This patch is big news for me, because I have been looking for a good secondary and with characters that I know how to play getting good shit, I am now a happy Nightwing
 
So far seems a lot better to me, really allows me to play mix-up game pretty; keep my opponents guessing and not have too much time to react. However I feel like there's a secret damage buff or something? I'm doing like 52% damage combos, maybe I just didn't notice before.

I'm happy for you guys (especially RYX). My eyes just teared up a bit. It might be the salt from the Aquaman nerfs or just sheer joy but anyways, congrats.

I'm actually going to pick up Bane now and YOLO charge people into dust. =)
I'll still Mb B3 the shit out of you bro. The buffs never changed that.

the Bane buffs shouldnt have made it any easier to mix people up than before, aside from ambiguous corner shit.

His impossible matchups are still rather impossible sadly. Batman eats bane for breakfast.
 
The dash is amazing now. I find the new venom cool down so really helps but Bane still gets blown up by the big guys. I'm glad he got some buffs though because I'll never drop him.

these buffs are great news. a 1.5 seconds off of Venom2 is a big deal.

i still think his charge needs projectile invincibility at Venom2, venom3 speed/damage debuff needs to go, and he needs an MB Double-Punch groundbounce, but shit, i certainly didn't expect all that from this patch. NRS is obviously being careful not to pull an MVC3 Sentinel with this game, especially with its first EVO appearance coming up. it's very encouraging that NRS recognized Bane's buff needs with this early patch. no, it doesn't address his most fundamental issues (zoning matchups and arguably damage output) but it's certainly a start and Bane will be stronger than he was before.

Bane still has glaring weaknesses, but it should be easier to stay alive longer now and deal slightly more damage with the lvl 2 venom buff. lvl 3 is still kinda meh, but I'll feel confident using it to end rounds now instead of just matches. And if he can block and dash through all projectiles then he'll have an easier time with zoning.

Overall, I think Bane is still pretty much the same. Just the risk/reward is a bit more balanced. I still think the debuff needs to go altogether. It's unacceptable that there's a metagame such that if I choose to do a maximum damage combo (which, in actual matches, usually isn't much more than a lot of chars 1 bar combos), my character becomes ineffective for a duration long enough for the opponent to hit me with 2 BASIC combos that each do more damage than mine, and I have no defense options other than block. 6 seconds or 9 seconds, that shit is stupid.

Even so, significant buffs/nerfs when the game is in infancy isn't the way to go, so I'm content with what Bane's gotten so far.

i love this update. ive played a few matches today with bane already and so far because pf his faster dash after doing a body press opponents that dash back to try and escape banes pressure can no longer get away now. pre patch after i did a body press and would try for another (all this with venom activated) it would whiff from time to time but NOW its like guareteed punish. same applied for doing double punch if they tried to jump out of another body press. i think if they were to buff bane in the future ot would be the startup on his charge being shortned but until they day comes if ever i am much happeier with this bane post patch.

Honestly, 6 seconds off the clock means if you land a reset you've got yourself a timer drop.
Heck, if you land pretty much anything you can either MB command throw or MB double punch and it'll take off the timer.

We can now combo straight through our debuff... At level 2 we can go for stuff like j.d.3 b.23 123 command grab and go from 1/3 level 2 venom directly back into level 2 venom again. If we keep up pressure, we have no down time on a 125% boost just about.

Anyone who says the dash buff isn't massive has been exposed. They clearly did not play Bane much at all before. It's fucking fast as fuck now. It feels like he's on crack. It feels glitched lol

Also, one MB command grab gets you almost entirely out of lvl 3 cool down. It's a significant buff.

You can dash under a b23 completely. Someone find something dirty we can do with that

They lowered the damage taken debuff on level 2 and level 3. I tested it with Deathstroke's super as I did before the patch.

Someone else test

So I'm getting:

No debuff - 38%
lvl 1 - 39%
lvl 2 - 41%
lvl 3 - 46%

Prepatch it was

No Debuff -38%
Lvl 1 - 39%
Lvl 2 - 42%
Lvl 3 - 51%

Shit just got real.

Edit: Deathstroke's super was just a random move I chose when I tested this a long time ago. Feel free to test with whatever else you had damage values on before the patch.

Edit 2: The damage output debuff remained the same as it was prepatch.

Edit 3: Quite frankly, these changes taken together as a whole are fucking awesome. Level 3 all day every day son.
