Goddamn it 7GB... at least Vader Immortal on PSVR released the same day.

Going to go have a run around in Star Wars then whilst I wait for the breasts to spill out... I mean, the patch to install.

And I forgot to charge my Move Controllers!!!! :(

3 hours til I get my UMK3 skins thanks to the size of this patch, christ.

So now I've got to wait an hour before I can pretend to be a very angry disabled man in a mobile iron lung whilst I wait for the breasts I can't touch to download.

Unbelievable. :coffee:

For a guy like me who's only amateur-to-below-average at best, how likely am I to be able to get this from the Kombat League (I've never played it online ever)?

Is it like the ToTs where if you grind enough by the end of a Race Against Time you'll get it or do I actually have to be a regular victor against other much-better players to even have a chance of unlocking it?

Each skin is linked to specific ranks in KL. More victories, more points, highest rank.

But once you reached the rank linked to the skin, you don't have to play anymore, you'll still get it at the end of the season.

Depends at which rank the skin is but I think everyone can get 3/4 Kombat League skins regardless of their skill.

To add onto what Benlo said, you can play one set (win or lose) and get the first tier skin when the KL season is over.

The second tier skin (for reaching Champion) is pretty easy to get. You get points for losing up to Warrior, and even then you only lose points if you lose to someone below Warrior. This was my first KL run and with a roughly 50% win ratio the whole time, I was able to reach Champion in 5 or 6 days (or 30-40 sets).

The final tier (Demi-god) seems harder to reach but in Master at least (not sure about Grand Master), you get like 4x the points for a win than you do for a loss so if you have like a 30% win ratio, you may still be able to hit it (of course it will take more games).

The final skin is achieved by doing all of the challenges. The hardest one is playing 5 sets a day for 10 different days. By the time I achieved this, I was already champion, so yeah, getting 3 out of the 4 skins isn’t too hard (just requires like an hour or so for 10 days out of the 4 weeks).

They are here and once again the NRS Art Team is BOSS! They really elevated the UMK3 skins with the use of textures, detailing, and lighting! These skins are required the work on the props is GORGEOUS!!! Thanks, NRS!!!
Yeah, Kitana looks amazing in game. It’s her best costume imo. Nostalgic and makes her look like a deadly assassin.

LOVE the new skin pack, especially the second option for each that's a shade darker. And although they weirdly give Jade a black mask on the default one, on the second darker version it's thankfully green and that little anal-retentive gnome in my brain is happy haha.

I was never a big fan of the MK2 skin pack (I know it wasn't ever technically issued as a 'pack' but you know what I mean), but appreciated that at the time it seemed like the only old-school skins the ninja girls would get and gave them all a much needed different hair choice. Underbun and thighs were also appreciated for three women who largely had nothing but identical collections of their own bodysuits in all of their wardrobes. But I also liked that I could make them a unified team of 'Kahnum Assassins' as I identically named their variations with these skins.

However these are SO much better, not even anything to do with the sex-appeal of them, just the fact that they were properly reimagined as a classic outfit but in more realistic textural design. The MK2 ones should have been redesigned in this way; leathers, layers, stitching, buckles, weathered texturing, all the things that make the costumes come alive and fit with the rest of the game's world. Comparing the new UMK3 'redux' ones to the MK2 ones, is literally like comparing Kano's story mode thick leather reimagined MK3 outfit next to his hideous MK3-accurate spandex version that was pointlessly given as part of the MK3 skin pack. The 1995 cheap spandex costume looks so cheap and nasty in the game... because it always was in real life (plus such a waste when he already had one so similar and much better in his default array of costumes, should have probably given Sub Zero his one for at least the fact it was so different).

Aside from Sonya's MK3 spandex which is actually wonderful... because it was always literally meant to be spandex aerobics-wear (and for that reason wouldn't decline an MK1 Johnny Cage either), I don't want anymore 100% original trilogy-accurate spandex and lycra outfits ever returning again. The tasteful reimaginings of them, just like Kung Lao's fantastic MK3 skin (and of course what we've just received) are exactly how these retro skins should look. Fun, fantastical and full of nostalgia, but tweaked just enough with some artistic licence to suggest "hey maybe this person would actually wear this?".

We'll know what tier she's in once the season drops, but honestly, KL is more about playing a lot. If you play a lot, you can get to Grand Master and even higher easily. It just takes time. So if you think the grind is worth it, go for it!

@Professor Oak Honestly not sure who you're talking to in your last posts. I mean, they're vaguely parallel to what I was talking about, but literally nothing in either post has any logical connection to anything I actually said. So I guess that means you're talking to someone else...?

Who? Maybe one of those mythical unicorns you were talking about--those neck beard-sporting, fun-hating, sexually repressed SJWs who think all women are exactly alike and who live just to impose their thoughts on you? I mean yeah, I agree, they sure would be scary if they were real.

But of course they're not real. They're just a meme, used by close-minded people who need to have some evil 'other' to attack, insult, and blame for everything. Because that's so much easier and more comfortable than honest conversation and being open to other legitimate points of view. Pretty much the hallmark of modern politics in America and lots of other countries. It would be nice if our community was better than that.

Oh well. On a different note, the new skins really are very nice. No snark; maybe not my taste, but the NRS artists are super talented and you can still appreciate the great work. Very cool.
