I'm glad I don't live in a place that densely populated! Outside of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, it has been pretty easy to stay away from crowds in New Mexico, even when running errands. Another reason I say fuck living in California

Some have said it’s Gods way of testing us but if that’s the case we’ve failed as some will be more concerned on the blame over the good news regarding the virus’s fighting it, coming together etc progress like today they confirmed in the states that certain anti inflammatory meds are helping more than other countries because we have better medicine than most. They also have realized That a certain drug they used to fight malaria is actually helping defeat the coronavirus as well.

This is but one of many theories, another is it’s manmade but then you start going down conspiracy theory territory so who knows man lol

The issue is any drug or vaccine needs to be tested extensively to determine whether or not it’s safe in the long run. Certain medications could alleviate symptoms short term but have bad long term effects. Meaning, I believe it’s going to take quite awhile before we have an actual legitimate “cure”, for lack of a better word. But, that is just my opinion. I am in no way an expert. My opinion is based on all the research I’ve been doing surrounding COVID-19 and that’s it, so take it with a grain of salt.

The fact that a lot is being done with currently available drugs, isn't that a good thing? Much of the testing has been done before they were released. So long as the combination of different ones doesn't need as extensive testing it should lead to some sort of treatment earlier, rather than later. Hopefully.

Even if a vaccine is some ways off, at least if there's a way to try and shorten the time people are sick and contagious would be huge gift to everyone.

Calling it "Wuhan-Virus" doesn't have to be racist or stigmatizing. It is an old way of naming viruses. You have West-Nile, Lyme, Ebola, Hong-Kong & Spanish flu - all names of geografical locations. It is just the way these things were named.
On the other side, some politicians use it for their own gains and the renaming was one of the few good things that the WHO did when the virus started.

The xenophobia & political bs will always be there when incidents like this happen, even if it was called COVID19 from the start. It is just the way humans are. Just take a closer look at Thailand at this moment, some are blaming farangs (white people) of importing it and giving it to the local population, just like it did when HIV struck - playing into the CCP narrative.

You are right, but naming it different won't make a big difference imo. If a virus originates in the US, lots of people will act wary or even xenophobic towards US citizens. Just like you see now in Thailand, where some act like this towards white people.

Calling the virus what it is would most assuredly decrease discrimination towards Chinese Americans (and, I guess, Chinese citizens all over). I'm reading a lot about out-of-nowhere harassment fueled greatly by this term and I'm disgusted.

I was inspired by your post to check on how Thailand is handling things since I had no idea. "Farang" is a word and a half. Came across a Wikipedia article listing the nationalities of all confirmed patients in Thailand:

I agree with you that this could be used by people who were already racist to be awful. But I don't think anything will or won't keep racist people from being or not being that way ya know? It's called the coronavirus, everyone knows it by that name, I feel like even if terms like the wuhan flu weren't being used, there would be little to k no kw difference with how racist people are acting. I think this is different than the Spanish Flu thah UltraDavid pointed out because coronavirus most likely start in Wuhan. By most likely, I mean almost certainly, I just dont want to say for sure in case ya know it turns out not to be the case. Iv heard people say Wuhan flu just because that is what they heard it called around the beginning of the year because it was new and they simply were lacking a better descriptor and that is what they had heard.

Ignorance is not the same as malice, febreezing Chinese people in a subway is racist. For the record, I don't think people should be calling it that, they should call it the coronavirus because that's what it is. I just wanted to point out that every single use of Wuhan flu we a phrase isnt done strictly with the intention of stigmatizing Chinese people.

You have to be out of your mind to defend the job Trump has done. Even Mike Francesa, a former NY sports radio host, who has been a vocal Trump supporter has spoken to how poorly he has done:
