And double post but...I think we need to put focus on the Hawkgirl matchup. She might be the worst matchup Nightwing has. Has anyone here messed with that MU yet?

Just online matchups. I usually do really well blocking her air Db1, flip kick her out of the air and then mount an offense.

The good 'ole Marvel strategy - don't know what to do against the character so I just rush down and kill it before they can put their plan in action. Regrettably, I'm new to competitive play. I'm in the process of relocating to NorCal - hopefully the Injustice scene is big there.

It's gonna take a lot of time to figure out whether or not we need to use staff or escrimas depending on the MU and distance.
Like with staff you can punish shit from full screen and get close immediately, while with escrimas you'll get one dash in.
However the dash of the escrimas is so much better...

Hello dicks, I recently decided to make Nightwing my main and i've been having a lot of trouble with Superman and Killer Frost. Any one know what i should be doing in these matchups?

Well I haven't faced much KF so that's on the backburner.

As for Supes, are you having trouble with Rushdown Supes or Zoning Supes?

I've mainly been having a lot of trouble with zoning Supes.
Alright, simple strategy for now. Hopefully it will stay relevant and the Supes zoning doesn't get any more...complex.

Step 1: Wait for Supes Air Heat Vision (it will come, always does).
Step 2: Block Standing.
Step 3: Was it not Meter Burned?
Step 4. If Step 3 is Yes, are you in Escrima Stance?
Step 5: If Step 4 is Yes, Dash in Twice.
Step 6: ???
Step 7: Profit

Online Grundy has been wrecking my soul, the super armor really breaks through my crappy jabs and pokes and staff stance is too slow to keep him out... and I know zero combos with staff stance... I guess I better just keep on practicing.

His armor grab at a distance goes through anything anyway.

First rule of fighting Grundy: Don't jump in on him in Escrima, he'll d2 you and you'll cry.
Second rule: Don't let him get close to you if you're not the one initiating the offense.
Third Rule: RESPECT MB SWAMP HANDS.
Fourth Rule: Staff Stance is the best for this matchup.

Learn to use Staff Stance. Trust me, proper use of it can annihilate Grundys.

Why staff? You got no mobility with staff.
With escrima's you can read his throw and njp punish it, also faster dashing to get away from him.

If you are in staff stance against Grundy in the corner, you are fucked.

And if Grundy reads a ground spark or air wingdings, you're going to get MB swamp hands'd for 44-51%. If you want to get in Grundys face with Escrima you're playing a very dangerous game.

zoning out grapplers with pokes is the most reliable way to find success. Grundy can't swamp hands at mid screen without taking 1d2 1f1 or 1f2. Watch any Zangief matchup and you'll see such an incredible parallel.

Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if Escrima's only real use is its dash and Wing Dings. Staff seems to be better up close AND full screen.
I couldnt agree more thus far

Im finding that I only use escrima for mobility purposes and to try to get some sort of a knockdown to transition w meter into staff stance to wreck havik

Seems like people are getting fluid at poking or punishing f2 whiffing on high

I usually win matches resorting to POW POW (db2 lol)

Yea i feel comfortable in this mu

esscima instant air wing dings beat her slide and spike and allow you to recover before a spike

Always wait and bait the low slide and then in staff go into f11 mix ups or b2 w escrima, basically when you block a slide she is safe but shes not safe to being 50/50'ed . Be carefull though of her parry, not sure honestly yet if it hits mid/high or everywhere but it seems like im able to d2 it w staff or db2.

db1 her projectiles on block as well

Really just be patient and when she hits the air aa her w b2 because even if she doesnt appear to be near you yet most will air dash and b1 will knock them out

I got no experience against Grundy yet so I'm purely theory fighting for the moment.
But with his armor + reach of his grab, doesn't that beat out Nighwing's staff poking game?

You can backdash when you see him coming, or go for a staff spin to beat it out
The punish on a backdash is not guaranted because of his ability to cancel the walking armor grab, but you get a better reward for it

But it's really hard to manage the staff stance against grundy when you are cornered... so... don't get cornered in staff stance :D

Also, because of his jump's arc, you have to jump back 2 to anti air him

Yeah staff stance is the best against Grundy. He can blow a lot of your shit up with MB walking corpse. Staff keeps Grundy out and allows you to control the pace of the match and a lot of space causing Grundy to take a lot of risk to get in. Also if he does get in close with MB walking corpse you can db3. He has three hits of armor during the walking corpse. Db3 will blow row right through it granting you a hard knockdown reseting the situation

Also is there a flash write up yet? Punishing him online is near impossible. I know Escrima is the best stance in this match up because you retain your mobility and f213,b2,113,and d12 to punish his torpedo move with his elbow. None of these work for me online though so I just get spammed. Next thing you know I'm on the ground and have to deal with his high/low mix-up

I have trouble with flash also but I play one offline. The only noteworthy thing I can think of is his main combo starter string is an overhead. I find the flash match up comes down to who starts their offense first.

Hello fellow wingdingers, I'm new to the forum scene but as I really love Injustice, have decided to become a vocal member instead of a lurker. I was wondering when is the best time to play with my Dick, and when are the worst, matchup wise.

Dick can handle himself in almost any matchup. The ONE bad matchup so far that Dick has extreme trouble with...is Hawkgirl.

Just found this out today when playing against Doomsday. When he does his dive bomb attack use MB back 3 or forward 3. Instant punish regardless of stance.

.Hey Guys. I registered in this forum only to ask you about that Doomsday dive bomb, lol. I used to try back dash or forward dash, but it never worked. It must be because I only use Staff Stance against him, to keep safe distance. So, is it that? Just MB back 3 or forward 3? I'm trying this now on training mode
