Well, if you get hit by it while you're doing a string, they used a bar for that damage and you still hurt them so I don't find it that bad. The reward you get for it for punishing it on the other hand is great.. A full korner kombo of your choice...
Well the thing is that there's no guarantee that you'll have 2 meters at the time. I use a lot of meter bullying them into the corner to begin with.

I'm just saying, Atlantis is not the end all stage for Nightwing. Unless the community decides Atlantis is the only stage worth playing.

You don't need two bars... You kan punish it with one bar. If you did a string and they did it then they just took a chunk and you lost no meter.. They generally risk more for doing it.

And you took a chunk and they no longer have to deal with Nightwing pressure. Taking 10-15%, dealing 20% and throwing Nightwing the hell off of you is a better choice then anything else an opponent can do in the corner.

It's less risky than any other reversal, especially since Nightwing only has one option to deal with it and that's prediction and using a MBDC through it.

But fine, whatever. Nightwings, pick Atlantis for every matchup.

Anyway. We kan explore other stages as well, but I like Atlantis so far. I think Styrker's Island works really well too.

To only burn one meter, it has to be predicted. Because if you commit to anything else, you have to burn two.

Also, I like any stage that allows Nightwing to escape the corner against characters that thrash him there.

I've been training myself to be very vigilant on Watchtower, Metropolis, and Hall of Justice. In staff, i get pooped on by power characters just chucking the interacts. I'll occasionally be able to react and get a 4xxFlip Kick out to dodge some shit, but....splash damage. I'm thinking I should just be Escrima heavy on these stages...

Should we be bothering to break down stages vs Power/Gadget and Escrima/Staff?

Well if random select is what the tourney standard will be, we'll have to dissect every matchup on every stage.

In general if there are too many interactables near my opponent I stay in Escrima. I think Stage interactables are what limit Nightwing in Staff since he kan't jump up for the air stuff and lacks maneuverability.

I seriously cannot deal with superman, It's not his zoning, that is easy to get around it's everything else

If you are in a spot where you can't do anything to avoid an interactible, don't forget you can try to back dash it. The timing is very strict but you have nothing to lose trying it
 
Ive been playing on Gotham City(Alley) for awhile and I think its a pretty good stage for NW. The dumpster is good for NW because his combos tend to carry people across the screen. If your playing another gadget character and they try to use it you can use the staff ground spark to knock them out of it mostly on reaction (assuming your in good range to do so)

Escrima is x1000 better offline

I played a rather solid Hawkgirl in an offline set of casuals for about 2 hours today. Here's what I learned.

1. Take the initiative, always. Force her to block 112, even mid screen, and follow up with a block string.
2. If she's top corner of the screen, dash, block, dash, Flip kick.
3. Armor B3 her foot dive. Every time. Send the message that coming down from there will never be safe. Force her to burn the meter on her db1 to get away safely.
4. If she starts going in, block high. Her only low string is b22 with a 15 or 17 frame start up. Either way, you should be able to sniff it out.
5. Staff is really not optimal in this matchup, whenever possible be in Escrima.
6. Her D1 is 6 frames and safe on block. Must respect it.

This matchup really was not as much trouble for me as I anticipated. Dealing with her zoning is so much easier in an offline setting.

Fuck this game is great offline. Dash, Dash F3 MB Dash cancel is my new favorite way of blowing up Lantern's Might on approach.

Against KF, when you're full screen you can wingding her to avoid daggers and iceberg. You can also punish blocked ice bergs with ground blast while you're in staff.

Another nifty thing I found is that Flying Grayson will flat out beat Slide, so we don't need to spend meter to punish the bitch.

Superman isn't that bad, but don't undersell him in this matchup.
