No Rounds...Gain early life lead to win?

Would you mind explaining what exactly happened there? i've never played SF3 so i'm not sure :\
Off topic: Parrys in sf3 put you at MASSIVE frame advantage. To parry you tap toward your opponent when the attack is incoming. The amazing thing about that super parry is that in order to parry chun li's super you have to input the first forward motion before she activates the super(its that fast). Every time you see ken parry, Daigo is tapping toward on his stick. One mistimed push and he would of been toast. Watch again, you can see him preparing for it as he keeps taking a quick step forward in anticipation of an incoming super.

I Break Hearts, Not Combos
Axel_Redd /anoyone else confused about the clash.

From what I know, is that you can use the Clash ONCE per match.

It costs no meter to activate.

You are then prompted to wager meter and depending on who bets what, different things happen.

So its just a fancy breaker. Not in a bad way at all though.

There's no parry, you hold a direction + button towards where you're getting hit most likely and it'll push block. Unless they just macro it to RB or something for Casuals who can't figure out how to do it.
You don't do it while getting hit, you do it while blocking attacks.

I'd wager that pushblock, being a metered action, is probably a button based input (as it is in most games featuring it) using the meter burn button and potentially others. Directional based input seems unlikely (unless it's like an Alpha Counter) since you're supposed to be holding back to block.

So as we all know Injustice will feature no "rounds" with .a break in the action when a character reaches the end of his first lifebar and a victor decided when the second health bar is depleted. I feel as though the person who gets off to a faster start has a WAAAAAY larger margin for error and subsequently will lead to a blitzkrieg style of play. I personally am skeptical based off of the amount of times that I have been beaten by a shallow tatic in round one and been able to download the player, adjust, and win in rounds two and three, though that might not have happened if I had to make up a large life lead. In Injustice momentum seems to be the key, and that there will be far more "only a real master" moments becasue of the ability to retain your health through the "round" change, and I fear that will negativly impact competitive play.

I specifily am looking for feedback from anyone who has already played Injustice or has played a FG competitively (tournaments) that had this style of health.
This is exactly what the 55% combos and ect. that people complain about comes in handy.. Being able to do big damage Is going to serve some purpose in keeping games close.. 55% out of 200 is the same thing like 30% of 100.. I feel the damage will be what would keep the flow of matches balanced.

I would think so, there's chip damage so, if you don't have enough health than why not.
Well, Persona 4 Arena has traditional chip damage (as in, dealt via supers and specials only), but they did make it so that chip damage could never be fatal. I thought this was a rather nice pseudo comeback mechanic in that it never really lets you be in an "impossible" situation but doesn't make the work any easier.

Of course, I'd say that NRS looking at ArcSys games for mechanic inspiration would be crazy had Blazblue not already been identified as an influence on this very game.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Or maybe only supers and certain ex attacks could chip you out. It definitely allows for more comebacks.

Here is the technical and exciting version of what happened and why it was a thing.

In SF3 you push back to block. But if you push FORWARD at juuuuuuuust the right time you get a parry and it completely negates all damage including chip from an attack and you dont even have recovery frames after doing the parry...you can go right into an attack.

Daigo had no life and even chip damage would kill him so he stopped attacking and just started mirroring Justin Wong's movement to try and bait Justin into finishing the match with his super. Chun Li's super is so God Damned fast you have to start parrying it BEFORE it came out to time the thing right otherwise you'll just be walking into it. Daigo baited Justin so hard that he freaking psychically knew when to start parrying...and then he managed to parry EVERY SINGLE HIT OF THE SUPER! To parry a multi hit super is like playing a rubiks cube blindfolded with your dick. Its just flailing and painful to memorize how to do it right. He did it under pressure in a tourney against the biggest name out there at the time.

To recreate this under controlled conditions in a training room is hard, but to have done it in a tournament match on no life versus the biggest player in fighting game history and convert it for the win? Legendary.

Really likes to throw things at you.
We wont kno anything for sure until its released. Just wait and find out.
So just gonna put this out there.... you are in a section of a FGC website about a game that has yet to be released, in a forum about pure speculation, and this is what you bring to the table? Sorry to blow you up but I really hate when people say not to speculate, when that is literally the only thing we can do....

So are you guys saying that you can only break ONCE per match and only on your second health bar?

Daaaaaammmmmnn..... as Treadmill said they better make sure there are no resets.... that brings a whole new level of Holy Fuck to no rounds and just two health bars... that first combo is gonna be a big deal.... particularly if there are moves that can be used as combo enders that place you at a large frame advantage, i.e Cage NP, Kabal F4, or Sonya 112....

WTF are you talking about, post what you want, I don't care.
i'm just saying that i dont know the answer 100% for sure and i think that you do. i'm not implying i'm scared to post or don't want to trounce you or anything, im just trying to say people should believe you over me when it comes to mechanics questions like that becuase i know you know it better than i do :)

According to some unofficial posts it appears to be that way. Nothing is set in stone though.

How would I know it better, I'm waiting like everyone else.
