Captain cold looks dumb as fuck. Seriously. I don't know squat about him or frost, so if I'm a random dude checking out this game and I see cold wearing a parka with a freeze gun, or I see some curvacious blue demon looking chick which one is more likely to get me to drop 60$?

If you want to go by pure fan favoritism, the roster has that already in spades. The roster is stacked, we can afford a lesser-known. BUT, for the sake of having all the fan favorites in there, and we are judging by fanbase, you do realize that's just going to lead to *gasp*, more BAtman characters right? I've seen more desire for the likes of Scarecrow or Ivy than Captain Cold. Or heck, even beyond Batman characters, you have Swamp Thing as a top contender.

Fact is, not every fanbase is going to get what they want. The smaller the fanbase a character has, the less chance they have of making it into the game. You can't include everybody.

Also, never meant Grundy was obscure. I was implying that people are quick to judge someone, just because they aren't Mr./Mrs. popular. Grundy was one of the lesser liked/appreciated characters in the game, and after more of his was shown, people fell in love with what he had to offer. She could do the same.

As for Killer Frost...who are you to judge how big her fanbase is, or the lack there of?

That was a thread dedicated to her inclusion. And i'm sure that's not the only gauge of her fanbase. So I wouldn't be so quick to say she has no "REAL" fanbase.

At the end of the day, it's all about preference. The character someone wanted wasn't chosen over another character who did. That's innevitable. I wanted Dr. Fate. Doesn't mean I am unwilling to give her a chance, even though I harly use female characters. I'm still interested to see what her gameplay will consist of.

They pick the characters for the reason. She obviously fits a criteria that another character doesn't.

It's def killer frost and ares is the other. 24 confirmed with I think maybe 2 hidden. Then we have 4 dlc so 6 more ;-)

That's true, which goes to show you can't please everyone. They had 24 spots to fill. They can't put the entire dc universe just because ppl like certain characters. Why people get, in their own words, "angry" over a character selected is beyond me.

Honestly I was doubtful whether they would have an ice character at all...the picture looked like it could have been circe or killer frost so I expected one of these. Personally I think Circe could have been a better character for the story but this is unexpected and I'm curious to see how NRS manages to pull this one off.

The last character is without a doubt Ares though especially because of issue 9 of the Injustice comics...he has the greatest motivation for helping Batman and the Insurgency out of everyone...who in their right mind would want to be Ares Lord of Ponies.

I do still hold out for unlockable characters though of which I think Lobo and Final Boss ??? will both be the unlockables if they actually have secret characters. Even if they don't we know a bunch of characters will be appearing in the story mode that may not even ever be playable or hell maybe we will find characters that they've written into the story mode that makes us want to have them as DLC instead of the current list.

Honestly Captain Cold fans are likely not bitching so much because they are probably a bit more mature (could be wrong) either way they are not nearly as pissed off and whiny as some of the fans for other characters. I do have to revise my wish for DLC now though since one ice character is more than enough in my opinion.

I tell you, buddy. People wonder why devs keep the roster under wraps? This is why. Imagine a years worth of this sort of insufferable bitching about who deserves to be in the game and who doesn't.

First it was too many bat characters, then it was too many characters without powers, then there weren't enough villains, then it was a sausage fest, then it was alts vs full characters, and now that we know them all you can't even hear the people who are hype over the cascade of meaningless moans. As if a single pre-order got cancelled today, as if any semi-serious comic / fighting game fan isn't going to put their grubby little hands all over this game no matter who's in it.
