I have issue with it being patched so early. I can see broken stuff like Cyborg or Batgirl's infinites... but Scorpion patched week one before the entire community even got to use him? Seems a little soon in my opinion.
But I will agree with one point here... the "just adapt" people just need to adapt to the patched changes or their attitude is pretty hypocritical in the first place isn't it.
Than you havent played MOBAsIt's just that this community likes to complain more than anything. I have never seen a community complain more than this one in over 25 years of gaming, it absolutely blows my mind. And I've only been here for a couple months.
