Your mothers main.
Are you saying people arent tired of seeing the patriots or yankees at the end of every season? Or the Heat for that mater but buti love them so its cool.

By your Reasoning if you played BA and Superman it would be ok for you to see them in top 8's because you love them. You just refuted your whole argument with that one.

You should stop. You're not going to change this guys view. He has a odd way of thinking about competitive sports/games. It's a lost cause.

While I would have had a better time watching paint dry than watching that tournament besides the GF, it isn't about anybody but the people playing and putting the time in and going to these tournaments.

If they are having fun playing Superman, Black Adam, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Bane, Grundy, Lobo, who cares.

Fun means different things to different people. Like I said before, nobody wants to lose. So good for them if they are having fun AND winning.

HOWEVER, if this continues were we have 3-5 characters out of 30 (assuming we will hit 30 by the end of DLC) then that's pretty sad.

I keep hearing "At the highest level of play". Well, at the highest level of play, in a balanced game we should see at least 10-15 or more characters winning majors or even locals.

It's too early to tell and I think we should let the game play out and let the "professionals" flush out the game before people start panicking.

I only play MvC3 for shits and giggles and I frequent SRK just to see what's going on, sure there are people bitching about Morri/Doom/Vergil but there are a TON of awesome threads and posts over there with brainstorming on how to beat this "unbeatable" team.

I think this community and the people who main characters needs to get some groups together to brainstorm and figure out the tough MU's of their characters.

This doesn't only apply to the tournament goers and professional players but us online warriors and casuals that are on this board.

I had an amazing set of games last night against a great DS player and afterwards he added me and we chatted about how to counter each other for awhile and we will continue to do so.

I honestly thought Aris was a fucking dickhead and an idiot when I first saw his DS, but you know what? I gained a lot of respect for his evolution of his DS and his reads, especially last night when he played against some Black Adams and adapted well. He gained mad props for getting better and better.

Instead of being a bitch about it, lets find out what we need to do about these bad MU's and try to take them on, whether you are pro or not.

I don't think we should give up after a month and submit to cheesing out because we can't figure out a MU. Until all areas are explored and we can all tech possible against those higher tier characters, we can't blame anybody but ourselves.

Peace out.

To anyone complaining about players not 'entertaining the stream'.

This isn't like real sports - UFC / NFL / NBA etc. Players here don't get paid based on the # of stream viewers, the STREAMERS get paid for that. Players don't get paid JUST TO PLAY, players have to PAY, just TO PLAY. There is no yearly salary for INJUSTICE players.

So players PAY to play, and the only way to make ANY money BACK is by placing top 3 in the tournament.

And dayum, 4 Tekken players in Top 8.. and 2 of them in top 3.

You were on commentary, right? If so, I remember you doing a great job. You livened up the 30 minutes of button checks that always seem to come with the tourneys, and honestly kept the matched interesting for me at least. I could watch Supes vs BA all day as long as theres quality commentary.

You've actually made me consider picking up Cyborg. I always liked him on Teen Titans, and I feel my current characters are a bit too blue-eyed.

Do you play him on stick? Any advice for IANB? You can't use the Kabal shortcut from MK9, and 8746 comes out a bit high unless I'm just doing it too slow?
i would subjest doing alt controls off. Once i switched i got the iafb down in like 10 minutes

Sounds like the players need a union then imo.

I'm going to offend somebody for sure...but what ever. I don't normally go around stomping on people's toes and such, but man is this board filled with whinny babies and idiots all around.

"If you don't like it you should just go to a tournament..." - Not everybody can afford to go to a tourney as not every body lives 1...2...3...10 hours close to a weekly tournament or the like...plus, many of use have grown folks stuff to do.

"Entertain the stream" - Rip said it best; tournament players get paid to win, not to entertain. All these comparsions to "real" sports need to stop. What we have here is not the same. In the end, depending on the goals/priorites of the players in question (simply to win is what it seems like at the moment), picking your favorite character at this point in the game's life might be the fun thing to do, but it could/might no be the smartest thing to do.

The ultimate truth of the matter is though, that this game is being under-represented on the streams as of late. This is still the supposed "exploration period" of the game (we are 1 month in exactly now), but at the "highest level" this game has seemingly stalled and is boiling down to a hand full of characters.

Is this the final truth of this games life? Have players stopped trying to grind and become more concerned with the "easy road"? Somehow through this "over-exposure" of these "top teir" characters will we be lead to a better understanding of these characters weaknesses in order to over come them? Or are we all just experts now and know these characters in and out, their match ups, and how all the levels/interactibles play in to each one so we are all done.

I'm sure there are at least a few who are still grinding out strats, and in the near future I hope someone just gets blown up by somebody with some "new" and over looked tech. In the mean time though, what it seems like is that most poeple are "happy" with this stalled meta game as it is right now, and have made up their minds on how this game (inside and out) is meant to be played.

PS - to those who would/will come at me saying, "I guess he thinks he knows all" or some other BS like that, ... F*** you. I'm still grinding, and i will admit that I still have a ways to go until I am comfortable in my game. I know about as much as everyone else about this game...not enough, and definately not everything.

Congrats to Aris, winning his second WNF of injustice. I'm more of a rushdown guy, but man Aris was making a ton of good reads on WonderChef. Gotta give him props, to me it was hella exciting.

Also shoutouts to the tekken players as well as Rip, you and Aris on the mic is always a pleasure to listen to. :D

Thanks for the warning. Maybe it's time to add another name to my ignore list.
Yea that's sound advice, jaym7018 is usually trollin' over on the GFaqs bored as well..think he's banned/restricted right now, noone should take that kid seriously.

On topic; congrats to Aris, and I share the sentiment that as the game progresses there will be more character variety. It's pretty natural to go with the apparent/easy strong characters this early, as more tech is worked out things will change I think.

Agreed, I really like Aris' Slade. Slade has a fantastic set of tools and I think Aris is really cracking the character open and showing that he has more than a two-dimensional game plan. It was cool for me to see Aris get completely blown up because Black Adam is great against Slade's zoning but then bring it back in Grand Finals showing that Slade is equally as effective at rushdown. Aris was calling out the foot dive left and right and properly punishing and only zoning sometimes. WonderChef (who was also fantastic don't get me wrong) was literally afraid to use the foot dive by the end of the set and that's exactly what Aris wanted. GJ Aris! Eager to see more fierce competition next week!
