CD jr is the best IMO just because you lose games doesnt take away you are the best if your winning touraments left and right. Your going to come across players that stylistically do well against you, not your character just playstyle. Everyone even the best at anything lose to certain people. I really dont think anyone can take away what CDjr has done and will continue to do

Keep in mind that this asks "Is CDJr the best player in the world?" We havent seen him go against players in UK, Brazil, Chile, Ukraine, Philippines etc.. BEST in the US sounds more right.

He hasnt travelled outside of the US to prove himself. And i m not talking about EU, i m talking about South America also. The point is that if he doesnt win a major outside of the US, that being either a EU major tourney, or anywhere else, no he cannot be proclaimed the best in the world. This thread is stupid.

If you had to pick one player in the world, though, it would be him. The US scene is much bigger than anywhere else. If there was a world ranking system, he would be ranked #1.

Just because the US scene has the most players doesnt mean that its the best scene in the world. The biggest and most active, yeah i agree, but the best ? No, that has to be proven yet. Thats the point i was trying to make in my previous post. I m not trying to take anything away from cd jr, he is a great player, he loves MK as much as we all do and he seems to be a cool guy. But to say that he is the best in the world when he hasnt faced anyone else outside the US scene is a bit of exaggeration imo. Take into account that there are many scenes out there m8. UK, Greece, Italy, Chile, Phillipines, Ukraine etc etc, just to name a few that come in my mind.

CDjr is the best in the world STATISTICALLY. No one has a track record he has, flat out.

However, there's no way of telling whether he's the best in the world truthfully until he plays everyone from everywhere else. He has even said himself, he underestimates no one.

I say REO is. REO is FAR FAR more accomplished than CDJr is.The only reason REO loses to him is because of the Jax-Kabal MU.And STFU about "learn the match-up" because it didn't only happen once.

CDjr is has been the most consistent player of all. But that doesn't necessarily mean he is the BEST. There is no BEST MK PLAYER. There can't be especially when many thing can factor into sets including spacing, footsies, stage, character and bugs within the game.

I say YES! He is the BEST in the WORLD! I think we've all seen the competition around the WORLD and none of it compares to VSM. Although I'm sure they're(world) very respectable competition, NYC is the nucleus of consistent competition.

Funny seeing all the internationals saying that he isn't. Im not from the USA and i know for a fact he indeed is.

No one in the US or any other country has done what he's done. He's won tournaments with 3 different characters against top level if not the best competition and if he doesn't win he's top 4.

I know most of them don't mean any disrespect but when you deny the obvious it feels like it.

YES he is the Daigo of MK...not because Daigo is untouchable but because he loses sometimes but always manages to be top 4 if not winning all tourneys, CDjr is like that.

If im completely honest the only euro player i see that can beat him or at least be his equal is foxy. Don't like the guy but if he was in the US i see him being up there with CDjr and Reo.

Unfortunately I heard not just MK, but fighting games are waning somewhat in Italy.

That said EU, South America...hell even Russia and some of australasia regions are playing this game. Wasn't there some massive tourney in Czech republic recently, 120 players? That's mind boggling. I bet there were some ridiculous players in that tournie, but because of the region, very, very little is known what goes on there. At the moment, all we know on TYM is what the english speaking countries and some EU countries are doing and that's it.

And if Japan has started playing this, then that is EVERYONES gain.

The game has some variables .... sure that , individuality, regarding skill level, plays a great part of results, but, you have :

- Match up factor
- Tier level factor
- Dosage of luck, or bad luck, in some matches (random factor)
- Tendency of previsibility when playing too much against the same opponents, using the same characters
- Emotional control
- Adaptability against pressure and agressive adversaries

So, as some people said, it's possible that could exist some unknown dude in any place, that is not known, and never will be, that could crush and destroy the well known top players .... who knows ?

Regarding the "known" top pro players, CDJr is one of the best, but, we have to respect Reo, Detroit, CD Sr, Maxter, Tom Brady, Pig, 16 bit, Curbo, and all guys from TYM and overall, competitive MK9 scene, because they can defeat each other any day, so, in the end, the top position can belong, temporary, for any of them, does not matter who is the number 1 MK9 player ..........

however it is also a fact that he has not played EVERY scene in the world yet, which makes it hard to determine if he is indeed the best in the world, CDjr cant be the Daigo of mk yet, as daigo has played in practically EVERY country worldwide that has a SF scene, and won/placed there.

Ummm isn't this thread about discussing whether he is or isn't the best in the world?

To be completely honest and no offense, but you can't compare a 20 man tourney or whatever your tournaments are composed of, to a tournament like Final Round, MLG or Winterbrawl that had 100+

Yeah, quantity ≠ quality but if there's one player that has the credentials to be, it's Cdjr and by a long shot and all of the 94% who voted against him being will agree with that. And whether you like it or not, the USA scene will always be considered the best one. In fact you guys can beat the US in a 5v5 and in a month or 2 and 2 tournaments later you guys will still be considered second rate. It might seem like im dissing you but im just saying the sad reality.
