Lol. Lemme just say right now almost everything you've posted since quoting me has made me laugh in one way or another.
This "and other phantom hitboxes" will indirectly involve DS if people are literally posting pictures of Ji1, or maybe you're not being observant. When I get tagged by someone in discussion of Ji1 and a vortex and the effect of a decreased hitbox on it, then yes, DS is being discussed and I have every right to post about it.
Don't lie. You praise the gods every time someone thinks about nerfing DS. And we have found tons of tech beyond being salty about nerfs, you're just too ignorant to notice them. But this isn't a DS nerf thread, I'm going on no more about this.
Phantom hitboxes are fair if you can do something about it. If you can't block Batman's Ji2 because he jumped over you, get better. It's another matter of "I don't like learning, so Ima cry for nerfs cuz I'm a big baby!" This game (as well as a good number of others) does that so that characters that dont have massive arms or weapons have a CHANCE at hitting the opponent. Are you new to fighting games? Good lord, this stuff has been around for forever. Vergil apparently has bombs in his back pocket that explode and create a massive hitbox behind him every time he uses his H in UMvC3.
If you want to make it fair for smaller characters to hit things, but don't like the phantom hitboxes, then I hope you have fun with a cartoony styled game. Our game would look like this:
In order to have the hitboxes compensate for Mario lacking the giant sword that Link has, he gets this exaggerated inflation of his body parts when he attacks. You wanna animate the game that way, you whine about it.
The thing is, there's no problem with Batman having a crossup Ji2. There's nothing wrong with DS having a crossup Ji1. You just don't like it because you cant see it. There WAS a problem with Doomsday hitting with his body splash so high in the air that you couldn't anti-air it though, so they fixed it.
