Question Is Tom Brady a top 10 player?

I didn't ignore Texas, showtime was at NEC. I am just not going to pretend that Scar, and CAT placed extraordinary well at dallas, they got what top 16 which I think Tyrant got too. Mit and and DJT are that difficult of comp to make Dallas way much harder tournament than NEC, than every local tyrant placed higher then them I want to be counted as tournament win.

While I do agree with this, the general idea of being a top player is based on results, and if you want great results, then you're better off using the best character in the game than if you were to use a character like Sheeva.

Hence why this is not a true competitive game if only one character can win at the highest level. Kabal should be banned so we can attract players from other gaming communities or allow players who main low tiers to have the confidence to attend tourneys now.

Okay, Tom, riu, death, and especially sonicfox are playing light years ahead of PL, Madzin, and gross right now. Blake good player but I am sorry flopped at dallas. That just leaves with the WC who tyrant competes with all the time, and Pig/CDsr/Dizzy. I still feel Tyrant placing at NEC is = the same amount of props if he got top 8 at dallas.

Didn't PL just get 2nd at SB:A -- When's the last time any of those guys made 2nd place at a tournament with Dizzy, CD Jr., M2Dave, and Slips there? And how is any tournament that's missing Pig, Dizzy, MIT, PL, and Denzel harder than one that has all of them?

wow, okay one bad MU whoopie di doo, you sure do have alot of uphill battles don't you pig, and the funny thing is even with a character good as kenshi you don't even play him 100 percent in tournament. How do I know you really know kenshi MU's and don't give me that "I play super serious casuals with so and so 8 clock in morning before the tournament", or XBL.

There was a lot of talk during the MLG season if Tom Brady was still a top player. Since he couldn't compete many considered him washed up but others pointed to his success and quality wins at smaller grass roots tournaments as proof he'd be a contender at MLG if he was able to compete. Now he is back and has placed top 8 at one of the biggest tournaments of the year. Should Tom be considered a top 10 player now?

Here are the facts...

NEC had more entrants than any of the MLG events.

All of the usual suspects were there with few exceptions(Terry bros, Dizzy, Pig).

It was worth 1,000 points on NFG.

Tom lost to his first opponent with Johnny Cage and then made it all the way through losers with only Sub-Zero.

Tom overcame multiple 3-7 MU back to back.

Tom defeated two MLG top 8 finalists back to back to place.

Imagine if Tom played Kabal first instead of Sub. Imagine that encyclopedic knowledge and borderline insurmountable match-up knowledge with a top 5 character. No one would stand a chance. Tom is a top 5 PLAYER stuck with a bottom 10 CHARACTER.

PL is washed up, He flopped at dallas. SB wasn't even real major PL will tell you that himself, but so what it had 37 players of which 7 were solid players, and dizzy still mopped the floor with him. His kabal is awful and 16bit mashed his head in. I see no reason why those 4 players today are not playing better than PL. TBH I don't think PL would of even made it out of pools at NEC.

Banning him wouldn't necessarily bring in newcomers though. People have hated on MK since before Kabal was undoubtedly number 1.

PL got bodied by Dab cage LOL, and than man handled by MIT liu kang jumping from character to character not having a single clue what to do in the entire set. I think you need to rewatch PL at dallas and than his matches with blake the next day, and then his kabal vs 16bit. PL is playing like TRASH right now, I am 100 percent certain Riu, Death, Tom, and sonikfawk are playing better than PL is right now.

The character you use should have some consequence on this list. For example, since I play Kabal who gives a shit if I do well or win a tournament because it's Kabal. I don't think I should be top ten players because when I don't use Kabal I don't get results, thus I'm not consistent and I'm more character than player ability. Players who place by using low tiers like SonicFox and Tom Brady should gain extra stock and respect because it shows true skill more than the top characters. Just my two cents.

1. PL is not washed up. Just because someone doesnt qualify at one event doesnt mean washed up.

2. REO wins because hes a great player. The character has 0.0% to do with how good someone should be seen. What makes someone great is what they do with their ability. Being top from day 1 and winning several BIG majors is why REO is considered great, has nothing to do with Kabal nor should he be penalized because of his choice of character. I only wish that people would stop thinking its Kabal and realize that REO has accomplished so much because of his abilities and not his choice of character.

I will definitely remember this. He will win FF...quote me on that as well. Also, I believe Tom Brady is indeed a top 10 player. Over the complete life span of MK9 he didn't finish top 8 like twice or something. Says a lot, especially when you're battling Kabals and Kenshis with Subby.
