I never use a mask for Skarlet but this one does look cool. Same for her blood vials and dagger. Can't wait for this skin and super happy that they are finally giving it to us.

 

But I don't agree with how the process went and any mentally healthy person wouldn't agree either.

Amazing, positive, respectful Mileena fans, really wanted her in the game. NRS wanted to reward these fans whom they consider the best fans and supporters of the FGC.

That was the process. Anything else that happened outside of that was not part of the process that brought Mileena to MK11. An NRS employee himself is clearly stating that toxic fans had NOTHING to do with Mileena being in MK11. So what's the problem?

 

For me it's fine Mileena is in, if it would actually mean that they listen to fans of some of the 3D characters as much as they do with her's as well as Rain's. Toxic fans are just a part of this dreadful community and I can be one too, doesn't have to be just fans making dead threats, cussing or disrespecting Boon. Right now fans of Havik, Smoke, Reptile among others are going nuts with their requests with this announcement. Instead of being happy, it's "but where's my favourite?" That is something NRS has accepted and they even like how passionate we are. But we have to admit that if it had been Havik or Nitara fans who had behaved like Mileena fans, those characters would have zero chance to be in.

 

I have a weird feeling about Rambo gameplay, like, having a variation inspired by Ancestral Kung Jin, with bow and different type of arrows. That'd be cool. Btw no offence to Mileena fans, but she now looks like a guest worker janitor from Central Asia in Russia, lol. We call' em "Uzbechka"

The complaints about her not being in MK11 were never as bad as the MKX Mileena hoard demanding she be buffed into stupid-tier.

I will probably use Mileena quite a bit when she comes out but let's keep it real for two seconds. Nobody would ever admit to caving due those factors because it would open up even more negative behavior. Mileena is a fan favorite and shouldn't have been left out or relegated to third dlc expansion. I'm glad she's back and hopefully we get the rest of the Trilogy roster too.

Fine, Keep Toxicity in your mind. But understand that a fan demanding Reiko literally caused one of the devs to leave Twitter during MKX because he threatened his family. And if certain rumors are true Reiko has a strong shot being in MK11 over characters like Sareena, Cyborgs, Reptile, etc.

Are you serious? If so, you are part of the problem. If it weren't for people like you, we'd have actual MK characters in MK games like Sareena, Reptile, Smoke, Cyrax, Reiko, and Havik. Now we get garbage like Spawn, Robocop, and people riding **** for a glimpse of Ash (for whatever fucking reason) while there are so many MK characters that should have made this roster.

I’m sorry, Spawn isn’t trash. He was requested for so long, that he deserved to get added to the game. He also brought the armor break moves to the game so he did bring something new. I agree with the rest though, I don’t get why people specifically get into the game because of a certain guest, I understand that they can be fun to play. They won’t always be in the game and if you don’t like any character in the MK cast, you’re just some casual.

There's nothing toxic about it. There's no fighter out there with this many guests in it. I find it dumb, always have. And who are these "most fans"? I could just as easily say, most fans prefer no guests.

Its a fact that when you allocate time and resources to creating 5 guest characters, it means you have 5 less MK characters you can work on. I would have been fine with 2 to 3, but suggesting that 5 guests aren't enough in a roster of 37 is just stupid. Just look at Robocop. What a bland, boring character. What is his gameplay? He shoots his gun 90% of the time from full screen. Wooow! The creativity, cause we didn't have enough gun wielding idiots in this game yet. But hey, he makes it in over Reptile because TeRmiNaToR vs RoBOCoP! Who even asked for this character. Three people on Twitter? And now, we get Rambo!! Oh man, I can't wait to see the diversity and creativity with this one!

Akira, Jacky, Sarah and Pai from Virtua Fighter, Mai shiranui from King Of Fighters, Naotora II from Samurai warriors, Momiji and Rachel from Ninja gaiden. The difference between dead or alive and MK though is the fact that these guests weren’t added over MK characters.
I get both sides of the argument. Guest characters are fun and very interesting to have but on the other hand it’s just a shame that we have 80 characters in the arsenal and that these guests basically get a spot over characters that didn’t get a chance to shine in a long time. Like Li Mei, Sareena, Nitara, Havik, Taven and Daegon for example.

There are also multiple reaction videos where people let out angry screams because she made it in and they can’t use their “Mileena is dead” argument and their stupid “Mileena isn’t coming, nobody cares about Mileena memes”.

DOA is pretty much a dead game now, due to awful business decisions but the game is worth playing. DOA5 is still a fun game to play, a very complex, yet smooth 3D fighter. Also easier to play than Tekken, but complexer at a higher level imo.

yep, this game is pretty fun, and , by surprise, indeed has deep at the technical level, being hard to master !

the only sin, is regarding the ultra overpriced DLCs that all DOA franchise always tried to push down on our throats ..... yep, this is kinda sad and hurts a lot this game franchise reputation, hehe

I think the DLC individually didn’t cost much since 1.99 for a costume is quite cheap. It’s just that when you bundle it and when you look at the seasonpasses that the pricing starts to become ridiculous. I grew up with DOA so it will always be my main fighter, but it is sad that this happened.

The awful thing is, it’s actually Koei Tecmo that’s pushing this down our throats and not Team Ninja themselves, the thing is Team Ninja doesn’t have any balls to defend the game and series.

yeah, Team Ninja is busy at the moment, fucking up Nioh 2 with trash features in the new DLCs hehe .... so no time to work serious on defending DOA 5 or 6, hehe .....

 

So because certain MK characters were inspired by some of these names a few decades ago, they should now be added to the roster over actual MK characters? Yeah, that DOES make a lot of sense.

I think @Kiss the Missile's point is that guest characters are literally the foundational root of MK culture. MK was created by a couple guys who unrepentantly nerded on action movies and wanted to play a fighting game that brought together their favorite characters. Liu Kang basically is Bruce Lee. Johnny Cage basically is Jean-Claude Van Damme (JC's nut punch comes right from the movie Bloodsport). Sonya basically is Cynthia Rothrock. Raiden basically is the lightning-wielding Storm from Big Trouble in Little China. Guest characters have been a part of MK before there ever was such a thing as "actual MK characters."

I totally get where you (and others) are coming from: You want to see your favorite storyline characters make a comeback, and it's frustrating when it seems like they get bumped out of line. But at the end of the day, that's just your personal preference. There's no philosophical or moral argument to be made that guest characters "don't belong" in MK, because they're literally where MK comes from. The devs are probably going to keep including them because they're part of the game's heritage, and yeah, they're very popular with a large number of fans.

I mean, you can definitely advocate for the characters you do want (there's some evidence now that maybe it works). You can also just rage about it if you'd rather do that. But attacking other fans who like guest characters and treating them like it's their fault doesn't make you look constructive, friend.

 

Wow, Rambo in Mortal Kombat!? That is so wrong, just typing those two in one sentence felt wrong. Well, another set of characters/story content I am not paying money for, just like i didn't spend any money on Aftermath. Between the awful story, poor character roster, and lackluster music, MK11 is turning out to be a rather subpar entry in the series.
