Character Select Screen Invisibility Option, yes or no?

Do you think they should bring back the "Invisible Cursor" option on select screen again?

Well, for those of you wondering what the hell this is. It was only featured in on MK so far MK4(MKG also) where you could go down to an invisibility option and THEN pick your character....

Personally, I loved this option and online especially I think it would be awesome. It would make things more interesting, eliminate constant counterpicking or people sitting there just waiting to see who you pick then take ten years deciding who to pick...:jerkoff: lol

At any rate, this has been one of those "controversial" topics discussed by the community from time to time. We've seen debate about in various threads ever since MK went online back in 2004 with Deception. I can't speak for the MAME issues since I don't play on MAME.

At any rate, I'm all for this for the new MK and/or even the MK HD remakes. I noticed in MKvsDCU they brought back the timer, now they need to add this option as well.

I'll bring it by Ed and Hector's attention, if they don't implement it...not a big deal but I do think it would be for the better personally. Who agrees? Thoughts?

Discuss.

this is pretty much a pointless feature. i rather they focus on tryin 2 balance an mk game 4 once and gettin rid of as many glitches & infs as possible.

gameplay > miscellaneous features.

Counterpicking is part of high level-play.

Besides, in tournaments there is no way to hide your character, so I don't see a reason to hide them online.

"You won't winter over?" Who the fuck wrote that?
I don't really care either way. For online play, I'd like it just for the annoying fact that people always wait for you too pick your character b4 they pick theres.... Or. You could have a select screen that only shows one fighter. You pick them, but you don't know whom your opponent picks, and its the same for them. Then the fight boots up and you get a surprise for whom your opponent chose.

tourney's and online dont matter to each other so make it harder for people online. just makes another point that online shouldnt be taken serious!

mk is full of counter picking assholes everytime i played mka or mkdc everyone always waited for me to pick first so i was like fuck u and pick flash and make em pull anyways...beats having to wait 5 minutes or using stage select glitch

games like tekken and sc ppl will pick whoever they dont even care youd prob only see a counter picking at highest level where people actually know why

dont you hoodoo me

Well that's obvious lol, but just because gameplay is first priority doesn't mean they can ignore everything else....I'm getting the vibe from your responce in other words your don't want this feature for whatever reason which is fine, but this definitely would not be a pointless option...if you've played MK4 you'd know it worked fine in that game. That's why I have a poll. In the grand scheme of things things like this, alternate costumes, dlc you can say are pointless in comparison to the gameplay but still it adds more zest, options and replay value to the game.

For everyone else, I agree with everyone bringing up the good point of definitely have this for online play(I sooo agree) but for offline tournies, unless someone is trying to be a dick or sneaky it's not necessary.

Online, for sure. Offline, all you need to do is punch them if they wait for you to pick, they don't have the protection of the TV screen there for them (and possibly miles of separation).

I don't really care since it's online, but I'm not against it.

Like said before it would be great for online and casual play with friends. I don’t see how this would affect having glitches and what not. Not like it’s going to take much time or effort to add into the game.

Well, I would think that this feature would not take a whole lot of time to accomplish, therefore not affecting the gameplay.

I'm for it... and of course the challenger would have the option to have it on or off.

Interesting how some people feel counterpicking is tactic, while others feel it's lame.

But I agree, for online this is a small element to add. Same as timer, in MKDC they added a timer(thank god) like UMK3 because that was also an irritating thing that was abused when not added...people will just dance all day since no timer auto picks after a while

counter picking is legit its done on every game & never banned from tourneys.

complainin about it just makes u look like a whiny cry baby

There have been some tourneys(at least online) where there's been rules I've read where players have to take turns picking first. I don't remember if it's been with MVC games or Tekken, I know that was the case with some online 3D MK tournies.

Online/netplay though this is definitely logical since some poeple like to be pricks about it.

Not only do I like this idea, I'm requesting a blind pick against most of the people here at an offline tourney.
