Have you ever been to East Coast Throwdown? Or any of the NE events? I mean, if you'd like to talk about supporting MK, none of you in this thread have done the amount of support Joe has shown over the last decade. Period.

am being 700 right now with you tim, but why would he not include a fighting game still alive, at a tournament if he is running it? i was at ect4 mk was packed and hype and i thank him for running it. but if there is a profit to be made, even if he hates the game he is still going to support it. but the question is why would he say what he said about mk if he has been supporting it for so long? what am trying to say is until i have confirmation from joe that it wasn't about the money to run mk at tournaments, and that it was for the awesome community, even though he hates the game, it could come off to someone who think things through like myself. again i'm keeping it 900 with you all, it can come off like that and i would love to hear an answer, not trying to bash anyone, or shit on anyone. but when you say someone has been supporting a scene, even though he doesn't like the game itself, in a capitalist society........you know what am talking about.

How I had been supporting MK PRIOR to MK9 in general, entering MK tournaments for multiple MK games, about how I've been with this community since I first even began to play fighting games competitively. How about the numerous things I've done for the sake of discussion of MK9?

Let's not go into all that. Because clearly I'm not passionate about MK9 and MK as a whole.

I have had a lot of things go down after MLG Columbus, such as prepping for a marriage while not really making that much and having unstable income for the longest time, Console Combat dissolving, my main group of training partners splitting up, and basically being stuck with only online play, which just doesn't work for me considering the combination of netcode and my own internet being problematic, as well as my current life schedule being terrible. It's just a bunch of stuff.

But to answer your question, I guess they can be mad, even though he wasn't particularly shitting on the players themselves. Trust me, a number of my friends shat on MK9 whenever it was brought to light, and even shat on the fact that it shouldn't be part of MLG. I quite honestly don't care...why should I? I know what Joe's done in terms of support for MK in general, and can come to terms with what he said about MK9. Why? It's different strokes for different folks. The man has said it in this thread, the community deserves everything they got, and they do. Only FGC to actually support the MLG movement, really, and continued to support the game at tournaments everywhere, despite people saying the game was dead.

And yes, he is a legend in Mortal Kombat. He's particularly a legend in UMK3... the game that essentially kept the shred of Mortal Kombat alive in tournaments until MK9. When MK9 began there were no top MK players like we have now for MK9.

perfect answer, people react and behave different under different circumstances, i know most don't realize that and i wanted to bring it to your attention that you were arguing against inevitable circumstances. i am sorry that you can't make it too more tourneys and i am sorry for assuming your absence was your loss of passion. people will take it offensive and personal sometimes when you "shit" on something they love, i know i used to be like that, before i gave a fuck about others opinions.

I liked that I got next documentary featuring Li Joe, it was pretty awesome. Street Fighter history and how FGC is what it is today. Capcom games are pretty cool, it's good to see Injustice belonging to everyone.

I do have a question though. Did Mk have those weird input errors when get crossed up? It feels to happen more often then none where ill get crossed up and try to do a down 1 or down back 1 and ill get a hcb or qcf move. Anyone feel this?

I also watched your stream yesterday breaking down injustice, really appreciated you answering questions. Nightwing so far sounds pretty sick, as well as the rest of the characters. Can't wait for the breakdown of IGAU after the game drops.

I just said hey guys im back whats up lets play injustice. AANNNNNDDD the only reason I came here is because I can answer everyone's questions about injustice. I have the ability to right this very second.. I came here to heeelllpppp the community. The MK community. Since INJ is clearly falling in the MK umbrella.

Now., Yes MK9 is not a good game to me. Which i stated why earlier and most of you guys can understand my reasoning for not liking it. I don't like the game but I support it.. Do i like BB, nope. Do i like SF4, no. I have talked more shit about sf4 then I ever have mk9 thats for sure. You can ask anyone outside of the MK community shell how much shit i talk about sf4... For someone reason you guys act like im killing you children. Its a game everyone. Please relax.. I always support the scene as a whole no matter what game or who wins or how broken, big or small the numbers are. ECT2 was the biggest viewing of MK ever until mk9. I understand you dont want to credit me for supporting umk3 and or playing it. The thing is, facts are facts my G. Most of the well respected OGs do not like MK9. so whats the big deal? who cares man..

I heard few "hes a TO he does it for the money". Dont ASSume you know me or why I do things. If I was in it for the money, why do I not run ads on my stream? Why do I not make money off my stream raffling n selling stuff? Because I do not do it for the money. I do it because I want to give you guys something. The FGC. Not this scene or that scene. OK I got to page 1 and a half of this thread before I had to stop reading and just post. 16bit and Cat, you guys are missing the point COMPLETLEY. Joe doesn't like your game. I don't either. And yet, as an organization, East Coast Throwdown has been behind MK9 every single step of the way. Even when you guys were in MLG, we advertised ECT by saying "hey if you can't make to to MLG, come here!". I was even at VSM the week prior to ECT and was saying ON STREAM to all the guys going to MLG, "Good luck, we'll try to watch, get that money!" I was TELLING people to go to MLG to get the money. You know why? Because we BOTH knew that the money wouldn't be there for more than a year. And guess what? PROPHECY FUCKING FULFILLED! So you guys should really check your facts before you say Joe doesn't support you guys and just shits on you. You two are a fucking joke.

We've been behind you guys every single step of the way, even after MLG dropped you. We are always here with open arms for you to come to our tournaments. We always support your games, no matter what they are! Are you guys aware that Shock and @summ0ning come with us to EVERY SINGLE hotel we scout out to help us with floor plans? Are you aware that when the MK TOs ask us what they can/can't do at ECT, we just tell them "whatever you guys want to do, it's your area, run whatever, just make sure it's on our schedule". But right, Joe (and subsequently ECT) doesn't care about your community. We hate MK so much that back in 2010, we put UMK3 on stream and I had to literally scold Seb from Frame-Advantage to have patience while 9.95 and Dark_Rob were setting up their mame setup for the first time on a stream. But right, we hate this community. Joe does it for money? Are you kidding? We could give two shits about the money. We run ECT because it's fun and it brings people together. We pay for that shit out of our own pockets for what? FOR YOU TO ENJOY YOURSELVES! All we ever hope for is to break even! Whenever we have ideas of where to put money into, all we care about is "if we spend more, are we going to be able to break even, or how much will we lose?" We never say "man this is really going to cut into profits". We're not in this for the money.

Now here's what I will say about a lot of you. You guys shoot yourselves in the foot every chance you get. It happened when MLG picked you up and this self-righteous crybaby sub-generation of MK9 players came about and claimed that community events were only harming the community, and it's happening now. You can't unite on any sort of front. Yes, people have differing opinions, but it's incredible the amount of bullshit drama that happens here. Any time someone says "I don't like your game" you get up in arms saying that they're destroying your community. Guess what guys? We both hate SF4! Marvel 3 is a joke compared to Marvel 2! You don't see everyone on SRK or EH telling us that we need to get out of the community because we're just poisoning it. You guys have access to a man with a wealth of fighting game knowledge who has a full copy of Injustice and is willing to answer your questions and learn with you. And what do Cat and 16bit do?
