Dang, took a sec but that run cancel is a tight link for me. I could get it eventually but I can't find rhyme or reason for why the last DB4 sometimes reaches and sometimes doesn't.

Really? What are her viable KBs? Some of hers don't seem viable at all to me. That and her pokes were the issues I see with her thus far.
id say the trick is to mash back til you see the flash then 21.

i can get it 9/10 times. But i always use run cancel characters

also dash in before the final 21 db4

112 is a great stagger as well last hit comes out super late is very good on hit.

MB fireball varies from about -2 to plus 1 depending on string and spacing. Will be useful for checking poking out and flawless block gaps

I'm having trouble punishing some things that I KNOW are unsafe but just have too much knockback, like some Fatal Blows. What's the answer to this? Dash up F44?

Is the opp pretty low to the ground when you start the last 21? I tried varying dash timing, distance, and opp height and still couldn't discern a pattern.

I can record for you? Its a very easy link for whatever timing im doing. Do a full dash and just input i think. The dash should sort the timing for you

Nice. All 3 variations got their own version of dirt. I love it.
I'm glad they put the time into making each variation have a purpose. I was afraid of dead content like some characters having just one variation worth playing.

Every DLC has a great chance of being a fully fleshed out, distinct character in this game. They def put 100% more time and effort into designing DLC than a character at launch like Kano, Noob, Skarlet, Raiden, etc

Will F1/F2 (the shield advancing mid) jail?
Sort of. So F1 (Shield advancing mid) is 16 frames in startup, you're plus 14 from spinning dragon. So if they do a longer move it'll connect, it's the perfect range. However I find in practice people poke me out of it about 30% of the time. It's also not hit confirmable so I try to avoid it outside of juggles.

Edit: In the corner it's consistent, but I'd rather use a different string all the same personally.

Been playing V1 and V2 so far and really loving her. The only 2 things I wish was that her dragon drop was universally directed and that her grab n punch was more like in MK9. This version has barely any reach and is very time and space specific to end a lot of combos. But other than these 2 issues, very pleased with how she plays :)

Plus on block.
I mean the range isn’t that much of an issue with f1 being only -2 on block and being a very far reaching advancing mid.

It’s basically a free get in button.

It’s -2 and all but Sheeva is very much a character that enforces mental frames. They have to worry about f14 which has a gap that’s big enough to make people want to retaliate but fast enough to catch attempted pokes, and in V3 there’s the f1 tick into crouch grab. The times it takes a lot of people to think about how to react appropriately to your options can make a -2 moves into a 0, and in some cases even a + if you know what I mean.

To add onto that I’ve also noticed that it’s really easy to condition people to stand block her bf3 in V3 too, they eat enough b3’s or the b3 low poke KB they’ll start standblocking and eat the +4 frames and you’re now in your ideal range. Because b3, f3 and bf3 all have a near identical start up animation of Sheeva taking a quick step forward. People see that step and block high for the OH and get slapped with the frames instead.

B3 and B4 are also both only -5, go far as hell, and leave you in ideal range on hit or block.

She seems to have way more gaps than I realized, what's the logic there? Frame data is often negative without a flawless-block anyways. I feel like over time that might hamper her?

Also does anyone have any tech or setups for Variation 1 unblockable db3 move? I labbed cancelling strings into DB3 up amp on block for the air grab and I'd say 3/5 times you're blocking a Sheeva string, you can react to the db3 with a poke, D2, or successfully JIK, regardless if she tried the amp throw off db3.
Maybe I'm using that move wrong.
