Have they said for sure if the character releases will be staggered? I assume they will be, but the trailer kind of made it seem like this is all releasing on the 26th.

They're marketing this very dishonestly. If you read the fine print, the only things GUARANTEED TO US, for free, are the stages, friendships and new brutalities. That's it. Everything else is up in the air with no definitive statements.
One better be knocking or throwing your opponent into the swinging blades in the Shaolin Trap Dungeon stage.
I think all of the content comes out on the 26th. including DLC.
And the screen before that one shows MK Aftermath (which is the expansion with the story and those 3 characters) and it also says May 26th.
