I am hoping its a sign of their not being a timer period. Honestly without projectiles able to cancel each other out like in SF you shouldn't need a timer to force folks to go in on each other. Staying out is less and less viable to the weaker zoner as the match moves on. In games like SF it didn't matter if you were a better zoner you could still cancel out a dudes fireball. In Marvel guys had varying strengths of projectiles or tools to cancel them out. In IGAU that stuff is coming at your face. Someone zones in IGAU you either eat chip, or rush in. You build meter fast enough in this game that you shouldn't rely on segments of fireball wars like a Ryu vs Akuma hadoken fiestas.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the timer is just gone for good. We've seen folks play this. It'll stay hype without a "beat the clock" time out victory on deck. Maybe more so...especially considering no one can just be walled into a corner by zoning in this game with screen hazards available to abuse.

No more "won by health lead" time outs excites me. I think with the hazards on and the projectiles being non-cancelable by other projectiles we have a scenario that honestly works to remove the timer if they want to because I think this game is incapable of turning into a staring contest at opposite corners. You cant just stay in your corners and throw fireballs and wait for someone to jump in. Someone throws a projectile you cant stop it and are still in danger even at full screen. If you are a beast zoner and you stay out and a dude is in a corner or is pushed to midscreen BOTH areas have stage hazards to turn on you.

The footsies of IGAU simply don't allow for the ease of staying in any one spot in this game for long that other fighting games are used to. Because of that I think the action stays constant and due to that no timer is needed to force players to move in on each other or take action. Without the need to force players to act why include a timer and time outs at all?

Just got back from pre-ordering the Battle Edition at Gamestop. Asked the guy how many total pre-orders they had... only 38. He said theyd need 45-75 to do a midnight release. Hopefully people in my area just have been lazy with pre ordering. I WANT MAH INJUSTICE AT MIDNIGHT!!!!

well the scream is not really that one dimensional, she can use to propel herself to the air (like a diagonal air dash), in the game could knock back like supes's breath and another move could cause a hit stun like sindel's scream. she's also very acrobatic and expert at judo so they could even implement some grapples.

The meat of her moveset would be her hand to hand fighting talents, since she is famously one of the most skilled fighters in the DCU. I'd have very high expectations for her ability to rushdown/pressure/mixup etc with her strings and a few cqc special moves.

The Canary Cry could have multiple uses, as well. A scream that nullfies an incoming projectile, a concussivescream used to punctuate combos with a powerful knockback and hardknockdown, a screech that overwhelm's the opponent's hearing, sending them into a dazed/stun state. Very powerful utilities.

You have Batman and Nightwing in the game, two martial artists who surpass her and who are able to do more additional stuff than her.
I'm usually someone who doesn't care about the "too many Bat-characters"-argument, if that means that a potentially good character wouldn't make it in, but damn ... Black Canary is so far from a potentially good character it's not even funny anymore.

Nightwing isn't even a factor given his weapon-based playstyle (although the idea that he could match Black Canary on a strictly hand to hand basis is laughable at best, with Batman being debatable).

Either way, the vast majority of fighting games are entire casts full of characters that practice martial arts, all in a different way. There's no reason to think to even compare Batman and Black Canary, given that they could be 100% different. We've proven that she could have multiple utilities for her special moves, including anti-zoning, a hard knockdown for mixups on wakeup suited to her potential rushdown gameplay, command grabs, aerial mobility, and a capture state. And we could likely come up with more, such as counter/parry moves.

You are so far from potentially being right it's not even funny anymore.

I'd take Zoom, too, because his temporal-based powers could legitimately be used in many different ways from Flash.

And let's not front, I'm pretty sure you and many others would would bite at the chance for Captain Cold if they said he was potential DLC, citing that he could use ice in completely different ways from Killer Frost (which he certainly could, it's not as though NRS hasn't made multiple Ice characters in the past).

dude I'm not against Black Canary I'm just pointing out how some people are acting and yes would love CC but I know hes not getting in stop raising my hopes
I think she would be a cool character but if we get a Birds of Prey character would rather have Oracle in a flying wheelchair

The comic book medium is about as inconsistent as it gets if you get into "ABC Logic". If you're going to bring that in, we may as well bring in Identity Crisis and claim that Green Arrow > Nightwing > The Flash and Green Lantern, because of how the fight with Deathstroke went down. Powerlevel discussions are pointless because of wankery like that.

And I've never watched Young Justice.

You're trying to justify a boring character. Why would you do that, even though it's so easy to come up with so much better characters for the game like Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Poison Ivy / Swamp Thing, maybe Constantine and so on, and so on.

Powersets are so painfully irrelevant to this. Any character could be interesting or boring based on design. Do you even fighting games, bro? There is no reason to assume that any iteration of character X would most definitely be more interesting than character Y based on powerset, because it can always fall flat on its face. I've done my part to prove that Black Canary most definitely could be a very solid/complete/fun fighting game character, and as a constant figure in the Justice League since its inception (being a founding member, essentially the only one without a spot in the game given how obvious it is that MMH will be DLC) she's certainly got the clout to earn some recognition.
