I feel like they took their time with the gameplay and rushed the rest.
Yeah, I'm just saying that Injustice 2 is the only NRS game that essentially had 4 years of development, rather than the usual two.

I don't think that it means every other game is rushed, but I do think that starting from Injustice 1 as the base gave them lots of time to focus on extras beyond the gameplay and engine. It may not be possible to replicate that in a non-legacy game, and they may have decided that from the start.

But who knows. They may already be pushing the limits of what they can do inside a two-year cycle. I guess we'll find out in a year or so.

Oh they had 4 years for IJ2? Man, it really shows. Even if it was my least favourite it had a ton of good stuff about it that MK11 does not have.

In theory, yes. Because it was a legacy game built on top of Injustice: Gods Among Us. So the polish + features of the final game is the result of the two years spent developing IGAU, plus the two years spent expanding/improving that game (rather than starting over) for Injustice 2.

That would give them a lot of additional time to do something that you couldn't do with a brand new game.

It’s crazy to me that people will authoritatively state that a game is not fun, as if it’s some sort of proclamation that we’re all supposed to objectively agree with.

Like, MKX wasn’t my cup of tea, but I would never go as far as to say that the game objectively wasn’t enjoyable. I still had all the usual fun, hype and salt just playing it for what it was.

Currently MK11 is loads of fun for me. I can understand that not every single game will be everyone’s favorite. But good lord, some people want to show up and announce that it’s categorically “not fun” as if their personal opinion decides what the developer was supposed to make. That’s crazy.

Even the first Injustice, for all of its issues, was hella fun to play. Every single one of the NRS games can be enjoyed on their own merit.
I'll say that I think this game is definitively less fun for me than MKX and not the type of game that can keep my interest for long stretch's but I agree its funny when people wont allow for a differing of opinions on things that are completely subjective.

I definitely agree they rushed alot with mk 11. Thankfully theres lots of time left for them to fix and tweak it though. Wouldn't mind if they have us an option to shut off KBs I think that would.make things more balanced and interesting.

It is better this way
Injustice 2 was so fun and felt the most thought out, at least to me. There was a character for everyone imo and they were all deep and most of them were fun to play. Most playstyles had a powerful character to represent it. Even the worst characters looked like gods compared to the worst variations of their previous game, MKX. MK 11 is also very well balanced though. I think no variations in competitive play is for the best and MK 11 would benefit from that IMO. I also want to say that I2 had the largest jump in quality from the game preceding it and the smallest amounts of improvements with the game succeeding it.

Character designs were fucking great for the most part, and everyone could look good with gear. MK 11 has some great ones like Scorpion, D'Vorah, and Jade, but generic ones like Cassie and Jacqui.

I like MK a lot obviously, but I truly think the two Injustice games are better than the three new MK games as a whole. Imo of course but in I2 I had absolutely no issues anti airing, I much prefer btb over the block button, and they have the DC universe to pull from which you could make a case for being the greatest fictional universe around. I'd love an Injustice 3 but I really was to see something brand new.

I am actually sad that I2 can't get enough supports from FGC (not just NRS community) and can't be as popular as MK franchise. It's a very well designed and polished game. Not to mention I2 story and gear grinding system are way better than MK11

The grinding is definitely less painful in i2 than mk 11 but story, that's debatable. I enjoyed both stories.

People love to mention King beating Sonic, but what they don’t remember is that this was right when Sonic stopped labbing Injustice to go hard in MVC:I (and then DBFZ right after). Punk did the same thing and ended up missing a couple of SFV5 top 8s, which was unheard of for him at that time. Sonic looked obviously rusty and people took advantage
This is just not true. DragonBallFighterZ was not even released yet at this time. Sonic wasn't just rusty and getting taken advantage of, I sent him to loser's round 1 and he beat everyone else in the tournament to make it up to loser's finals then he got eliminated by me. I'm the only person that beat him that weekend, it's not like he was just losing to everyone.

Also yeah he was playing MVCI, but when is Sonic not playing multiple games? His whole entire fighting game career he's played multiple games, he's never once only focused on one game. He got top 3 at Evo in DragonBallFighterZ two years in a row while winning MK11 and placing 3rd in Injustice2 the previous year. So it hardly makes sense to say he's off his game in Injustice 2 because he's playing MVCI

Punk also picked up MVC:I at the same time, went hard in it, and missed SFV top 8 at nearly 4 majors in a row (NCR, Final Round, Stunfest and Combo Breaker) for the first time ever, after making Top 8 or Grand Finals at almost every tournament before that. It wasn’t just Sonic.

And with DBFZ, I’m referencing the lead up to EVO 2018, where Sonic was 3rd at Combo Breaker, 5th at CEO, and 3rd at EVO for IGAU, when he was grinding hard to win DBFZ at EVO (which he did).

Sure, he's always played Skullgirls and DOA, which are much smaller scenes -- but grinding to be on top in a marquee FGC game (like MVC:I was at launch before everyone dropped it, or DBFZ was with over 2500 entrants at EVO) is another level of intensity.

That win you're talking about with me vs Sonic was in 2017. DBFZ didn't even release until 2018

You still brushed off all the other points I made as well about him getting double eliminated by me and him beating everyone else

No, I was saying that the two periods in Injustice 2 where Sonic didn't get 1st at nearly everything were 1) Where he was grinding MVC:I, and 2) after that, later on when DBFZ released and he was grinding for the EVO win (mid 2018).

I think you misunderstood my post.

I do enjoy the assertion that the game of the decade was the one played, purchased, and support by the absolute smallest number of gamers.

Mk11 for sure. MK9 is a close second, and I's say Injustice 2 is 3rd.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really didn't like MKX. And Injustice 1 is a good / fun game, but i have nothing else to really say about that.

@Onilordasmodeus @Lt. Boxy Angelman Thanks for posting guys, appreciate the feedback!

Yeah I think both MK 11 and MK 9 have some insane shit to say the least honestly lol. I really hope that rumor winds up being true about NRS remastering the klassics, that would be sweet.

All hail emperor Liucifer Kang!
Mk11>Mk9>Injustice 1>>>>>>>>MKX.
I gave up on Injustice 2 because I couldn't pick a main, roster was kind of weak imo. But I played it a bit and its miles better than MKX ,which is a disgrace of a fighting game.

This deserves a proper MK9 remake or re-release. Cmon NRS yall can do it! Komplete edition, remove the region lock, improved existing netcode, and maybe a small update? even without any changes to the game, many fans would be buying mk9 again. That game is just too good to be burried under other new games.
