but trident rush is now useless. why would u ever use it? it does no more chip and it doesnt lead to combo on hit. i guess aquaman is now reduced to just doing b12 since every thing else is so -frames. and how is aquaman suppose to beat killer forst now? i bet she punish scoop with slide for no effort

I think your over reacting a little my man. It doesnt sound like they are removing ALL chip damage from trident rush. It will probably just not be the insane amount it is now. F13/F1 scoop wasnt that great a mixup anyway since it could be fuzzy guarded because scoop comes out much faster than 3. The real dirt is F13/F1B1. You cannot fuzzy guard that. Aquaman is also at plus frames both on F1 and 3 so the poking and mixup possibilities are just stupid. Scoop is primarily a combo move anyway. You shouldnt really be just throwing them out there.

His trait, meh I dont know yet. But being active for half a second less doesnt seem like much. Its usually within the first second or two that you find out if activating it was a good move or not anyway. And it will still work to cover up unsafe stuff when you make a bad read on alot of characters. One second more cooldown, eh, he just turtles for one more second. I think Aquaman will still be super top. But time will tell.

dude you need to calm the fuck down,im an aquaman main and i honestly dont see a problem with these nerfs,ill just stop ending blockstrings in a scoop attempt and think of something else instead or fuck it still end in scoop and activate trait.it could actually work in aquamans favor if you think about it,look at it this way now its more punishable your opponent is less likely to be looking for it and you can make it safe against most of the cast anyway with trait.or because it is unsafe they could be waiting to punish it in which case do something else instead.ive proberly failed miserably at trying to get my original point across but its early in the day,lol.

Lets see... If you are doing naked scoop you are playing Aquaman wrong IMO to begin with. IMO he should use scoop unless you have guaranteed combo anyway. If you can hit low, you should be doing B12 to open them up. His combo options are endless with his scoop.

No big deal. Won't bother my play style with him one bit.


EDIT: And if you're that worried about scoop being garbage now you are probably the type of player that mirror matches me just to flip me over your head like a pancake every chance you get without doing anything before or after it. In that case in glad they nerfed it so I can whack your fish lips off your face with mah trident. =)

I think these nerfs are very fair. It makes a lot of Aquaman's tools less abusable, but he still is very good. Trait change is minor. The duration change doesn't really matter since you should be doing it in a middle of a combo. The extra cooldown means we just won't have it fully recharged for an extra second. Trident scoop was already unsafe, so making it more universally punishable means it will be more for combos, and f13 and f1xx scoop will still be a good mixup. You can also use scoop and have almost no consequence if you have trait waiting. I don't know how I feel about trident rush... I never really used it but I do know that the chip was insane. As long as it still does a decent amount of chip, it should be fine.

Sorry Jimzam but I'm gunna have to agree with Scarlett, you'd have to be a complete idiot to think that this is being "nerfed to the ground". I think it was obvious that the chip on his trident attack was unintentional, it was just way too high. Other than that the only thing that really affects him is having to wait an extra second for his trait to cooldown. A couple of minuscule changes aren't going to take Aquaman away from being top tier.

Having a safe method of inserting a low into/after any cancelable string certainly isn't a necessary part of anyone's toolkit, methinks.

Between you and me, I think your character is still better than mine, regardless of who got buffed and who got nerfed :p

Scoop nerf was stupid. I guess online kids werent able to punish a goddamn -15 move, so they needed to increase the punish time. Well if at least they nerfed the pushback instead of the frame disadvantage i guess it's okay.

YOU CAN STILL TRAIT AFTER THE SCOOP.

Characters could punish it before, I full combo punish Aquaman for tossing out scoop left and right. Now MORE characters can punish it...but guess what?

You can still trait afterwards. That's right. You have a method to still make it safe...

If your throwing it out enough times that your opponent is beating you for blocking scoop so much and your trait is always on cooldown...stop throwing out scoop! lol
