Serious post of the day
Seriously though, I'll be extremely disappointing if hawkgirl doesn't have flight cancels, like Aigis, Iron Man, Painwheel, and others like them.
Now that the game is "Back to block" I could do retarded Vortex, Cross-ups, Instant over heads. etc.
My boner will have reached a maximum potential, previously only attainable by Raven news, if Hawkgirl has flight mode and cancels.

Let's make it happen, bitches

Alan Scott aint in the game. Casual gamers are going to be the big buyers they need for this game. Grundy was in Arkham and is most recently KNOWN for Arkham. My statement stands.

Bu-bu-bu-bu-bu Grundy was ORIGINALLY not a Batman villain. He was a Golden Age Green Lantern Villain!

Doesn't matter. Golden agers aint exactly known for buying games and Alan Scott AINT the lantern in this game. Hal Jordan is and his main villain SINESTRO is in as his big matchup.

One of the BIGGEST game hits out there with folks hardcore and casual was Arkham City so what Grundy was originally DOESN"T MEAN SHIT. Grundy is in just like Catwoman to appeal to Arkham City fans. Folks who bought and played Arkham City casually will see Grundy and Catwoman in the game and Arkham City skins are in this game. You cannot tell me Grundy isn't in largely due to Arkham City crowds needing to have specific bait dangled in front of them. That Arkham City game sold a TON and if you could tap into those numbers by putting the potential for its most celebrated fight into the game then you would do it or you would be stupid. They loved the Solomon Grundy fight and THIS is the most memorable matchup for that crowd. Solomon Grundy is in for Arkham City crowd draws so they can relive that fight.

I say again. My reasoning holds up and you can hold dat.
What exactly are you wanting people to hold...?

So you are saying out of 70 years of Grundy being around, him being in Arkham City is all that matters, and is what people will associate him with most? 70 years of comics, his role in the Legion of Doom, and his multiple appearances in the JLU animated series that most fans watched, as well as a whole list of big events he's been a part of, even in recent years...mean nothing compared to 1 video game? Those aren't comic book fans then. Maybe casual fans will recognize him from Arkham City only, but any sort of DC comic book reader or fan of the JLU etc. would not associate him as someone being included just because he was in Arkham City.

Grundy was in 1 part of the game. 1 fight. That's it. And THAT makes him included to "bait" Arkham City fans who don't know any better than to think Grundy is a Batman character blah blah blah? If that were the case, why not include someone more notweworthy than 1 fight? Such as Clayface? Who actually had a prominant role, is well known as a Batman character, and was in Arkham Asylum as well...

We already have Batman, Nightwing, Joker, Catwoman, Bane, and Harley to bring in the Batman audience. Who were all in Arkham City in a much more prominent way. Who are all way more popular and recognizable by Batman fans. And you want to tell me Grundy is only being used to "bait" the Arkham City fans... bahahaha Dear lord some people have some wacky biased dilusional mindsets when it comes to Batman and who makes the game.

Arkham City fans don't care about Grundy. No Arkham City fan is going to dismiss this game, only to find out Grundy made the game, and instantly throw their money on the counter and get the game. DC fans, the ones who actually read the comics and watched the cartoons etc. care about Grundy. Those are the ones who appreciate his inclusion.

Nice try though.

Err, actually the people I meet at locals, my friends, family, and I, all know Grundy mostly from Arkham, and it's these kinds of people, not comic book readers, that will be rolling in more cash for this game, as well as keeping scenes alive.

Actually, I know quite a few people that heard of his inclusion, got interested, saw gameplay of him, and then decided to get the game to use him (He was actually the first revealed character, I saw that made me want the game). It's also doesn't hurt that with him being a grappler archetype, almost all the Fighting game enthusiasts that use grapplers will be flocking to him. He may not bring in the big bucks, like Batman, but from what I've personally seen, he is definitely doing his part.

Plus aren't you two the only huge comic book buffs here? What's with all the tsundere shit? Just make sweet love or something, and stop fighting all across the board.

You might be getting me confused with someone else...

I've never even addressed this person before. I mainly just read things, don't usually reply unless I feel compelled to throw in another opinion that's not being represented yet. I go to a few forums, so it gets a little much to try and start conversations at all of them. And I definitely haven't said anything about being a comic book buff. I know my fair share, and it's a passion of mine, but I never ever claimed to be any sort of know-it-all.

As for your statements on Grundy. I guess that's a good thing, but I still don't see it confirming anything. I don't see any Arkham City fans scauffing at this game, which has shown many other famous and popular well known characters...and Grundy is what seals the deal for them. Grundy was in 1 fight, that lasted no more than 10 minutes. Hard to see why he would turn heads who weren't already turned by others from Arkham City if we're going by that logic.

I mean hell...Grundy has been featured in a lot of stuff that even just casual fans that watch the cartoons, or animated movies would know. As well as other games...

So yeah...thanks for sharing the testimonials, maybe it holds some merit...but I still don't see Grundy as any sort of inclusion solely to "bait" in Arkham City fans. Does his recent appearance help? Of course. But with his resume, I can't help but think he is far more geared towards actual DC comic diehards, as well as the fighting game audience who enjoy grapplers as you stated.

Try talking to arkham fans about this game sometime. I've been reading comics for nearly 20 years so I'm no slouch, but I respect current popular culture as more powerful a draw in that market. Grundy was a giant zombie fight in a Batman game and so far the biggest questions I've had on batman cast are Bane Joker and Grundy.

He may not have been a Batman villain in the comics, but he is a draw for casuals who played the arkham game. There is no denying that. Batman vs Grundy 2 electric boogaloo is an idea that a lot of Arkham players want to experience. State all the history you want, because I know that crap already.

Try talking about current popular culture among games. What game sold a TON to casuals from comic books? Batman Arkham City. What appeals to casuals? Zombies. What was the most talked about fight in that game from casuals? Batman fighting Grundy because he's a zombie. How do you draw in the HUGE crowd who bought Arkham City into Injustice? PUT GRUNDY IN FOR THEM.

Holds up. Hold dat. Also "Hold Dat" is pop culture in fighters too. Current market trends. They matter more than wikis and timelines. Its the current times and the current things characters are associated with in video games that I'm saying dictates Grundy being included. He was a plant to help make certain Arkham fans got what they wanted. Its a major reason to include Arkham skins so don't deny ARKHAM CITY SALES were thought of in choosing cast for this game. It sounds silly to even try.

BIG PUSHER
You say this but do you truly, truly believe that ANY character beyond Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, or Joker is a "deal breaker" for these casual people? It merely sweetens the pot for them.
Yes. I know a few people who don't t care for Batman but they love Bane, Scarecrow, etc.

Small demographic but some people are different.

I dont think there are any deal breakers to be honest. But sweetening the pot goes from tempting them to convincing them completely that its all they can want and more. Keeps them off the fence to keep stacking the deck towards their interests.

OK, then let me ask this: Does Grundy sweeten the pot a great deal more than Quinn, Catwoman and Nightwing already do from the AC games? Because, honestly, I don't even remember the Grundy fight or even which game he appeared in. And I've played both multiple times.

Edit: I asked my brother and he got 100 percent on AC and he said he didn't remember. He had to see a clip to even remember Grundy was in that game.
